Junko: Hey hey hey! Wanna hear a good story? I know you do! Otherwise, why are you here? Anyway, once upon a shooting star, there were these two brothers. The younger but taller brother was Alphonse Elric, and the older brother was Edward Elric. He's smaller, but it's not like he'll make a big deal out of it. They had a caring mother and a father who was far too busy to do things like... you know... be there for said mother's funeral. Well now... that escalated quickly.

Mukuro: But the young brothers were determined to bring their mother back to life no matter what. So they looked through their father's old notes to find a way. And they finally did...

Junko: But everyone knows two little kids can't play God! I mean, that's as ridiculous as two teenage sisters causing the end of the world!

Mukuro: Um... didn't we-

Junko: But because these two boys were dumb enough t do so, God himself was kind enough to answer their call. He took Edward's leg and Alphonse's entire body! But Edward didn't wanna lose his only family, so he sacrificed his arm in order to seal Alphonse's soul into a thing of full body armor!

Mukuro: Good news is they brought their mom back...

Junko: Bad news is she died seconds later! And it looked even more painful than the last!

Mukuro: Which is why they stopped trying to bring their mom, learning not to do the impossible. Instead, they joined the army and searched to get their bodies back to normal.

Junko: And they both got the skill to do it!

Mukuro: They're both incredibly strong and fast.

Mukuro: Edward is strong enough to harm Father, who created a shockwave that split the clouds.

Junko: Wait, your father or my father?

Mukuro: Um... neither?

Junko: Good. Also, Alphonse who I'll just call Lil' Al is strong enough to overpower Homunculi, who have the strength to split mountains!

Mukuro: They're both incredibly fast. Which is surprising for Alphonse and his size. Edward is comparable to their father, Hohenheim, who can react to lightning. And Alphonse is just as fast, being able to keep up with Edward and react to Pride's shadow.

Junko: And Edward is really durable! Stab him, crush him, rip off his arms! He'll keep getting back up to fight! He's even survived a giant explosion! Lil' Al doesn't need to worry about durability though. He can't feel pain... he can't eat... can't sleep... he doesn't even need to breathe... such despair...

Mukuro: Still, when it comes to combat, Al is much better than his brother. In all aspects except their use in Alchemy.

Junko: Oh that's right. They can both do that circle magic thing, right?

Mukuro: Right. However, Edward is the only one among the brothers who can perform alchemy without a transmutation circle. In order for Al to do the same, he will need a philosopher's stone.

Junko: A beautiful creation that takes the lives of over fifty million people to create! Oh to think such an object of despair could exist in such a pretty little thing makes me wanna drool! And all in order to ignore the laws of equivalent exchange!

Mukuro: Right. Now that neither brothers need to use a transmutation circle, they both can do things other alchemy users aren't able to do without one. 

Junko: They both normally use it to manipulate the environment around them. They can create walls to block attacks, cages to trap enemies, or giant fists made of stone! Al can use it to regrow lost limbs and Edward can make a variety of weapons! 

Mukuro: While he can make things like swords and giant cannons, he much prefers a spear.

Junko: But that spear is easy to break. What's not so easy to break is his sweeeeet robo arm!

Mukuro: This Automail Arm is extremely durable and this third model is made from a combination of duralumin, carbon fiber, and nickel-copper alloys. This makeup gives it lighter weight, better flexibility, and improves his alchemic abilities in combat.

Junko: Just like Al, this arm is bulletproof and can be used to block most attacks! And Edward can use it to create a blade!

Mukuro: This blade has a short range but allows for quick strikes when used up close. He could also always increase its size whenever he wanted to.

Junko: As stated before, Edward is really good at hand-to-hand combat.

Mukuro: Both boys were trained by Izumi Curtis. While Al relied more on his fist, Edward often employs punches, kicks, and grapples. He'll even play dirty if it means winning the fight.

Junko: He's also copied some moves from others. For example... he can use Deconstruction Alchemy!

Junko: An aspect of Alchemy that allows Edward to bypass his opponent's durability just by touching them! This destroys the target at a molecular level! 

Mukuro: It can also be used to remove elements from a material, such as turning saliva into water.

Junko: He also learned how to use the Ultimate Shield!

Junko: Where he hardens his Automail Arm, granting it nigh-indestructible protection without hindering its speed or mobility.  

Mukuro: It's not too unbelievable though. Al can also transmute his armor body to increase his offense and defense.

Junko: So we got two brothers. One who can heal himself whenever he wants so long as he has a philosopher's stone and the other who is pretty much a genius at Alchemy. Is there any beating this team?

Mukuro: Well... yes.

Mukuro: They both need both their hands to perform Alchemy even if they don't need a transmutation circle. And despite the Ultimate Shield being nigh-invincible, it doesn't stop his arm from getting destroyed with enough force. Not just that, but Edward's arm can be melted if exposed to extreme heat.

Junko: He also has a pretty short temper if you know what I mean hehehe.

Mukuro: And while Al seems like a big, chunk of metal that's impossible to kill, within the back of his empty body is a seal that keeps his soul within the armor. If that blood seal is damaged in any way, Al will die. For this, Al can't go in the water or it will wipe off his seal.

Junko: Not like he can swim anyway. He's way too heavy!

Mukuro: Also, the Philosopher's Stone only has a finite amount of uses. If it is used too much, the souls within it will run out and it will grow useless.

Junko: And let's not forget that if Al's body receives too much damage, he becomes useless and can't recover until after the fight as Edward's the only one who can repair him in those types of situations. In other words, there's only a certain amount of damage these boys can take.

Mukuro: But even so they press on... working hard to get their bodies back.

Junko: Ew, when did my sister start taking all hopefully and stuff?

Rosé: What do I do? What am I supposed to believe in now!? Are you going to tell me? Well, are you??

Edward: ... You need to figure that out on your own. Stand up and walk. Keep going forward. At least you have strong legs to take you there.

Alphonse: I don't believe in never. Hope keeps me going. And, finally, hope has given us a lead on how we might get our bodies back. No matter how many years it takes, I won't give up. So please don't say that you're going to give up.
