Both are pacifist teenage heroes who are hybrids due to their parents being a human from Earth (Debbie Grayson and Greg Universe respectively) and an alien from another planet (Omni-Man and Rose Quartz respectively), in which they gain powers from their alien heritage

Both are members of a heroic team (The Guardians of the Globe and the Crystal Gems respectively) in which they fight regularly aliens and monsters that invaded Earth

Both would eventually learn the terrible secret of their alien parents that had been hidden from them (Omni-Man had killed the original Guardians of the Globe, whereas Rose Quartz is revealed to be Pink Diamond) in which they're sent to Earth to conquer it by the empire they had served (The Viltrumite Empire and the Diamond Authority respectively).

Both would experience trauma as a result, but would later try to rectify the mistakes of their parent and race
