Phone: "Hello?"

X: "Hey there! Haven't used you in awhile! How have -"

Phone: "Don't ask me anything. You should answer my question: How come you haven't gotten any use out of me?!"

X: "What do you mean? I use you everyday."

Phone: "Only to call family. What about people that aren't related to you? Friends..."

X: "Oh..."

*X comes to an awkward pause. *

X: "Well, its kind of hard to explain...
You see, I don't really have...a large group of friends. My circle is small - very small."

Phone: "Oh goodness! So, basically, you have no one to call."

X: "Well, you know there's - Um...There's..."

*X falls silent.*

Phone: " This is ridiculous! Your contact list wouldn't even have more than 5 people listed if it weren't for your family's numbers. Honestly, I'm not sure if that even counts. "

X: "I'm sure they do."

Phone: "Yeah...in your mind. Don't you have any friends?"

X: "For your information, I have my Wattpad friends. They're very dear to me."

Phone: "Do you talk with them over the phone?"

X: "Well...no...but -"

Phone: "Some friend you are. I'm surprised people can even tolerate talking to you. I can barely stand it, now. You suck with people! What about Instagram?"

X: "Well...one person, but she lives very far away. A few people blocked me. I don't know why! I never use profanity or vulgarities on my account, and I try to be nice."

Phone: "Well, you have failed at being nice. All you do is drive people away! That's why you have no one to call! Such a dry, little social life!"

X: "I...I talk to people! Who are you to tell me about my social life?! You don't even know me!"

Phone: "Then, how come you never spend time with these so-called people? You're always using me to fill the empty gaps in your life. I'm the only 'friend' you've got."

X: "Why are you so mean?!"

Phone: "I'm just being honest with you. You'll never get too angry with me, because you need me more than ever."

X can't deny the truth.

It was her truth, so she had to swallow it.

"Who do I really have?" She asked herself.

That question is yet to be answered.
