Randy: And Mogo, DC Comics' Green Lantern planet.

Greg: We've seen all sorts of combatants throughout the years, be it official or fanon, but today we're pitting two literal planets against each other.

Randy: He's Shadow, that's Greg and I'm Randy.

Shadow: And it's our job to analyze their weapons, armor and skills to find out who would win..... a DEATH BATTLE.

Shadow: Created by the Cosmic Entity known as the Stranger, Ego was a brain-like Celestial that used his matter manipulating ability to construct a planet-like shell around himself in the Black Galaxy.

Greg: Having long forgot his origins while pondering his existence, his fellow Celestials mostly dying out, Ego sought purpose and meaning as he created an avatar body to explore the universe for life besides himself.

Randy: But he became disillusioned by what he saw, becoming a genocidal megalomaniac with a god complex filled with a desire of universal conquest. But various heroes like Thor and the Guardians of the Galaxy put him down a peg. Oh and he's Star-Lord's father but that's MCU exclusive only.

Greg: Ego possesses unfathomable power thanks to his unique biology. He has strength that rivaled that of Galactus, has psionic abilities like telepathy, can fire energy beams from his eyes, form tentacles and absorb all kinds of energy as well. And being Celestial means he has immortality, as in longevity and all that.

Shadow: He's capable of altering his planet size at will, but he can create avatars if he's fighting someone his large size can't target or just make an object big like when he turned an ant as big as a human once.

Randy: And don't worry, should anyone somehow bypassed his defenses and enter his core, Ego can create anti-bodies to fight them off. And being a sentient planet allows him to change the environment other other living beings to survive on his body.

Defeated Silver Surfer, Thor, Galactus and Guardians of the Galaxy

Competes with the likes of Thor and Galactus

Randy: Ego is earned his reputation of being of the strongest beings in Marvel. He's battled the likes of Thor and Galactus, bested the Silver Surfer twice and withstood being taken over by the supercomputer Worldmind and uno reversed it, taking control over it instead.

Greg: He's also tough enough to take hits from three planets' worth of battleships and bested Thor on several occasions. Thor's battle with the Gorr the God Butcher shattered planets, bested the Sentry who killed Ares who reacted with planck time and survived the Godbomb going off which is said to kill all gods across space and time.

Randy: Thor outright admitted his Godblast could only hinder Ego and this is the same attack which threatened to kill Galactus and defeated Majeston Zelia, both of whom scales to Thor's father Odin.

Popup: Odin was capable of destroying 9 of the 10 realms, all of which were stated to be universe-sized. Galactus defeated Odin and Majeston Zelia is twice as powerful than Odin.

Shadow: Ego even defeated Galactus himself, whose battle with the Other and the Scrier threatened to destroy the entire Marvel multiverse as just a side effect of their battle. And during one of their fights, Ego was hit by Galactus with the, and I quote, "fire of a thousand suns" and emerged unscathed after being pelted by countless planets before attacking Galactus faster than he can react.

Randy: Man I can't tell what's more crazy: the fact Ego could take hits from Galactus like that whenever they fight or the fact a living planet bested a cosmic being known to devour entire planets.

Shadow: But Ego does have his downsides. As his name suggests, he has a huge ego and tends to underestimate his opponents a lot, resulting in his losses against Thor and the Guardians of the Galaxy. And without sunlight, his body begins to break down and fall apart.

Randy: Sheesh. For someone who's part Celestial, you'd think he cover that with his matter manipulation.

Greg: And while he did bested Galactus, most of the time Galactus was starving meaning he was not at full power or Ego needed help from Thor to repel him. But one thing's for sure, Ego will stop at nothing to assert his dominance and ascend the cosmic hierarchy.

Ego: Creatures of the third planet, heed me!

The Thing: Huh, check please.

Ego: I am Ego, the living planet! Feel my wrath!

Mogo is Mogo on DEATH BATTLE

Shadow: The Green Lantern Corps are an intergalactic police force created by the Guardians of the Universe, harnessing the green power of Will. You may have heard of the Green Lanterns such as Alan Scott, Hal Jordan, Guy Gardener, John Stewart, Kyle Rayner, Simon Baz, Jessica Cruz and Sojourner Mullein, all of whom originate from Earth.

Randy: But the DC Multiverse is huge and the Green Corps have enlisted a wide array of members in their effort to maintain peace and balance. Like Kilowog, Arisia and former Green Lantern turned Yellow Lantern, Sinestro.

Greg: But we today we're talking about Mogo, a literal living planet. His origin differs from continuity, but it's consistently stated in both that Mogo is responsible for delivering Green Lantern Rings to potential candidates whenever their previous ones die.

Randy: Mogo can alter his planet's surface weather conditions or increase his gravitational pull to prevent anyone from escaping. He can also manipulate matter and land as well as create plants to suite the environment.

Shadow: But his biggest arsenal is the Green Lantern Ring, which allows him to create energy constructs out of his willpower or use it to fire huge energy beams at foes.

Greg: And should a Green Lantern die in combat, Mogo uses telekinesis to retrieve and pass them on to potential rookies, though it won't be useful here.

He helped the Green Lanterns kill Krona, bested one quarter of Sinestro's Yellow Lantern Corps and once illuminated light to a dying universe, which given the DC multiverse' size at 100 trillion light years, is calculated to be over 2748 Foe.

Randy: His tendrils are strong enough to hold Lobo and Mister Miracle, and that's the same bastitch who fought Zatanna, Dr. Fate and other sorcerers without much pain and brawled with Superman. Mogo also created leeches that revert Guy Gardener from Red Lantern back into a Green Lantern.

Greg: He's also comparable to Green Lanterns like John Stewart, Kyle Rayner and Kilowog. John Stewart once created an entire solar system, Kyle held back a Big Bang from Imperiex and Kilowog survived the Crisis on Infinite Earths, a multiversal erasure event.

Shadow: Mogo can also be scaled to Hal Jordan though it's debatable. But considering normal Green Lanterns can harm the Anti-Monitor, it's not far-fetched to say Mogo comes close.

Cannot perform much tasks due to being a planet

If the main Power Battery in Oa is destroyed, Mogo will gradually expend the energy fueling him until he finally loses consciousness and becomes an ordinary planet

Lantern Ring is limited to imagination

Greg: That being said, even Mogo is still susceptible to faults. You see sentient planet or not, Mogo is still a planet and planets have their own gravitational binding energy. If Mogo isn't careful, he could accidentally reel in planets and stars that could ram him at any time, killing him. That's why he doesn't socialize, his own mass and gravity could be his undoing.

Randy: And despite the Lantern Ring's versatile abilities, it's only limited to the user's imagination and can't do everything. Plus if he uses too much energy, Mogo will become an ordinary planet once again, which is how he was found by Kyle Rayner.

Shadow: But Mogo has continue to be the Green Lantern Corps' most valuable member, even becoming their temporary base when Oa was destroyed.

Mogo: I am Mogo!

A giant purple planet with a face can be seen destroying planets within an unnamed galaxy, it was Ego the Living Planet. His yellow eyes glowed as he charges energy from his eyes before firing it at a nearby planet, causing it to explode as the Celestial laughed.

Ego: Hahahahaha!

Not yet satisfied, he turns to another planet and fires another one.

But to his surprise, a green energy-like wall blocked it. He turns to see a massive planet with a Green Lantern symbol heading towards him. It was Mogo and he was sent by the Green Lantern Corps to investigate toe destruction of multiple solar systems, which Ego was responsible for.

Mogo: I am Mogo, a Green Lantern. Your path of destruction are over.

Mogo glows green to emphasize his threat. However, Ego laughed once again.

Ego: Nothing but empty words to Ego the Living Planet! Have at thee!

FIGHT!

Ego fires his eye lasers while Mogo unleashes a huge, green energy beam from the Lantern symbol, creating a shockwave as both energy beams struggled to overpower the other. Eventually, Mogo added more and his energy beams powers through Ego's an struck the Living Planet in the face.

Ego: AAAAGH!

Not letting up, Mogo created several energy constructs like massive rocket launchers and fired projectiles at the Celestial, causing him more pain. Mogo then made a giant green fist and hurled it at Ego.

Ego: Enough!

Ego opened his mouth and bit into it, absorbing it much to Mogo's surprise.

Ego: Eat this!

Ego fires his eyes lasers into the Green Lantern, pushing the planet back a bit.

Ego: I'll show you your place!

He fires more energy beams at Mogo before closing the distance and bites him, causing visible cracks to be seen on the surface as he bites Mogo repeatedly. Suddenly, multiple green chains wrapped around Ego and hold him in place.

Ego: What?!

He struggled to break before before Mogo is upon him again and fires another huge energy beam, hitting him directly in the face.

Just then, the chains are being absorbed into Ego's body, dissipating as they do. Mogo is shocked by what happened and wondered what is happening. Undeterred, he fires another energy beam, but to his shock, Ego simply absorbs his attack.

Ego: Hahaha! Fool! I can absorb all manner of energy!

Ego retaliates by blasting Mogo away with his own energy attacks. Mogo counters by creating an energy shield that blocks it. The Living Planet continues his relentless assault on Mogo, but the shield gave him enough time to create chains around Ego once more before hurling energy constructed meteors that pelted Ego as he screams in pain.

But just then the attack stops and Mogo begins to shake, almost as if he's suffering a seizure. The chains holding Ego loosen to which he merely absorbed into himself. It was then that Ego had a big grin on his face.

Ego: You idiot! Every planet has a core and you are no exception! I have the perfect thing to reach it.

Turns out, Ego had created an avatar while he was biting Mogo before and had infiltrated his core, where his Power Battery was stored and was secretly draining Mogo's energy from within.

Mogo: N-No!

Mogo tried to resist his energy being taken, but without enough willpower and other Green Lanterns to aid him, he had no hope. When the last of the Power Battery's energy was drained, it resulted in Mogo losing his sentience. The Lantern symbol disappearing as Mogo returned to being an ordinary planet once again,

Ego: Now die!

Ego opened his mouth and began to bite Mogo while simultaneously blasting him with his energy attacks. The combined assault proved too much and caused Mogo to explode, sending debris of corpse everywhere. Ego the Living Planet cackles as he relished in his victory.

Ego: I am Ego! The largest, most powerful Intelligence in all Infinity!

KO!

* Ego turns his back and begins to fly away in another section to wreak havoc.

* Mogo's Green Lanrern Ring was seen floating, broken and cracked.

Results

(Worlds Collide again)

Randy: Oof. Mogo is no-go.

Shadow: Ugh, really? At this time.

Greg: Both planets are extremely powerful in their own rights, but determining their highest power limit is a bit tricky. Sure Mogo needed help from other Green Lanterns to fight Superboy-Prime, but some of Ego's victories over Galactus are the result of the Devourer of Worlds being starved to death or required Thor's help. At best we can roughly scale them equal in strength, speed and durability.

Popup: Comparing direct feats and face values, however, puts Ego at a big advantage over Mogo.

Shadow: But Ego had the means of ending the fight. Mogo may have an tougher inner layer that prevents most foes from entering and had more versatile abilities via his Lantern Ring to overwhelm Ego, but Ego has more raw attack potency to bypass his defenses and has could counter Mogo's energy constructs with his ability to manipulate matter or with his own energy constructs.

Randy: Both also possess mind control, but only Ego has the ability to resist it. Mogo was once mind controlled by Krona and Ego did the same thing to Thor, who resisted Moondragon who had the Mind Stone. It's a possibility Ego could trick Mogo into lowering his defenses. Ego is also way more experience in fighting than Mogo. Though Mogo had been around for a long time, his inability to move around due to his gravitational binding energy much means he's limited to move at certain areas without causing too much damage to the solar system, while Ego does the same thing, he's not really bound and would likely do it for fun.

Shadow: But Ego had the perfect counter to the Lantern Ring: his energy absorption. Ego has absorbed many types of energy like solar, cosmic and mystic energy and Green Lantern energy constructs are explicitly made from light. He could absorb any energy construct Mogo threw at him.

Greg: But wait, didn't Hal Jordan resisted having his energy being taken away?

Greg: Couldn't we scale Mogo to that since they both posses the Lantern Rings?

Randy: Well remember that Green Lantern Rings are fueled by willpower. Hal Jordan had greater willpower than most, if not all, Green Lanterns and we have no evidence Mogo could match that, let alone do it himself..

Shadow: Plus Ego is technically sentient on his own while Mogo is an ordinary planet that's powered by a Lantern Ring to become sentient. Ego could easily absorb all of his energy until he becomes an ordinary planet, which makes him a helpless target.

Greg: Mogo was tough, but Ego had the greater destructive capabilities, intelligence and energy absorption to annihilate Mogo.

Randy: Ego was Green with envy but ultimately snuffed out Mogo's light.

Shadow: The winner is Ego the Living Planet.
