Chapter 10
"Hey, Y/n!"
I turn around to face Kaminari wearing a shirt with the words "High Voltage" on it.
"How does this look?"
"Well, it fits you. I like it."
—Since—
He smiled at me and got pulled into the jean section by Sato. Mineta pulled my arm down, dragging me down to his level. I look at his purple ball hair than his eyes.
"What do you think of this scent~."
I took a small breath in and let out a chuckle. A soft smile went across my lips.
"It's vanilla."
"I love it."
"You think other hot girls would like it?"
I bonked him on the side of his head and got up. I looked towards the rest of the men looking for clothes. My question is, why would a store like this sell vanilla-scented cologne?
Hanging out with them was fun; although I wish I could afford clothes, mother told me I have to focus on school.
While I was staring at Todoroki, deciding what clothes he should get, someone grabbed ahold of my hand, turning to face Izuku.
"Do you have a crush on Todoroki?-"
"No. Only cause I stare does not mean I like him."
...
"Anyways."
Izuku, let's go of my hand.
"Can I talk to you alone?"
"Yeah, sure."
We walked out of the clothing store, now sitting on a concrete fountain ledge. As Izuku sits down, I drown my hand in the cold fountain water, turning to him.
"Have you been okay?"
I corrected my posture, turning towards him.
"Since when have you been straightforward with me?" I asked with a small snort at the end.
His green eyes look at me, worried, and awaiting a response.
"Honestly, brother, I'm just feeling down due to certain things happening at school."
"Are they bothering you?! Have they bullied you?!"
Izuku was inches away from my face, his eyebrows furrowed.
"Izuku, stop crying."
His cheeks go pink as I smile and bring a hug towards him.
"It's just friend problems, plus everyone hates each other in high school, so it's fine."
"Are you sure?"
I nod my head and hear someone call Izuku's name. It was Kirishima holding up an All Might hoodie.
He sprung up with excitement but stopped in his tracks to look at me.
"It's fine," I said, chuckling at his actions.
He reached for my hand, but I moved it away.
"I'm going to sit down for a bit," I said with a smile.
He grinned and ran into the store. I sat there alone on the fountain line. Why do I feel like such a criminal?
I lied to Izuku. I keep lying to my only brother—the person who cares and would risk his life for me. I placed my hands on my face and pressed my eyes into my skull, feeling the density.
"I need to leave."
I took a deep breath and stood up, walking out of the mall towards the exit.
I reached the exit but was stopped when I see Bakugou in front of me.
"Why are you leaving?"
I attempted to move out and getaway, but he got in front of me.
"Bakugou, move out of my way, please-"
"You can't keep running. You know that, right?"
I look up to see him grinning.
"And you're acting like a child:"
"you know that, right?" I copied, getting a bit annoyed by his actions. I want to leave.
"That little stunt you pulled, covering my mouth, took a lot of guts. Everyone who thinks correctly would agree."
I look at his red-colored eyes and calm my breathing. With no second to spare, I attempt to move away from him again, and once again, he blocked me.
"What made you not fear me anymore? "
"Nothing did. I never did."
"Bullsh*t."
I shuffled my feet away from him when suddenly he wrapped his arm around my collar bone, pulling my back gently against next to him to avoid unwanted attention.
"I'll find out one way or another."
"I really hope you don't, Bakugo."
My heart was beating intensely. I turned back to him and looked straight into his eyes. As much as I despise his ignorance and power, I will never want him dead.
"Because you might end up 10-feet underground if you do."
With that, I dusted his hand away from me, walking out of the mall.
————
I looked at myself in a toy mirror from childhood in my closet, smiling at the thought of my younger self happily applying my mother's makeup and immediately getting scolded after.
I turn around to the window in my bedroom, the sunlight fading away.
"Why can't it just say daytime..."
"Because then I can't come to your room."
My body jumps at the voice, turning around only to see Shigaraki smiling at me. I quickly go into the closet, closing the door and hiding my face in my knees.
"Leave me alone!"
I heard shuffling outside the closet door and the squeaking of my bed. Did he just lay down on my bed?!
I JUST CLEANED THE SHEETS.
"Get off my bed!" I sprung out of the closet to see him looking up at the ceiling.
He looked at me, and my body stopped cold.
"No."
My heart began to beat faster as I walked back till my back hit the door, locking the door.
Shigaraki heard the click of the door, looking at me at the corner of the room. He furrowed his eyebrows in confusion.
I walked up to him and stood next to the bed.
"Give me your hand."
I said nervously, holding out my hand.
Shigaraki outstretched his arm and got ahold of mine but pulled me down onto the bed.
He wrapped his arms around me as I screamed, but he covered my mouth.
"Be quiet."
I hyperventilated, but as he stared at me, I told myself to keep calm.
He took off his hand from my face and slid it down to my neck.
"Why did you lock the door Y/n?"
"I don't want my mother going into my room and seeing you. The last thing I need is you threatening me more."
I could feel his hot breath upon my neck.
"Isn't it funny?"
I side-eyed him as his finger did circling motions on my neck.
"As much as I want to kill you. I need you."
He stopped as his head went to the crook of my neck. His hand slides down to my side. Shigaraki closed his eyes and comfortably positioned himself, taking advantage of my warmth.
"I will never let anyone take what's mine." He let out lazily.
Those words were meant to scare me. But why weren't they causing me to kill him right here? An energy shock to his heart, and he would die. Why did my body feel hot when he said that? He acts like a child. "Mine," he says. He's claiming me. Like I'm a toy.
I attempt to take my hand out and was successful. I don't think I should transfer energy into him right now, not now. I look around for anything I could use to get him off of me, but I stopped.
I brought my nose to his fluffy light blue hair and smelled a familiar scent.
Vanilla.
I shake Shigaraki awake. He groaned and hugged me tighter. I kicked without making a sound, arching my back.
"Please stop Shigaraki."
He opened his eyes and let me go. I got off the bed and stepped back to my back against the wall.
"I need you to get out."
Shigaraki got up.
He turned toward me and suddenly reappeared in front of me. He reached his arm towards my neck but stopped.
His hand went up to my cheek instead, cupping it in his hand.
"It was my scent, wasn't it?"
He got closer to me, smiling down at me while he placed both hands on my cheeks. My heart was beating out of my chest as he breathed calmly, looking at me with those eyes.
"I like your warmth."
"The deal didn't include this."
"I know it didn't, but I got more than what you usually give me tonight. "
"W-what?"
He took my hand and placed it where his heart was. His heart was beating rapidly.
"Am I cheating?"
My eyes widened. I didn't give him anything tonight; how could he have-
And in one second, he was gone. His warmth left the room, and I look towards my bed. I sit down, grabbing the sheets and wrapping them around me. I looked at my hands and questioned my quirk for the first time in a long time. Did I? As my nose was pressed against the sheets, it took no time to find out that his scent continued to linger in my sheets.
