Kira: And Maxwell McGrath, the Takion-human hybrid warrior of N-Tek dubbed Max Steel.

Zen: When two teenage heroes with the power of technology collide, only one can one out on top. Nanites against T.U.R.B.O. energy. That's my older sister Ziana Thundrice, she's Kira Romanov and I'm Zen Thundrice.

Ziana: And it's our job to analyze their weapons, armor and skills to find out who would win..... a DEATH BATTLE.

Ziana: The world was plagued by EVOs or Exponentially Variegated Organisms, lifeforms that are people who ere infected by Nanites that they caught which turns them into various types of monsters upon being activated. The EVOs were created thanks to the Nanite Event. See, the scientists there were experimenting on nanotechnology which they called the Nanite Project.

Kira: During which a 10-year old Rex Salazar, son of scientists Rafael and Violeta Salazar working there, got into an accident to which forced them to infuse nanites to save his life. However, Caesar, Rex's brother, and their parents didn't want the Meta-Nanites to fall into the wrong hands and later sabotaged it.

Zen: Buuuut the explosion killed the parents and sent Caesar, who was in his research pod out of Earth. One of the scientists caught in the blast, Van Kleiss survives but gained powers and decided use them for his nefarious plans. The catastrophe led to the formation of the Providence organization. Rex survived as well but had amnesia and got caught in a bad crowd which results in him transforming as a giant EVO.

Ziana: Rex met Six when he turned back and after seeing him cure an EVO, Six took him back to Providence to show his curing powers. Of course, we've seen enough movies to know some people will try to dissect that person for some sort of cure and you're right when Dr. Fell and White Knight captured Rex to open him up.

Kira: Unfortunately the nanites activated subconsciously upon reacting to the danger, and while Fell was fired and replaced by Holiday, White Knight was cured. Despite his mistrust and even ordering Six to Rex him if he turns, White Knight inducted him into Providence, using curing powers to stop all EVOs.

Zen: Hm, a governmental person that hates a superhuman saving the planet who also works for him. Why does that sound familiar?

Ziana: He's voiced by J.K Simmons, who also did Omni-Man and Sam Raimi's J. Jonah Jameson.

Ziana: Thanks to the nanites, Rex can morph parts of his body into any technology he can think of. His go-to are the massive orange gauntlets called Smack Hands to literally throw hands or. But if the EVO proves a bit tougher and requires a lot resort, he can summon the B.F.S. or Big Fat Sword to slice them to bits. If Rex needs to chase down his opponent, he can either fly with the Boogie Pack, jump large distances with Punk Busters or go Need for Speed with the Rex Ride which can go over 200 miles per hour. The Slam Cannon is Rex's ideal long range weapon, but cannot produce its own ammo, instead requiring the back on the back to collect solid material to make it.

Popup: Rex once gained Godhood via the Meta-Nanites which granted him control over Gravity, Matter, Anti-Matter, Energy, Space-Time, Elements of nature, and Technology. However, he ordered them to shut down permanently so that they couldn't fall into the wrong hands.

Kira: Originally Rex runs on a limited supply of nanites. But thanks to the Omega Nanites he gained, he not only has an infinite resource to use but also gained new abilities. The Blast Caster can function as either a whip or deliver electricity while wrapped around the target. The Funchucks can deliver blunt damage but also deliver a devastating energy pulse when slammed together.

Zen: The Bad Axes are energized blades which can cut a Providence jet fighter with one slice and the Block Party. The Sky Slyder is easily Rex's fastest mode of transportation and he can transform into his Omega EVO form if the situation calls for it. Made easier for the fact he can use two modes as long as they don't use the same parts.

Kira: Rex has defeated many EVOs throughout his career, including the likes of the Consortium, Breach and Van Kleiss. The Consortium all had similar abilities yet Rex fought them all to a standstill even when they combined. He's defeated Van Kleiss in most of their encounters and survived the explosion that killed his parents which, based on the size of the explosion, is around 617 Megatons of TNT.

Ziana: And in their crossover Heroes United, Rex fought Ben 10 to a standstill, battling his aliens Humungousaur, Diamondhead, Lodestar and Rath. The same Humungousaur who's been confirmed to be able to lift a To'kustar like Waybig. And together they both defeated Alpha, who had Rex's Omega Nanites and Ben's aliens combined.

Zen: He even scored a 98% on a trigonometry test. And with the Meta-Nanites, Rex used them to cure the entire world of EVOs, with only the Consortium and The Pack escaping thanks to Breach.

Kira: Another thing is that he needs to offload the nanites he cured from EVOs or else he loses control of them and has a limited supply of nanites to use. Though this has been solved thanks to the Omega Nanites.

Ziana: But even if Rex is the only EVO left, he still decides to use his powers to make the world a better place.

Rex: If people want to hate me, I can't stop them. But it's not going to stop me from doing my job. You wanna know why? Because I'm awesome.

Zen: Planet Takion came under attack by a race called the Ultralinks, intent on absorbing their T.U.R.B.O. (Tachyon Unlimited Radiant Bio-Optimized Energy) energy and expanding their influence for the glory of their leader Makino. One Takonian warrior named Ja'em Mk'rah was fending off many Ultralinks when he was approached by one name N'Baro Aksteel X377, or commonly known as Steel, who seeks to bond with. Jim questioned why his planet was attacked and that there's no glory in killing innocent lives which made Steel doubt their ways.

Ziana: However when Ja'em was attacked by a Xenoshok, Steel bonds with him and the the resulting blast of energy kill the creature. But it was too late as Makino used the Alphalink to devour Takion. Jim and Steel used a ship of Ja'em to escape to Earth which was Makino's next target. There he went by the name Jim McGrath and formed N-Tek with Molly Ferrus, Forge Ferrus and Miles Dread to stop Makino's invasion of Earth as well as making the Turbo Star and Morphos, though the latter was shut down due to being considered more dangerous than even Makino himself.

Kira: After repelling, Jim and Molly married and had a son, Maxwell MacGrath. However, Miles was making a device that harnesses T.U.R.B.O. for his own gain. However things went wrong as it causes an explosion that nearly kills him, Jim and ultimately shutting down Steel for 16 years. However, things changed when Max, who turned 16, was running away from bullies and let out a massive explosion of T.U.R.B.O. energy which caught Forge's attention.

Ziana: Forge introduced Max to N-Tek and kept him in a chamber to keep his power under control. But he too caused an explosion there that wrecks the place. Fortunately, Steel was reactivated and bonds with Max to keep his powers maintained. Despite their rocky start and being captured, Max and Steel became best friends and whenever they fused, they become the one and only, Max Steel!

Kira: Max has your basic superhuman strength, speed and durability in addition to be able to generate huge T.U.R.B.O. Energy thanks to his Takonian heritage. But Max's bread and butter are his Turbo Modes, which he and Max can tap into upon fusing. Strength Mode is obviously super strong, Flight Mode grants him the ability to fly, Cannon Mode will launch him at his desired target like an actual cannon and Speed Mode goes from 0 to 100,000 mph.

Zen: He can whip at a distance with Spike Mode, attack at long range with either Heat, Rocket or Nova Modes and with Clone Mode, Max can duplicate the Turbo Mode he uses like with Cannon Mode. Scuba Modes allows Max to swim in cold temperatures and withstand ocean pressures. And if he's in need of a giant form to battle Kaiju-sized opponents, his Titan Mode can match your expectations.

Popup: Max also learned Duo Strike which allows him to fuse two Turbo Modes at once. Known Duo Strike modes are Cannon Spike, Hydro Heat and Sonic Flight Modes.

Kira: However, in Turbo-Charged, a villain named Terrorax permanently separated Max and Steel in order to gain a portion of Max's energy-

Zen: Which, I'm sorry, has gotta be the stupidest thing they've ever done. Hellooooo! The series is named Max Steel! What's the point of calling the show that anymore when Max and Steel are unable to fuse?! Why name that show Max Steel anymore?! Who the fuck came up with this idea?! Why I oughta-

Kira: *Shocked*A-Anyways, after being tortured for hours, Max reached his limits and generated a new variation called Green T.U.R.B.O, which was so potent that Steel can't control it, but it's far stronger than its blue predecessor and doesn't destroy electronic devices when touched.

Ziana: And don't worry, for this battle Max will retain his Turbo Modes.

Ziana: Max and Steel proved themselves to be a formidable duo. Max could take hits from nuclear blasts, survived falling from skyscrapers and lift 72,000 tons without much trouble. And with their powers combined, they are capable of defeating a lot of villains who either seek to take Max's T.U.R.B.O. Energy or take over the Earth such as Miles Dread, Extroyer, Morphos, the Elementors, Mortum, Makino and Terrorax.

Zen: *Wakes up and groans* Which is definitely a resume to look at cause many of them are capable of destroying planets. Max in Turbo Cannon Mode took hits from Fire, Water, Earth and Earth Elementors before taking them all down in one shot. Even then Max Steel bested their fused forms Ultimate and Mega Elementor with Metal Elementor.

Kira: But those guys paled in comparison to Morphos, Makino and Terrorax. Max overpowered Makino who made a drill with enough power to split the Earth in half and easily bested Morphos, who copied the abilities of the Elementors, Miles Dread, Extroyer and Toxzon. But his greatest fight was with Terrorax in his Dragon Mode, whose Terror Energy can annihilate at a molecular level and can output 19.02 Yottatons of TNT. Yet Max was able to best him.

Weaknesses

if Max is separated from Steel for more than 8 hours, Max will overload with T.U.R.B.O. Energy and then will explode, causing his death

If Max is separated from Steel, he can get stuck in a specific Turbo Mode, which can be bad depending the occasion. For example, in Turbo Deep Star Sea, Max got stuck in Turbo Scuba Mode, which made it very difficult to defeat Metal Elementor and the other Ultralinks, since the mode doesn't have super-strength or any special attribute other than its underwater capabilities, such as swimming at high speed.

Max can still get tired

And since he needs Steel to change Turbo Modes, he can get in a bad situation if they get separated while Max is stuck in a form that's not suited for the situation. Like the time Max was stuck in Scuba Mode which only has super swimming capabilities and not ideal to fight Metal Elementor since it lacks super strength.

Zen: *Sighs* Though that is no longer the issue when Terrorax permanently separated them. And even then Steel had been kidnapped a lot.

Ziana: But whatever comes their way, Max and Steel will be there to save the day.

Max: It's not easy to be proud of something that makes me so different.

In the dead of night, two blurs can be seen racing, the first being white and blue being chased by the second blur colored orange, red and gray. It's Max Steel in Turbo Speed Mode and Rex on his Rex Ride and the Slam Cannon at hand as he fires shot after shot against the alien-human hybrid.

Rex: Stay still and let me hit you, will ya?!

Turns out they encountered each other earlier, with Rex mistaking Max as being part of the Consortium after witnessing him transform and defeating an EVO which led to the latter running away and making Rex give chase.

Max: After you attacked me first?! Not a chance!

Max then turns and begins spinning around Rex in circles, leaving him unable get a direct hit. Rex then had the idea of aiming his Slam Cannon down and fires a shot, creating a boom that knocks Max off his feet, sending him tumbling across the ground several feet away, making him groan in pain.

Rex stops his Rex Ride a dozen feet from Max before forming his Smack Hands.

Rex: Then it's time to take you out!

As Max got up to face the EVO, Max's partner Steel glows from his chest.

Steel: Well this guy ain't gonna back down, Max. Let's show him what we've got!

Max: Right! Go, Turbo! Strength!

Max enters Turbo Strength Mode and charges at Rex with his his right arm cocked back with Rex's left Smack Hand doing the same.

FIGHT!

Their fists collide, create a shockwave that shattered nearby windows. The two humans then start boxing each other, one parrying a strike while the other counterattacks and vice versa. This went on before Max gets the upper hand and throws a solid right hook that sends Rex skidding back. Max went on the offensive by jumping forward and throwing his arms forwards at Rex who blocks with his Smack Hands, creating a small creating beneath him.

Rex struggles to hold him back before using his Punk Busters to jump away at the last second, causing Max to land where Rex was second ago. Rex immediately uses his Slam Cannon to gather ammo and fire a rocky projectile at Max. The Takion-human easily destroys it but was unprepared for Rex to dash forward and slams his right Punk Buster into Max, causing him to go flying into the air with Rex using his Boogie Pack to follow them.

Max: Go, Turbo! Flight!

He and Steel transform into Flight Mode and the two raced each other in the sky, trying to hit each other. Max was nearly hit by Rex's grappling hooks but he swerves away in time.

Max: Chew on this!

Max shifts into his Rocket Mode and fires multiple T.U.R.B.O. energy blasts at Rex, landing a direct hit as Rex's Boogie Pack was destroyed and he is sent falling. Max follows him down but Rex summons the Funchucks and slams them together, creating a powerful energy pulse that struck the duo.

Max and Steel: Whoa!

They screamed as they were hit and were sent careening down with Rex and they slam into the ground, creating smoke from their fall. Max reverts back to his Base Mode as he groans from the impact.

Max: Ugh, that hurts.

Steel: Oh please, you'll be fine if you just- Max look out!

Max heard Steel and ducks in time to avoid being decapitated by Rex's Big Fat Sword. Rex delivered a few more swings before one of the hits Max to knock him back.

Rex: I'm just getting started!

He morphs his B.F.S to the Blast Caster and wraps the whip around Max before electrocuting him, making him scream in pain from the intense attack before launching him into a wall.

Steel: Oh you're so getting your butt kicked for that, mister!

Max: Two can play this game pal!

Max activates Turbo Clone Mode before using his Turbo Spike Mode before attacking Rex with the T.U.R.B.O. spiked whips. The human EVO yelps in pain as he is outnumbered and tries in vain to shield himself

Rex: Ow, ow, ow ow! Stop that!

Steel: *Mocking* Not so funny now, is it?

After getting brutally whipped for a while, Rex casts the Block Party to shield himself from the attacks. Eventually, the repeated use his Modes tires Max out and he pants as he reverts back to his base form. This provides Rex the moments he needs and he uses the Funchucks to make another energy pulse that knocks Max on his ass.

Rex immediately jumps on Max and placed a hand on his chest, where Steel would be.

Steel: Uh-oh.

Rex: Time to end this!

Neon blue lines formed on Rex's hand and Max's chest as he begins to cure Max, but after a few seconds, nothing happened.

Rex: H-Huh?!

The human EVO is stunned that Max was not cured, which Steel takes advantage of.

Steel: Now Max!

Max yells as he generates a huge burst of TURBO Energy that knocks Rex off him. Rex lands on his feet but looks at Max with a questioning look as the Takion-human stands on his feet.

Rex: How that's possible? You don't have Nanites on your body? You're not even an EVO, are you?

Max: Don't know what this EVO means, but I'm not going down that easily!

Max turns into his Turbo Prime Mode and draws his Connect-Tek Swords, to which Rex retaliates with his Bad Axes before they both clashed blades. After a flurry of white and neon blue slashes, Max destroys the Bad Axes before kicking Rex away. Far from finished, however, Rex summons his Big Fat Sword and charges back with his weapon poised to swing.

In response, Max swing his own sword, the Connect-Tek Sword and shatters the B.F.S with ease, to Rex's shock and horror. He then headbutts the human EVO away which knocks him into a pile of rubble. Max then begin to run over, intent on finishing him for good. However, a huge blue light bursts forth from the rubble which forces Max to shield his eyes.

When he lowered his arms, he looks on in shock as a huge gray and blue metallic being rose and its eyes glared down on him as Rex resorts to transforming into his full Omega EVO form.

Steel: Crap! He's ginormous!

Rex swings his arms down and smacks Max and Steel dozens of feet into a building, causing a hole. Just then, a huge burst of T.U.R.B.O. energy explodes seconds later and moments after that several T.U.R.B.O. charged energy shots struck Rex in the face, making him cover his face in pain. Out of the hole is Max in Turbo Nova Mode, who proceeds to pelt Rex with more shots that forces him back.

Enraged, Rex tries to stomp on Max, but he evades in time and gets a good distance away from Rex's Omega EVO form.

Steel: Why don't you pick on someone your own size pal! Show him everything we've got Max!

Max: It's all or nothing! Go, Turbo! Titan!

Max undergoes one of his biggest and strongest transformations to date: Turbo Titan Mode. Max cracks his knuckles as he gets into a fighting stance as he and Rex star each other down. Both then ran at each other and threw their fists which collided and creates a powerful shockwave that damaged multiple buildings.

Rex throws two more punches, but Max blocks them both before ducking under the third one and delivers a devastating uppercut that knocks Rex into the air before grabbing his legs and spun around several times before throwing him away several miles away before jumping after him and dropkicks him down the pavement.

Rex rolls over to avoid getting his head punched before getting up and grapples with Max. Both giant-sized fighters gave it their all, but Max's greater strength gave him the edge and he pulls Rex in for a headbutt before grabbing his face and knees him repeatedly slams his knee against Rex's face.

Max then tosses Rex up into the air and summons two giant blades before jumping up to follow him. Rex launches both of his arms forward, but Max deflects them with his swords and with a yell, slashes Rex's Omega EVO form into three pieces, killing him as his remains falls to the ground. Max lands on his feet before a huge blue flash covers him and he reverts to his Turbo Base Mode panting.

Steel: That..... was wild.

KO!

* Max transforms into his Turbo Speed Mode and zooms away, presumably to N-Tek.

* Six begins calling Rex from his communicator in a futile effort to find his location.

Results

Zen: Damn, seeing these two utilize such technology intrigues me. Maybe we can use them to make hunting Monsters back in Astera, Seliana, Kamura and Elgado so much easier.

Ziana: Rex and Max have multiple forms that seem to match each other at first glance. Smack Hands against Turbo Strength Mode, Rex Ride against Turbo Speed Mode, Boogie Pack against Turbo Flight Mode, Blast Caster against Turbo Spike Mode, Omega EVO against Turbo Titan Mode, etc. Both also have similar experience fighting against foes who shared similar powers as them. In reality though, Max simply outclassed Rex in more ways than one.

Kira: While it's true Max needs Steel to keep his T.U.R.B.O. Energy in check, Rex is over reliant on his Nanites seeing as he's mostly human without them, whereas Max has displayed superhuman strength and durability on his own due to his Takonian heritage. And while both survived taking hits from lightning, deep ocean pressures and extreme velocities that can kill an average person, Rex has never shown taking planet busting hits like Max does whenever he fights the Elementors, Miles Dread, Extroyer, Makino, Mortum, Morphos and Terrorax.

Popup: While Rex was technically smarter, Max and Steel could count on each other and form strategies while on the fly.

Zen: Even Rex's Omega-EVO form, one of his strongest machines, wasn't much of help seeing as he was only able to hold his own against the fused Consortium shortly before getting overpowered since he was more focused on regaining his lost memories than fighting them. In comparison, Max's Turbo Titan Mode is able to contend with Makino's Turbo Annihilation Mode, which made a drill strong enough to split Earth in two had Max and Steel not stopped him.

Kira: And before you bring Rex's crossover with Ben 10, I should remind you Ben only used Humungousaur, Rath, Lodestar and Diamondhead against Rex. While they're strong in their own rights, they pale in comparison to the likes of Way Big, Gravattack, Atomix and Alien X, all of which Ben never used against Rex in their fight.

Ziana: But the final nail in Rex's coffin are their very power sources. T.U.R.B.O. Energy is way different from Nanites since it came from the planet Takion, an otherworldly source of energy unlike Nanites which originated from Earth. Meaning he can't "cure" Max in rid him of T.U.R.B.O. Energy. Made even worse by the fact T.U.R.B.O. Energy is known to interfere or disrupt electronic devices which Rex's machines are.

Popup: Even then Max's Green T.UR.B.O Energy could counter Rex's "curing" as it resisted Terrorax's Terror Energy, which can destroy technology at the molecular level. 

Zen: But wait, what about those Meta Nanites? It was explicitly stated to be able to "rip apart the very fabric of the universe". Wouldn't Rex be able to win with that?

Kira: The problem is that it's not in character for Rex to simply erase Max and Steel seeing how he only used the Meta-Nanites to rid the Earth barring himself of EVOs and shortly after using them, Rex permanently deactivates, meaning Rex can no longer call upon the Meta-Nanites.

Ziana: Rex was a worthy adversary, but Max's large arsenal of Turbo Modes, T.U.R.B.O. Energy and ultimately greater raw power at his disposal netted him the win.

Zen: Rex may have nerves of Steel, but Max went Turbo to claim the victory.

Ziana: The winner is Maxwell McGrath and Steel.
