Letter #6

November 30, 1996

     Dear Dillion,

I'm sorry to hear about your parents. They could still make up, you never know. Give it some time. My Dad is still drinking a lot, but it'll be fine. The worst that happens is when he sometimes calls me by my mother's same. Don't work yourself up about it, DiDi.

High school is pretty crazy, isn't it? I want to burn my math homework in the fire place every time my algebra teacher hands me a textbook. I'd much rather have history homework. One of my friends actually got a boyfriend, can you believe that!? Now she follows him like a love sick puppy. It's actually pretty funny to watch.

I'm glad that you liked the book. It really is shocking to read about something like that. I've know that it happened, but the book is just kinda like a punch to the face. The book that you sent me is really good, too. It's really crazy how big the universe is. We're all just specks of sand in comparison. Who's to say aliens don't exist?

Have you ever been to a haunted house? I want to one in October, and I was so disappointed in the costumes the actors wore. It looked like they grabbed the first thing they saw at Walmart! One person even said "Boo". Any better one in your experience? Or are you a big chicken? I'll be waiting for your next letter :)

     Love,
Lillian
