Feline Rhapsody: A Day in the Life of a Cat

I am but a simple feline,
My life's not one of glory fine,
I wander through the house and yard,
With not a care, but to be unmarred.

My days are filled with simple things,
The sound of birds and gentle flings,
Of toys and strings and mice to catch,
And sunny spots to lay and stretch.

But sometimes in the dead of night,
When moonbeams dance and stars are bright,
I sense a shift in the air around,
And my instincts tell me to be bound.

For in the shadows there may lurk,
A danger that I must not shirk,
A threat to my small world so bright,
That I must fight with all my might.

And so I rise and take my stand,
With claws and teeth at the ready, grand,
I face the darkness with a heart so bold,
For I am a cat, fierce and bold.

Though my life may seem so small,
To me it's grand, with no need for a hall,
For I am but a simple feline,
Living each day, with grace divine.

I think this is what my ten cats think every day. Dedicating this poem to Paris, Moju, Sasha, Jin, Tae, Hope, Cookie, Joonie, Jimin, and Sugacat.
