Kokonoe: Naoki Kashima was your everyday high school student. One day, he went to look for his teacher in an abandoned hospital along with his friends, Chiaki Hayasaka and Isamu Nitta.
Junko: Except that was a mistake because right after he found his beloved teacher, the end of the world happened and he died!
Kokonoe: Well, not really. Turns out, before this happened he caught the attention of Lucifer himself. And so, as soon as the Apocalypse ended all mankind, Lucifer implanted a bug into Naoki's body. Once he woke up, Naoki was a different person entirely. He became the King of Chaos... he became... the Demi-Fiend.
Ann: You may recognize the world of Shin Megami Tensei since it's the same series connected to Persona... but Persona and Tensei are two entirely different timelines.
Junko: Yeah, instead of Personas and Shadows, there are actual demons, angels, and GODS! And guys like Demi-Fiend are on a whole other level of power!
Neptune: I know right! He's super strong!
Neptune: This guy can take on universal beings with his bare hands! He's fought incredibly powerful demons and even beat the avatars of YHVH, who is basically an Avatar of God himself!
Junko: So can we just call him God? Yeah, I'll just say God.
Kokonoe: Well, Demi-Fiend has also beaten God himself, kept up with Lucifer, and has even survived the destruction of the Amala Universe, which is an infinite number of universes.
Junko: Hell, he was even able to keep up with, take hits from, and beat Stephen! What's so great about some guy named Stephen? Oh only that he's got control over all those infinite universes and has omnipotent power superior to God himself!
Neptune: He's highly resistant to Fate Manipulation, Soul Manipulation, Mental Manipulation, Reality Warping, and so much more!
Ann: To top that, he gets his power from Magatama.
Kokonoe: Magatama are parasitic entities that act as a combination of armor, weapon, and spellbook. According to Lucifer, Magatama are the very essence of demons. With these, the Demi-Fiend can interact with other demons, can use various magic, and gain the power of a demon himself.
Ann: He can use it to manipulate fire, lightning, earth, and ice! He can also use light and dark magic, heal wounds, increase his speed and strength, and even nullify most attacks.
Neptune: His ultimate Magatama lets him use an Almighty Attack that ignores durability and makes him passively repel or absorb all magic and physical attacks! Oh, except Almighty attacks of course.
Ann: But what makes him even more dangerous are the Demons he summons! While guys like Ren and Yu summon multiple Persona, which is one with them, Demi-Fiend is completely different. He's a Demon Summoner and the Demons he can summon don't share the same weaknesses as himself. So even if they get hurt, he'll be just fine. Which... is kinda not fair if you think about it... especially since he can summon up to three at a time, possibly more.
Neptune: And you'll be surprised to know one of his stronger Demons and his main companion is Pixie!
Ann: Oh yeah, the mischievous demon of the Fairy Clan. She nullifies light and dark attacks and she's resistant to electric and earth attacks.
Junko: She can unleash some pretty powerful electric power that shocks her opponents! She can heal her allies and even revive fallen demons! Oh, and in addition, she can become a Super Pixie and use Megidolan, an almighty skill that does Mega damage!
Kokonoe: It should also be noted that Pixie can change her size at will. She can be small enough to fit in your pocket or big enough to be about human size, it's her choice.
Junko: Still, just like a Persona user with the wildcard, Demi-Fiend has way too many demons that he's capable of summoning. So we'll just name a few of them. Like Cu Chulainn!
Junko: The legendary fairy hero who fought with a powerful spear! He nullifies light and dark attacks, is resistant to physical, ice, electric, and wind attacks, and is weak to poison and nerve attacks.
Kokonoe: He has heavy to mega physical attacks and can randomly counter any physical attack his opponent may deal.
Ann: He also has Girimehkala!
Kokonoe: A large, demonic elephant from Sri Lankan mythology. It is said to be the amount of the demonic celestial king Mara, who tried to tempt Buddha so that he could not achieve enlightenment. The Girimekhala's most prominent feature is its one huge eye, which is said to carry a powerful curse. Anyone that looks into its eye will fall ill and cannot be cured. He reflects physical, gun, and dark attacks, absorbs fire, and reflects light and other ailments.
Junko: He's also got some pretty hot fire and can unlash some powerful physical damage! He can even nullify any buffs on his enemies or debuffs on his allies! Oh, and he can also heal his allies either naturally or by blowing himself up.
Neptune: After this big guy is Parvati!
Kokonoe: The Hindu goddess of fertility, love, beauty, harmony, marriage, children, and devotion as well as of divine strength and power. She reflects light attacks and nullifies wind, charm, and mute abilities but is weak to ice attacks.
Junko: She has some heavy wind attacks, can mute her opponents, charm them, or even put them to sleep! She can also reduce her opponent's health, heal her allies, and drain any attack that isn't an Almighty one!
Ann: Those were the four he goes to more often. Others include Arahabaki.
Kokonoe: A Japanese god of unknown origins, Arahabaki nullifies physical, gun, fire, wind, electric, earth, dark, and light attacks as well as ailments. He resists Almighty attacks but is weak to ice.
Junko: He's got weak to heavy physical attacks that can petrify his foes. He has a severe Almighty attack and can apply debuffs to multiple opponents.
Neptune: And there's Titiana!
Kokonoe: The high queen of the fae and the wife of the high fae king Oberon. With her faithful flower pixies by her side, she gathers magic from moonlight. Titania resides in the Kingdom of Fairyland, where she rules over the moonlit Fairy Forest. While considered stunningly beautiful and delicate, she is also portrayed as a very proud fairy, with powers that easily match those of her husband.
Ann: She nullifies fire, ice, electricity, and wind. She's also resistant to Earth attacks but is weak to ailments.
Neptune: She has attacks that deal heavy fire and ice damage! She can also reduce her opponent's evasion, accuracy, and defense! She can negate all debuffs and heal her allies!
Ann: Then there's Cerberus!
Kokonoe: Also known as Kerberos, it is a monster and pet under Hades that guards the gates of the Greek underworld, the realm of Hades. It is generally depicted as a vicious, gargantuan dog with three heads, although accounts may vary. It reflects fire, resists physical damage, and is weak to ice.
Ann: It can bind foes with its battlecry and decreases its opponent's agility. It has heavy physical attacks and can deal medium fire damage. It also has a 50% chance of countering physical attacks with medium damage.
Junko: And of course, he has the Almighty Thor!
Kokonoe: Also known as Thor Odinson, Thor is the red-haired son of Odin and Jord, and is the god of lightning, thunder, storms, sacred groves, and trees in Norse mythology and Germanic paganism. Thor is one of the most powerful gods and uses his superior power to protect Asgard and Midgard. Due to his lust for battle and incredible prowess, Thor is also portrayed as a war god and also an agricultural god due to his status as a weather deity that aids in the growth of crops. His belt Mejingjard doubles his strength and lightning flashes every time he throws his trusty hammer, Mjölnir.
Junko: Thor reflects electric and light attacks. He nullifies Dark, Nerve, and mind tricks while resisting curses! This guy fought Demi-Fiend twice! Sure he lost both times, but that only comes to show how much of a badass he is!
Neptune: His electric attacks range from small to really heavy! He can heal his allies, remove any buffs from enemies, and remove any debuffs for friends!
Ann: Of course, we can't forget about Jack Frost! Hee-Ho!
Kokonoe: A spirit originating from England. He is a snow elf who brings in cold weather during the winter and is thought to be responsible for the frost that forms on the windows of homes and buildings. It's weak to fire and absorbs ice.
Junko: It has ice attacks but they're not really that strong. It can also heal its Allies. But don't underestimate him! This Jack Frost can turn to a form that matched up with Demi-Fiend, Black Frost!
Kokonoe: Black Frosts are Jack Frosts that grew powerful and evil due to yearning for dark powers and remembering their nature as a demon, being an evolved variant of the peace-loving winter fairy. Along with an increase in size, their skin becomes darkened and their attire turns from blue to purple. Along with retaining immunity to ice attacks like their ice brethren, they also gain immunity to fire like their firey brethren.
Ann: Still, he can reflect fire, dark skills, and other ailments. He can absorb ice, is immune to light, and reflects physical damage.
Junko: He's pretty weak physically but can do some heavy ice magic! He has a move that instantly kills his opponents and can impart immunity to mind, nerve, and curse attacks, ignoring resistances and weaknesses!
Neptune: Of course, these are his more consistent summonings. He has others too, like Vishnu!
Kokonoe: Rarely being known as Adideva, Vishnu is one of the primary deities in the Hindu pantheon. He is called The Preserver and is known for his kind demeanor and genuine interest in the welfare of humanity. In the Hindu religion, Vishnu the Preserver is one of the three principal deities of the Trimurti along with Brahma, the Creator, and Shiva, the Destroyer. He was first seen in early Vedic mythology as the god that assisted Indra in defeating Vritra and is now the supreme deity within Vaishnavism, a branch of Hinduism that focuses on the worship of Vishnu. As the preserver, Vishnu maintains balance within the world, and at the end of our current eon, he will appear as his final avatar Kalki and judge whether mortals have been good or evil. After this, the universe will end and creation will start anew.
Neptune: He reflects light, nullifies darkness, and resists everything else!
Ann: He can also repel physical attacks, overriding all other resistances and weaknesses of the same type. He has heavy fire, light, and physical attacks and can use Hell Gaze, which has a 70% chance of insta-killing his target.
Kokonoe: Next up is Scathach.
Kokonoe: Also known as "The Shadowy One," Scathath is a legendary figure in the Ulster Cycle of Irish mythology. She is a legendary Scottish warrior woman and martial arts teacher who trains the legendary Ulster hero Cu Chulainn in the arts of combat. Texts describe her homeland as "Alpi," which commentators associate with Alba, the Gaelic name of Scotland. She is especially associated with the Isle of Skye, where her residence Dún Scáith stands.
Neptune: She nullifies light, wind, and curse attacks while being weak to electricity. She can also repel wind techniques, ignoring all other resistances and weaknesses of the same type.
Junko: She's got plenty of heavy wind attacks. She can restore magic power, drain the life of others, and triple her critical hit rate with basic attacks.
Ann: Now onto Shiva.
Kokonoe: In the Hindu religion, Shiva the Destroyer is one of the three principal deities of the Trimurti along with Brahma the Creator and Vishnu the Preserver. He originally evolved from the early Vedic god, Rudra, and is now the supreme deity within Shaivism, a branch of Hinduism that focuses on the worship of Shiva. While he is known as the destroyer, he is also considered to be a benevolent and beneficial force as, without destruction, new creation couldn't take place. He also acts against premature destruction, going far enough to withstand great suffering. He is depicted with up to four arms, a third eye, a blue throat, matted hair, carrying a trident and a drum, is often accompanied by a serpent, and rides on the back of the sacred bull Nandi.
Ann: The first of Shiva's best-known attributes is his third eye, which he once used to burn the god of love, Kamadeva, to ashes. The effulgence from this act was so hot that not even the god of fire, Agni, could handle it, and was used to create the war god Kartikeya.
Kokonoe: Shiva also has a blue throat that was caused when he swallowed the most deadly poison in the world, Halahala, the poison of the primordial snake Vasuki, earning him the name Vishakantha, or one who held poison in his throat. This act is further proof of his benevolent and self-sacrificing nature.
Junko: This guy nullifies light and dark attacks and is resistant to physical attacks, magic, and ailments!
Neptune: He can restore health and magic power, charm any and all foes, and drain physical attacks while ignoring immunity, resistances, and weaknesses! He can use almighty attacks, heavy electric attacks, and extremely powerful physical attacks with a high critical rate!
Junko: Now we can get to Skadi.
Kokonoe: Alternatively referred to as Öndurguð or Öndurdís, Skadi is a jötunn, a giantess in Norse mythology. Associated with skiing, the hunt, and winter, she is the daughter of Thjazi, one-time wife of the god Njörður, and stepmother of Freyr and Freya. She absorbs physical attacks and is immune to light and curse techniques as well as ailments.
Neptune: She can make earthquakes, create heavy wind, increase one's strength and defense, negate buffs and debuffs, drain her opponent's health, or just mute them.
Ann: I guess now it's Chimera's turn. No not the one from Hunter x Hunter.
Kokonoe: Chimera is the monster offspring of Typhon and Echidna from Greek mythology, and is the sibling of Cerberus and Orthrus. This monster breathes fire and is made up of parts from different animals; the general ones being the body and head of a lion, with a goat's head sprouting in the middle, and a snake's head for a tail. Other accounts include the Chimera being a three-headed animal, with a dragon being the third head.
Junko: Either way it can absorb fire, nullify light, and is weak to nerve and mind techniques.
Ann: While its fire damage is weak, it can always increase its power. It can also decrease the opponent's physical attacks while dealing heavy physical damage itself.
Junko: It can also make its opponents panic or simply blow itself up for some mega almighty damage.
Neptune: Let's move from this kitty to Flaemis.
Ann: Flaemis is likely based on Fire Elementals, elementals formed from the element of fire, or spirits of fire. A Fire Elemental controls one of the four prime elements that compose the world. It is a fusion composed of "dryness" and "heat" essences. The ancient Greek concepts of the four basic elements significantly influenced early astrology.
Junko: As you can guess, it can absorb fire. It nullifies light and dark attacks but of course... it's weak to ice.
Ann: It can help allies and increase one magic power. It can deal low to medium fire damage to random opponents and can grant immunity to mind attacks, overriding resistances and weaknesses.
Neptune: Finally the Mitama.
Kokonoe: The Mitama are one of the four aspects of the human soul in Shinto teachings. They all resemble the Magatama but in 4 different directions, colors, and expressions. Literally, Ara Mitama represents "fluster/bravery" hence the angry expression, Saki Mitama "happiness/love," Kusi Mitama "wonder/wisdom" and Nigi Mitama "peace."
Junko: They all can nullify light, darkness, and ailments. One of them can increase your physical attacks and help you while another can increase your magic power while decreasing an opponent's defense.
Ann: The third one removes buffs from your opponent while increasing your agility. It can also impart resistance to fire, ice, wind, and electricity without covering for innate weaknesses. And finally, the fourth one can make the target fall asleep and deals medium fire and wind damage. It can restore a party's health and create shields that repel anything that isn't an Almighty attack.
Junko: Oh yeah, all of them can reveal a target's health, magic power, resistances, and skills.
Neptune: But we're only halfway done. See ya in part two!
