Vanessa: And Nero, son of Vergil and foul-mouthed Devil Hunter from Devil May Cry.

Randy: Nothing says like having a shitty life than being abandoned by one of your parents at an early age and losing an arm later on. But that doesn't stop these two monster slayers from making the best of their situation.

Vanessa: He's my dad Adam, that's Randy and I'm Vanessa.

Adam: And it's our job to analyze their weapons, armor and skills to find out who would win..... a DEATH BATTLE.

Adam: The planet Remnant is a desolate place, filled with creatures of darkness known as the Grimm. They are soulless creatures who nearly drove mankind to near extinction. Then one day, mankind discovered a power known as Dust that would help them fight these vile creatures. This Dust would help them in the war against the Grimm, and long lasting peace followed. In this moment, they strengthened themselves against the Grimm if they ever come back.

Randy: Mankind created Huntsman Academies to train teams of young boys and girls to slay the various monsters that roamed the world of Remnant. One of the students was named Yang Xiao Long. Yang was the daughter of Raven Branwen and Taiyang Xiao Long. At an early age her mother abandoned her, and her father became romantically involved with Summer Rose, who would eventually give birth to Ruby.

Vanessa: However, Summer is a Huntress and would go on to do missions. But then one day, she was killed. Losing both his loved ones sent Tai into a mental breakdown and Yang learned that Summer wasn't her biological mother, but Raven who had abandoned her upon giving birth. W-Wait, she only found out Summer wasn't her birth mother after she died? Not the fact, oh I don't know, that they totally had different hair colors and themes?!

Adam: Motivated to find out why her mother left her, one day, Yang attempted to follow up on what she thought was a clue to her whereabouts and waited until her father left the house and traveled to the location herself, wheeling Ruby in a wagon and walking until she was bruised and tired. Upon arriving at the building, Yang and Ruby were attacked and almost killed by three Beowolves.

Randy: Their uncle and Raven's brother, Qrow Branwen, thankfully, appeared just in time to save them. Yang was ashamed of her stubborn, brash actions, aware that she had almost gotten her younger sister killed, and resolved to continue searching for her mother while helping to raise Ruby, but also to not allow that search to consume her.

Vanessa: That's where she and Ruby attended Beacon Academy, joined up with Weiss Schnee and Blake Belladonna to form..... Team RWBY! *Sarcastic* How original.

Adam: Yang has a fighting style similar to Muay Thai and is physically one of the strongest members of Team RWBY. And like most Huntsmen and Huntresses, Yang has a weapon that functions as both a gun and a melee weapon: Ember Celica. These are shotgun gauntlets that can fire different types of ammo. Red being explosive, orange is suited for long range and has sticky grenades that have timers. She can also propel herself in the air by firing ammo away from her.

Vanessa: As with everyone living being on Remnant, Yang has an Aura and Semblance. Aura is the physical manifestation of the soul which grants protection and healing factor which can last until Aura runs out. And Yang's Semblance, Burn, give her the ability to absorb any hits she takes and dish it back with twice the damage. Also, did we mention she glows up like Super Saiyan whenever she uses it. More like "Super Sai-Yang" right?

Randy: That is, until Adam slice one of her arms off. But not to worry, she got a robotic arm which she can channel Aura through it and thus can still use her Semblance. It's even got a built in shotgun like Ember Celica and can detach it if it's caught. Talking about dis-"arming" them.

Adam: *Eyes twitching* ..... Remind me never to pair you two up again.

She's killed dozens if not hundreds of Grimm in her record, destroyed a Paladin with two punches after taking hits from said mech, melted steel cubes which are worth 326.037 Tons of TNT and bested Mercury Black twice. Mercury and Emerald could dodge summoned natural lightning from Amber. And with Blake's help they defeated Vine and Elm, the latter who can stop a charging Megoliath in its tracks.

Popup: RWBY: Arrowfell is considered canon due to how it takes place in Atlas and during the events of Volume 7.

Randy: Both also defeated Adam Taurus in a rematch despite his superior speed advantage. And this bootleg Vergil bested a Spider Droid who's particle beam can dish out 1.32 Megatons of TNT and move at 42.15% the speed of light.

Adam: And her strongest bombs could hurt Salem, who threw a huge Grimm sludge that broke Atlas' shields. We can determine the sludge weighs 2,270,869,563 metric tons and thus would wield an energy output of over 407.54 Gigatons of TNT. Though keep in mind this is a huge highball given Salem immediately overpowered her after recovering.

Randy: She's also a hothead figuratively and literally, rushing into to fights without any form of plans and is noticeably struggling against foes who're much faster and specialized in kicks. And Yang ahs suffered PTSD from time to time after Adam cut her arm off which she eventually overcame when she and Blake killed him.

Vanessa: But in the end of the day, Yang is a formidable warrior who can stand up to any challenge in front of her, thanks to her confidence.

Yang: Yeah, I'm scared. But I'm still standing here! I'm not like you, I won't run, which is why you're going to give me the Relic.

Nero Devil Triggers on DEATH BATTLE

Adam: The Order of the Sword is a religious group who worships the legendary dark knight Sparda for his crusade against his own kind in order to protect humanity. Kind of ironic though that one of Sparda's descendants is within their members, and they don't even know it.

Vanessa: Anyways, a long time ago, the eldest and most power hungry son of Sparda, the Dark Slayer Vergil, visited the city the Order of the Sword was based in, searching for answers to attaining his father's immeasurable power, and although he left empty handed, he did leave something behind; a son called Nero.

Randy: Nero was your typical angsty teenager and black sheep amongst a white flock, but he always made time to get to church, although he only ever stuck around because of his girlfriend Kyrie.

Vanessa: But all that changed the day an expected visitor literally dropped into the church for a visit, and no, it wasn't to donate to the church's roof, but to stop a conspiracy to engulf the world in demons, and allow the Order to rise to power.

Adam: But it took a while for Dante to convince Nero of this, and he did so with the best present ever; the legendary sword Yamato. With Nero on his side, Dante was able to bring down the Order of the Sword, and with the organization finished, Nero went on to forge his own path as a demon hunter.

Vanessa: Being part demon and son of a powerful one means Nero's physical capabilities are beyond that of mere human, having enhanced strength, the ability to heal and is proficient with his sword and gun Red Queen and Blue Rose respectively. Red Queen is a anti-demon sword that can cut most demons down to sizes. Blue Rose has an under and over barrel that can fire two shots though not simultaneously, the top can deliver armor piercing shots whereas the under deals the most damage. But his deadliest is his Devil Bringer arm.

Adam: The Devil Bringer can absorb items like Yamato and Evil Legacy and is usually in the form of a spectral arm. It's even tough enough to take hits from Dante's Rebellion and this is the same sword that block attacks from Yamato, a powerful Devil Arm that can create portals and is said to be so sharp that it can cut through "anything it touches".

Popup: Nero briefly possessed Yamato in Devil May Cry 4. However, after Vergil took the Devil Bringer arm from Nero in Devil May Cry 5, he can no longer use it.

Randy: That was until it was stolen from him by his own father Vergil. Father of the year right there people. Not to worry, Nico gave him several robotic arms called Devil Breakers, which are gained after defeating certain demons. Each one has their own unique abilities such as electrical powers, used as a whip, slowing down time and even let Nero fly. The only catch though is they're easily breakable when enough force is dealt.

Adam: But after discovering Vergil is his father and vowing not to let him and Dante kill each other, Nero's determination not only lets him regain the Devil Bringer, albeit being more human-like and in the form of spectral arms, but also unleashed his true demonic powers and gained a new ability: Devil Trigger! His strength skyrockets and is able to hold off an equally Devil Triggered Dante and Vergil.

Popup: Nero technically possessed two Devil Triggers. However the first one is connected to his Devil Bringer which he previously can't accessed after losing it, but eventually gained a new one near the end of Devil May Cry 5.

Randy: Nero has taken one many of the strongest demons out there. He's tangled with the likes of Berial and Blitz, dodged Artemis' lightspeed lasers and can be comparable to low tier demons like Fury, who can move through space-time with pure speed. He's also bested Dante on their first encounter. While Dante admits he underestimated Nero, he also said Nero could match or surpass him in brute strength. For reference, Dante blocked a punch from the Savior who, comparing his size to both Nero and Dante, weighs 7737.8 metric tons.

Adam: Nero himself destroyed the Savior's head with his Devil Bringer, who had enough power to create and sustain multiple dimension with a sun and moon and some of that power was drawn from Nero. And by the end of Devil May Cry Nero is stronger than Nightmare, which is repeatedly stated to be being able to destroy the Demon World.

Vanessa: And his Devil Trigger form is strong enough to stop Dante and Vergil in their Sin Devil Trigger forms, which is essentially equivalent of a Super Saiyan holding back a Super Saiyan 3. Hell, Nero defeated Vergil in combat which is no small feat since he bested Dante on their first encounter as well and nearly bested a weakened Mundus, only losing because he was injured from his fight with Dante earlier that time.

Vanessa: But even Devil Hunters have their weaknesses. Nero is cocky and arrogant like his father and would've been killed by Dante in their rematch since Dante took him seriously. And despite his healing factor, he nearly died from blood loss when Vergil severed his Devil Bringer arm.

Adam: And unlike Dante's Rebellion and Vergil's Yamato, Nero's Red Queen, Blue Rose and Devil Breakers can be easily broken if hit with enough force. And remember that while Nero did hold both Dante and Vergil back, it's unclear if he can fight either of them at their strongest. Oh and don't try calling him "Deadweight", he's a bit sensitive on that part.

Randy: But even if Nero is only the third generation of the Sparda bloodline, he's proved capable of standing with his father, uncle and grandfather as amongst the greatest demon hunters out there.

Nero: So..... devils cry, huh? Let's hear what that SOUNDS LIKE!

Cathedral

Nero marched through the cathedral, seeking out any demons that may be hiding there. Something sitting on the alter caught his eye and he walked over to pit it up; it was a glass vial filled with a blue dust-like substance. He looked at it curiously

Nero: What is this stuff?

???: Ahem.

He heard the tapping of another person's footsteps over the marble ground, and he turned to see a blonde girl with a robotic right arm walking towards him.

Yang: I believe you've found something that belongs to Ice Queen.

She extended her hand.

Yang: Hand it over please.

Rather than comply, however, Nero smirked and pocketed the vial.

Nero: Sorry sweetheart, finders keepers.

Yang frowned and unsheathed Ember Celica from both arms, taking a boxing stance.

Yang: Looks like I'm going have to take it from you then.

Nero draws Red Queen from his back and stabbed it into the ground.

Nero: Then be prepared to get your ass whooped.

He revved the handle of the Red Queen, igniting the blade and he charged forward, dragging the sword along the ground as he did.

FIGHT!

When he came within range, Nero swung the flaming sword upwards at Yang, who leaned back to avoid the upwards slash, and when Nero swung it back down, Yang countered by raising her cybernetic arm to block the attack. She cocked her other arm back and threw it forward to fire a round from Ember Celica, only for him to strafe to the side and then unleash a three slash attack, all of which Yang blocked with her robotic arm.

Although his slashes were deflect, Nero tried for a fourth one, which resulted in Red Queen getting locked with Yang's metallic arm. Taking advantage of this, Nero headbutts Yang back which made her stagger before the Devil Hunter pointed his Blue Rose gun directly in front of Yang's face. The girl's eyes widened and she dodged her head to the side as the bullet tore through the space where her head had been a second ago, but this resulted in some of her hair getting torn off, much to her anger.

Yang: Bastard!

Eyes flashing red, Yang slams her human fist right into Nero's face followed by a shot, knocking Nero dozens of feet back. In response, Nero leapt into the air over the Huntress' head as he fired shots from Blue Rose, all of which were countered by Yang's own with Ember Celica. Nero landed behind Yang, stowed away Blue Rose and swung the Red Queen around in a wide arc as he whipped around. A swing that was dodged by Yang underneath it, and in sequence Yang punches Nero in the chest that pushed him back several steps.

Not letting up on her assault, Yang dashed forward and planted several sticky grenades to his chest and punched him away before detonating them, causing an explosion that obscured him from her view, but her smirk showed she was confident she had left some damage. The smirk vanished immediately as the smoke revealed Nero unharmed, and having equipped the Devil Breaker Overture.

Nero: Nice trick blondie, wanna see one of mine? It's shocking!

On his robotic arm, he exchanged Overture for Gerbera and activated its Break Way, unleashing dozens of ricocheting shots that Yang was forced to duck and dodge. After avoiding the last couple of shots, Yang changed her red ammo for orange and fired multiple rounds at the Devil Hunter, who rolled forward to avoid the attack.

As he charged at Yang, Nero equipped Helter Skelter and thrust it forward at his opponent. However, Yang ducks under the Devil Breaker and with a yell, repeatedly punches Nero in the chest before knocking him back with  punch and ammo combo from Ember Celica, sending him flying backwards.

He crashed against one of the stone walls, Helter Skelter breaking on impact and he slumped down, breathing out heavily even as his healing factor kicked in. Yang grinned and placed her hands on her hips.

Yang: Aw, what's wrong there pal? Mad that you're dis-arm-ed? Those metal arms must be "deadweight".

Hearing that one word made Nero's eyebrow twitched violently. 

Nero: Fuck you!

Before Yang knew it, she could feel something cold and metallic and looked down to see the whip of Rawhide wrapped around her leg. Her eyes widened, but before she could react, Nero pulled the whip upwards, dragging Yang into the air with a yell before slamming her down onto the ground, knocking the wind out of her before Nero pulled her forward into his range so that he could slash her with his sword. Fortunately, Yang's Aura held up against the attack, although she was still sent flying backwards.

To bring herself out of this, Yang turned herself in the air and propels herself up into the air and fired red and orange ammos at Nero. Nero parried, blocked or deflected some of them but they were still too many. Fortunately, he had the right Devil Breaker for the job.

The moment Yang propelled herself down to throw another punch, Nero whipped around to face her, the Devil Breaker Ragtime equipped. From it, a blue orb was shot out, and when Yang entered it, she was slowed down, leaving her open for Nero to counter attack.

Nero: Gotcha!

Yang's eyes widened as Nero detached Ragtime towards her, leaping backwards as he did, before the Devil Breaker exploded, engulfing Yang in a fireball and cloud of smoke. Nero smirked in apparent victory, but his eyed widened when Yang emerged from the smoke, hair glowing and eyes turning crimson red.

Yang: Playtime's over buddy!

The enraged Huntress slams her fists together before dashing forward and throws a punch with Nero blocked, but was sent skidding backswords. Yang is relentless though and delivers left and right hooks to Nero's chest in consecutive hits before throwing a punch that knocked him back.

Taking advantage of this, Nero activated his Punch Line Devil Breaker, turning it into a missile which he then leapt upon to ride it. Yang's eyes widened in astonishment which then quickly turned into panic when Nero steered the missile towards her and fired multiple rounds at the Devil Hunter. Nero swerved around the attack before leaping off the missile, sending it right into the projectiles, producing an explosion. As he was still in the air, the Devil Hunter bore down on Yang with a downwards slash.

Which was suddenly caught by Yang's prosthetic arm. She took advantage of his stunned state by pulling Red Queen and, with her human arm cocked back, punched Nero as hard as she can in the gut, making him spit out blood as he was sent flying into a wall and causing smoke to appear. Yang took deep breaths as she panted.

Yang: How'd you like them apples, deadwei-

Suddenly, a blue beam of light shot upwards from where Nero was where it was revealed that he not only had the Devil Bringer on his right arm but also tapped into his strongest form: Devil Trigger!

Nero: Time to end this blondie!

Needing to end this, Yang let out a war cry as she propels herself towards Nero and threw wild punches, but in this form, Nero effortlessly dodge all of them before grabbing Yang's robot arm and, with to Yang's horror, shattered it with ease. Yang tried to throw her other arm, but Nero draw Red Queen and sliced it off the the same area as her right, making Yang scream in pain as she was completely helpless with the loss of both arms.

Nero: *Mockingly* Who's di-arm-ed now?

Nero then punched her in the gut, shattering her Aura and knocking the wind out of her. As she gasped out, Nero grabbed her by the face and hurled her towards the statue at the end of the cathedral, before following suit and throwing his Devil Bringer arm to punch her. The end result was Yang getting engulfed in a giant explosion that also destroyed the the statue. The smoke cleared to reveal her lower half falling down. Nero sighed out as he exited Devil Trigger.

Nero: Damn, Dante was right; you never meet any nice girls anymore.

KO!

* Nero can be seen limping away before being found by Kyrie and Nico.

* The remaining strands of Yang's hair flew away along with the wind with her lower half still smoking.

Results

(Devil May Burn Vocal Version again)

Randy: Oof, talk about overkill.

Vanessa: Yang's better training, Aura and Semblance made her no slouch, but Nero had too many advantages for her to overcome. Nero's Devil Breakers offered many abilities and powers Yang has struggled nor defend against like time manipulation from Ragtime and Aura's healing factor isn't quite as potent compared to Nero's.

Adam: Yang could take a punch from a Paladin which is 1450 tons, but Nero destroyed the Savior, who Dante blocked a punch from which is 7737.8 tons, that's 53.4 times than Yang's best durability. And the strength comparison didn't help much too. the best she can scale to is Adam beating that Spider Droid whose particle beam can dish out 1.3 Megatons of TNT, but Nero easily bested Echidna who made a huge storm that's calculated to be 265.19 Megatons of TNT, over 204 times more powerful.

Popup: While Blue Rose has less ammo than Ember Celica, it still has the advantage of being able to fire at a much faster rate than Ember Celica. 

Randy: Even if we directly scaled Yang to Salem who tossed that Grimm sludge worth 407.54 Gigatons of TNT, it wasn't enough as Nero destroyed the Savior whose powers could sustain multiple dimensions that had a sun and moon and some of that belonged was drawn from Nero.

Adam: Now sure, Yang's Semblance may allow her to deal serious damage and theoretically overwhelm him before his healing factor kicks in, but that's assuming she can consistently hit Nero with every punch. Yang may scale to Adam moving at 42.15% the speed of light, but Nero could dodge Artemis' lasers which are stated to be lightspeed and comparable to Fury who can move through space-time with pure speed. So even if Yang could take Nero's strongest hits, it wouldn't have mattered if she can't hit him in the first place. And remember her Semblance serves as a double edge sword as she takes the full force of each hit which drains her Aura and no Aura means no Semblance.

Vanessa: While both had a history of losing their robotic arms, only Yang is at a severe disadvantage without hers while Nero can simply attach another Devil Breaker which he has 8 in total. Plus Nero has bested foes with one arm before and actually has more solo combat experience than Yang. And I think it's safe to safe demons are a far more deadlier threat than the Grimm. Oh and all of those feats and calculations we've mentioned? Yeah all of those were done without Nero even going Devil Trigger, which multiplies his powers even more. Yang had no such counter to that, at all.

Adam: Yang was one of the best Huntresses in Remnant, but she couldn't stand up to Nero's greater stats, varied abilities, solo combat experience, Devil Breakers and Devil Trigger form. 

Randy: She though she could Yang in there, but in the end, this Huntress just hot Burned. Guess Ruby May Cry over her.

Vanessa: Yeah this will definitely Trigger RWBY fans.

Adam: ..... The winner is Nero.

+ Greater regeneration

+ Blue Rose can fire much faster than Ember Celica.....

- ..... but it has less ammo to carry

- Majority of his attacks are physical, which will fuel Yang's Semblance

- Not as formally trained
