love

Hee-yong chuckled nervously as she surveyed the boys around her.
"Yoongi, my man, you know your music is so good," Hee-yong began trying to sweet talk. Yoongi stayed silent as he and the others invited closer and closer, beginning to close in on Hee-yong and Jungkook whose backs were pressed together.
"Jimin, you know your hair looks really nice with that color, right? You have stellar taste," Hee-yong tried again. Jimin smirked behind his helmet, not saying anything to his ex girlfriend.
Hee-yong gulped and looked at Namjoon.
"Namjoon, you know I love you," she said. Yoongi, Jimin and Namjoon all halted at Hee-yong's confession. Seeming to realize what she'd said, she gulped and quickly tried to save herself by squeaking out the word, "Fam."
Even though Hee-yong tried to pass it off as if it was a friendly statement but it was already out there to everyone, including Hee-yong herself. Jungkook hissed behind his partner.
"Now you've done it," he whispered and took off. His sudden movement caught the group off guard and they began shooting blindly. Hee-yong took the chance to escape as their attention was trained on Jungkook. She dashed around the brush that had grown up too high and made a run for it to the base. The flag was sitting proudly, waving in the slight breeze. Just as Hee-yong's finger tips brushed the soft material of the flag, two arms wrapped around her middle and pulled her back. Hee-yong gasped loudly at the suddenness of it.
"You love me?" Namjoon's deep voice boomed in her ear. Panic struck the girl, rendering her speechless.
"I-I.." Hee-yong was stumbling over her words, she didn't know what to say.
"Hee-yong, do you love me?" Namjoon asked again. He turned the girl around to face him. Their faces were fairly concealed by the large helmets they were wearing so they couldn't gauge each other's reactions, which made Hee-yong feel just the slightest bit more confident. All this time, she'd been struggling with her feelings for the man in front of her. She'd went through the phases of liking him, hating him and then once again having feelings for him. She had read some of his deepest thoughts, she'd seen him at the worst of his times, she had seen his silly side, his serious side, and his caring side. In the short amount of time Hee-yong had known Namjoon, she had felt incredibly confused by his presence and always had some sort of feelings toward him. She felt happier when he was around, even if they weren't talking directly. Namjoon's presence was reassuring and Hee-yong enjoyed having him around. Namjoon's smile sent butterflies parading through her stomach and made her mind go blank. His voice gave her chills and having him stand so close to her made her feel insane as blood rushed to her face.
Namjoon wanted desperately to know her answer. His heart thudded I'm his chest with something he hadn't felt in a long time- complete adoration. This girl, who cared about him when he was sick, who made him laugh and made him angry. This girl who had the power to turn his mood around in an instant. This girl had made Namjoon's heart flutter like a school boy's. Namjoon swiftly pulled Hee-yong's helmet off her head and saw that she was tinted pink with embarrassment.
"Hee-yong," Namjoon whispered and caressed her face.
"Please tell me the truth," he said. Namjoon's voice was desperate, pleading even.
Hee-yong gulped and brushed her hair behind her ear.
"I do," she said quietly. Namjoon's heart skipped a beat at her words.
"I love you, Namjoon," she said a bit louder, thinking he hadn't heard her the first time. Namjoon's face broke into a grin and he pulled Hee-yong into a hug.
"I think I've loved you for a while, honestly," Hee-yong muttered into Namjoon's clothes. He began laughing, his eyes tearing up slightly. He stopped and pulled away as he looked into Hee-yong's eyes.
"Are you lying?" He asked. Hee-yong shook her head.
"I've been lying to myself trying to convince myself that I don't have feelings for you, but I can't keep lying, not now that you've so blatantly called me out," Hee-yong said giggling. Namjoon smiled and leaned in as if to kiss Hee-yong but stopped. He remembered exactly where they were and what they were there for and he smirked.
"Since you love me, please don't be mad at me for this," Namjoon said with a smirk and the he shot Hee-yong in the foot with his paint gun.
"Fuck!" Hee-yong shrieked in surprise.

Author's note: this chapter is so so short, I'm sorry. I'm in class writing this and don't have much time but I wanted to update. I'll try to upload another chapter at some point today to make up for how short this one was.
