Shawn had opened his mailbox a bit painfully as he raised his right arm to grab the mail. He had sorrowfully witnessed several bullys bang Blaire up a bit earlier and if that wasn't enough emotionally, he was jumped outside of school. So now he walked inside his house cautiously, placing the mail on the counter in the kitchen before bolting up the stairs and into his room, holding Blaires latest letter.

He threw himself on his bed and blinked several times as he opened it and let the contents slip out. He couldn't help but notice a small plastic bag taped to the bottom of the letter. Shawn smiled when he read the contents of the letter and the opening the small baggy and letting whats inside slip onto his hand.

Shawns crappy day had flipped as he turned the Guitar pic in his hand. So THIS is what she was going to do at the music store that day they ran into each other. The pic faded from dark blue to light blue and had "Muffin Boy" printed on it. This was probably the best Christmas gift he had ever received in his whole entire life.

Immediately Shawn dashed for a paper and pen and began to write his reply.

Dear Beautiful,

Why do you speak of these injuries as if they were a normal thing? Like, you have this "I don't give a damn" attitude with them and it's a bit.... Well a bit worrying, on my part at the most I mean. I guess... I guess it affects me when you get hurt is all. Thank you SO much for the Christmas present Cookie, its amazing! I cant wait to use it! I hope you like your present too, I had to check the rules and regulations, policys and packaging restrictions to see if I could even send it! To be honest, both our lives are pretty messed up, so none of us are the lucky ones.

Shawn stopped right there, wondering what else to write in the letter. He logged onto his computer and into his email where he remembered some homework was going to be sent to. But instead of the school work he had to do, he found an email from the Paper Positive company.

We are sorry to announce that Paper Positives Penpal Match system is currently shutting down. By December 15, all final mail will be sent and the program shut down. We are sorry for this inconvieniance but hope you understand.

Shawn stared at the email and then looked back down at the paper. He couldn't loose connection with Blaire just like that! He quickly resumed the letter, knowing exactly what to write about.

Im sure you received the email about the penpal service being shut down? Its sucks really and im not exactly ready to just let you go like that.
