Let me cry.

Please, let me cry tonight.

If you can take me,

grab me tightly

and hold me to your heartbeat.

Let my eyes release a shower of pain,

like they've never done, before.

Give me a kiss of assurance,

so I'll know that tomorrow will be much brighter -

or at least a half of a shade lighter.

Let me scream.

Let me scream loud enough,

so that I can awaken those that sent my heart to its emotional death;

Let me squeal and yell

like a small child,

who is far from a peaceful state.

I almost want to lie on my stomach,

kicking and screaming about.

I want to lift my voice...

but I can't.

" Don't you dare take off that smile! "

" You'd better toughen up! "

These words are what I use to fight my tears.

They never work.

My tears always send me to a corner of defeat.

If you let me cry on your shoulder tonight,

I promise I won't be a bother, tomorrow.

I'll put on that little toy smile.

If there are anymore tears left,

I will save them for another time.
