Letter #76
Sunday, May 30th, 1802
My Dearest, Philip,
A celebration is in order, Philip! Yesterday, I gave birth to a son who Joseph and I have decided to name after my father, Aaron Burr Alston. I wish you could be here to see him, he looks so much like his father, even at such a young age. You would have loved to meet him, Philip, he could be like a little brother to you.
With Aaron's birth, it reminds me that life is changing every day and every day I feel as though you are slipping further and further away from me. We had that conversation all those months ago about just how much life can change. How things change in an instant and you never really notice. So much has changed since I last received a letter from you and it is strange that life will continue to change and you will never see any of it.
I will always miss you, Philip.
Love Always,
Theodosia Burr Alston.

Notes;
Theodosia Burr Alston gave birth to her only child, Aaron Burr Alston, named after her father, on the 29th May 1802. The date has been long debated due to lack of Historical evidence surrounding the actual date of birth.
