Epilogue
Felix hated Christmas.
The day his true love had taken her own life because she thought he didn't love her anymore.
The image of her black dress clinging to the lifeless blueish-gray body kept stabbing at his heart.
Memories of him fighting the paramedics to see Shadow, one last time.
She wasn't smiling when her body had been dragged from the river. It was the one time she let her trademark bright smile falter. Felix eventually gave up, knowing there was no chance of him ever seeing her again, even in such a terrible state.
Bendy was home, drunk and ready to say something.
But Felix wasn't in the mood.
"I told you so-"
"Fuck off, alcoholic bastard."
Felix barely even looked at him as he went up to his room. Bendy stared at him.
"What!? I'm your friend!"
"Pretty poor excuse for one."
Bendy growled and swiped another bottle off the counter.
"Good thing your faggot girlfriend finally died, she was a bad influence on you."
Felix didn't even think about smashing the bottle over the little demon's head until it happened.
"Shadow was twice the person you'll ever be."
::::::::::::::::::::
2 months passed.
Felix had moved in with Shadow's old friends, Cuphead and Mugman. A small city house, but it was good enough for them.
He had taken up a bad drinking habit and refused to wear anything except the black hoodie that Shadow had given him.
Cup and Mugs were supportive, they even attended her funeral.
It was beautiful, the entire place was decorated with pastel red and blue flowers, other pastel colors of green, purple, and orange, with star patterns all around.
Felix couldn't move on and he didn't want to. He still kept the memory box with all the letters and Shadow's flower crown inside.
She was right. It was hard to forget her.
::::::::::::::::::::
It was a late spring evening when Felix finally decided to move on.
The sky was dark and the stars were reappearing. The moon was a half-disk showing on the horizon, soon to be revealed as a wide, glowing circle.
Felix got a blank piece of paper and put it in front of him on his desk. He hesitated with the pen in his hand, unsure of what to write. Finally, after what seemed like forever, the tip connected with the page and wrote two neat words at the top.
Dear Starcat
The end.
