AKIRA vs Pokemon

Connection:

Both are famous psychic villains in which their respective franchises (AKIRA to Tetsuo and Pokemon to Mewtwo) inspired modern anime and whos powers are the result of a genetic mutation

Both are accidental results at an attempt to create a copycat of the original (Akira and Mew respectively) by the same scientists, one of them being the minimal remains of someone important in the story (Tetsuo's companions being several other psychic kids and Akira with Mewtwo's companions being the Kanto starters Charmander, Squirtle, Bulbasaur and Dr. Fuji's daughter Amber)

Both eventually confront their originals where they've displayed antagonistic personalities and abilities which are a contrast to their more kinder and childlike counterparts
