5 8 Make You Wait For Me

Blair slept at the table after completing the work. Akagi covered her with a blanket. "You can't give up, Blair. Fight for who you want to become—It's your life, after all, you decide if you want to be controlled or not. Don't leave behind any regrets, humans have a short life after all."

He left the room and she slowly opened her eyes. When she went back home that morning, her parents asked her where she had been, "To a friend's place." She told them.
"Who was it?"
"Akagi Scheczalier"
"You're friends with Akagi Scheczalier?"
"Yeah?"

"Just friends?"
"Just friends," Blair narrowed her eyes. Her parents looked at each other, "Just date him!"
"What?"
"He is so rich—He'll keep you happy."
"Happy? Mom, I wanted to talk about something."

"What is it?" She looked at them, "Nothing. I'll go to bed,"
"What about college?"
"I'm not feeling well,"
"Did he do something—"
"Akagi is not like that,"

Next day, she went to college and saw Akagi surrounded by other students. He was difficult to approach and hardly ever alone. Then, one day came to her, "My place at six,"
"Okay," He left. She arrived at six and he was again not there. He came back at seven, "Why do you call me at six when you are busy?!"
"What should say—It is nice to make you wait for me."

"Shut up!" She blushed. He gave her another bundle of manuscripts, "Type it,"
"My neck hurts from that day,"
"My laptop too."
"Nevermind, I'll do it."

He usually called her over for completing his manuscripts. She would come at six and leave at nine. It was like a part-time job—Except that she was not being paid.
"Akagi," She whispered and he looked over from his book. They both sat under a tree, looking at the football field, "I got selected for the national team. They need my parent's signature to allow me in. I'm scared to bring it up to my parents. I know they won't like it."
"Not everyone needs to like you. Don't make sacrifices for your career,"

Talking to him gave her strength and finally, one day, she brought it up to her parents. They were both shocked to hear about this,
"Blair?"
"I want to become a footballer."
"This is ridiculous! We spent so much money on your literature classes and now you just want to drop it?! You're going to waste all your young years for nothing,"

"I have wasted them for everything,"
"Blair—"
"What's more important, money or my happiness?"
"What has happened to you suddenly?!"
"I have realised that this is not what I want. I'm not made for this then why should I do it? I don't even love literature—I love football,"

"Why didn't you tell this to us before, Blair," His mother asked.
"Because...You would get angry just like right now. You won't understand,"
"Of course it'll make us angry!" Her father got up and left the room.
His mother signed on her form, "Just do whatever you want,"

Feels free.

She ran towards Akagi and hugged him while he sat under the tree, "I got into the team. I talked to my parents."
"How did it go?"
"Dad is angry but it's okay. It isn't the first time I've disappointed him. I'll manage that."

"Good for you," Akagi looked back into his book.
She smiled at him, "Everything is in place,"
"That usually is the sign of something dramatic about to happen,"
"Oh shut up with your negativity!"

Blair got busy with practising after that and Akagi would call her occasionally for doing his manuscripts.
"Today's the last day you come here,"
"Why?" She took a sip of her coffee while sitting in his room.
"The book is completed after this—I'll give it to the publishing house,"

"You won't write other books?"
"Yeah but your payment is complete."
She looked at her empty cup, "Akagi,"
He looked at her, "What do you think about love?"
"Makes good romance books,"

"Not in books—In reality,"
"I don't know. I've never loved anyone."
"Want to give it a try?"
He chuckled, "You have someone in your mind?" He asked.
"How about me?" His face lost its colour, "I love you—Isn't that funny?" She laughed.

"It isn't," He didn't laugh. She stopped laughing and looked at him. He got up from his bed and grabbed her hand. He pulled her out of his apartment and closed the door, "Akagi!"
"Don't come back here," He said from inside.
"Does it mean I'm rejected?"
"Think whatever you want to,"

"Then, can I think about you?" She said from outside.
"Blair, listen, don't fall for me. You don't know what I am,"
"I love you regardless. I love you! I love you! I love you, Akagi! Open the door and let me kiss you, Akagi! You love me too, right—"

"Blair, I'm not human,"

"What?"

"I'm a demigod. So, stop treating me like a human."
She was shocked after hearing it, "That's a creative rejection," He opened the door—His red eyes were shining, "Now you see it?"
She pressed her palms on his face, "I see you,"

He moved back but she moved closer and kissed him on his lips, "You taste better than humans," He blushed and moved back, "You're crazy!"
"You're slow,"
"Shut up!" Akagi shouted.

They began dating after that. Akagi slowly opened up to her and told her about his past. She told him about her past and her relationships before him. They dated for a year—He was twenty by then. One day she came to him, "Akagi,"
"Yeah?"
"I'm pregnant,"
His eyes widened, "What?"

"I went to my doctor the other day—It's a few weeks old,"
Akagi's face lit up, "Really? It's my baby?"
"Yeah,"
"Oh god," He laughed with happiness, "Then, let's get married—"
"I want to abort it,"

His face dropped down, "Oh, why?"
"Because I have a match coming and I can't miss it,"
"It's just one match—"
"But it is important to me. They are going to choose the players for Fifa. And I have to be there. It's in five months from now. I need to train hard which will be impossible with this baby in my belly."
"You're going to kill our first child?"

"Don't make sacrifices for your career—I'm doing what you told me,"

"Yes, I did. If that's what you want, I won't force you to keep it. After all, it's your body. You have more rights over it than me."
She smiled, "Thank you so much, Akagi. You're so understanding."
He smiled but he wasn't happy.

The next day, they went to the clinic and got it aborted. She got busy with her training after that, "You don't want to do it?" She asked him.
"I...don't want to abort another child. Let's just wait until you reach your goal. I can wait, then we can marry and have many children," Akagi smiled.

"You're still not over that child?"
"He was my first baby, after all,"
She sighed.
"I can just use a condom if you want—"
"Nah, I don't want plastic inside me."
"Then, wait for me." He laughed.

Akagi got busy with writing as his deadline came closer again. One day, he saw her with another guy in the football field.
"Who is he?"
"Who?"
"So, there are many?"
"What the hell—Do you mean Toby?"

"Yeah, whatever his name is."
"We are just friends. Stop being so suspicious, Jesus Christ."
He trusted her and didn't question it even when he saw them close. One day, a girl told him that he saw Blair and Toby go to the storage room together. He ran towards the storage and looked at her, kissing that guy with her arms around his neck. She turned towards him and pushed Toby away, "Akagi—"

He ran away and she ran after him, "Akagi—" She grabbed his hand.
"So, you found someone else I suppose."
She didn't know what to answer. He didn't look at her. She looked at his back, "I hope he gives it to you better than me," She wasn't replying. He turned towards her and looked into her eyes.

"Did you ever love me?" He asked.
"Why would you ask that?"
"Just answer me!"
"I did—And I still do,"
"Cut me the bullshit, Blair. You don't love me—You don't give a damn about me and you never did because you hurt me and you would rather die than hurt a person you love!" He shouted.

"Loving hurts—"
"Then, it's not love,"
"Fine then, find someone whose love doesn't hurt you,"
"No, I told you I want to marry only you. Promise me, that you won't see him again."
"I promise."

Things went back to normal for a while but finally one day, Blair went to his place, "Akagi, let's do it."
"I told you to wait—"
"No, do it. Please, Akagi, you love me, don't you? Prove it with your body. Do it." She hugged him.
He closed his eyes, "Fine,"

In the morning, when he got up she was gone.
