Mandy's POV

I was busy helping the other ladies with the baking and cooking until I was pulled aside by Anita Montgomery, my best and closest buddy. She couldn't hide her squeal "oh Mandy you need to see the next customer! There is a super handsome hang of a man, it's rare to see such a fine specimen."

I sighed, she wasn't sure who on earth she was referring to, she soon responded with a tired sigh "Anita love, you are married to Timothy remember?" Another girl spoke in a dreamy voice. "Oh my it's rare to see him here. I believe his name is Robert Simon's and boy does that 6'0 hung of a man look good-''''Oh please you girls wouldn't even get as lucky with him even if you tried. I'm pretty sure he doesn't need a hormone crazed woman jumping him."

Said Rodrick who was second in charge of the baker aka the baker's son and was also in command when his dad the owner was busy accompanied by Levi who was an immigrant.

"Alright you lot enough, because none of you can settle I will take his order instead" I said before walking to the front register and gave a smile but as soon as my eyes laid on his my heart suddenly skipped a beat. The man was tall and looked young who had Straight (Medium) hair that was Golden blonde. He looked at least mid to late 20s and looked Muscular. He had beautiful blue eyes. But the man was extremely attractive, to me at least. He also happened to be a detective.

"That will be 3 quid there sir." I said in a friendly tone. When he responded his voice was neither deep or high but definitely made you wanna listen "Thank you Miss Milton, the day seems to be dizzily wouldn't you say?" A smile spread across my face. I slightly chuckled before responding in a cheery tone "why yes Mr. Simon's it seems so, any new cases as of late?"

I was trying to make decent conversation as he just seemed easy to talk to and shortly he responded in that same tone. "Not yet as we have only just recently finished an older case that had been put away for the last 5 years. Solved it last week actually."

A smile spread across my face as it felt nice to talk to a nice customer for once. As a friendly gesture I passed him a napkin in case he needed one and also to be friendly. These kinds of guys are what little girls read in books, knights in shining armor and princes and princesses but she herself wasn't deluded like some women were.

Shortly I spoke in a friendly manner "well I wouldn't expect anything else from the best. My father is quite fascinated by your work, you should come later tonight as he has been meaning to speak with you, he says he wanted to talk about something important."

Once I said that I saw a sudden look of unease in his eyes but it soon disappeared as fast as it had appeared. He suddenly whispered into my ear. "My dear you should be careful how you speak about things especially in public, after all your father has many enemies and many friends but I advise you be careful before you talk about private things"

I suddenly felt stupid before, well it was the first time she had made the mistake as not everyone knew he was a detective and always assumed he was a police officer of sorts. My instant reply was "oh right, I forgot this isn't your office, my apologies Mr. Simon's. But I guess it's more just to catch up I suppose."

He nodded before saying "Well my dear it was wonderful talking" I then whispered "Drop a letter to my office with the time and I will see what I can do."

I replied in the same cheery tone "Of course sir. well enjoy the rest of your day!"

I sighed. He's so charming.
