5 7 I Had To Fight Too

Akagi stood at the door of the train to Estes. The bishop came with him to bid him farewell, "If you ever need something, just send me a letter," He gave him a bible, "God is always with you, Akagi." Akagi took the bible and the bishop patted his head, "Everything will be good. In his time, he has made everything beautiful," Akagi bowed and went inside.
He sat and read the bible. At the station, he found Mrs Winston who recognised him immediately by his red eyes.

"Akagi?" She asked.
"Yes?" He looked at her.
"Oh, you are so cute." She stretched his cheeks, "Come, I'll show you your new house." He had started trusting humans again. He lived with Mrs Winston and her daughter. Every day, he would commutate to the school through the train. He was a good student and still had his typical Chinese habits with him—One of them was not wearing shoes inside the house or the classroom. His class was friendly towards him because they believed he was Mrs Winston's daughter's son.

'This is so cliché...' Akagi thought as he sat inside the train while reading a book, 'What is wrong with writers' imagination nowadays? Even I can write better than this. Wait—Should I try?'

"What do I write?" Akagi sat in front of his desk. He had an amazing idea of just writing down his story as a book. Once he started, he completed the book within five hours—Although the keyboard broke apart, at least the book was done. He decided to send it to a global writing contest on the Internet. After three months, he got a phone call telling him that he had won. He got awarded with a cash prize of €400.

"Our company wants to publish your book. So, I'm just wondering how much will you charge us, Mr cute author" The editor asked him while they sat inside a restaurant. He was fifteen, sitting in his school uniform.
"€500" Akagi said after a long pause of thought. She laughed, "I bet how much is the book going to earn once we publish it."

Four months after the release of his debut book, 'Girl In Chains', he realised he might be a millionaire. He earned an average of €500,000,000.00—The press was dying to meet him after they announced the writer was merely sixteen. The first talk show he visited made half of Russia fall for this prodigy. Women were crazy after him—It seemed as if he was growing more handsome as he grew up. The books released after were all successful and Akagi was awarded many literary awards for his outstanding work in the literature field. He slowly began enjoying what he was doing. Writing got him money, fame, followers and admirers.

He finished his studies in Escola by the time he turned seventeen—He was intellectually gifted and grabbed on the knowledge he was given at a very fast rate. After graduating high school, he decided to continue with literature as his main subject and decided to attend the University of Toronto in Canada, who were more than happy to spare him a seat in the university.

He walked into his class with a piece of bubble gum in his mouth and his books into his hands. Soon, all the students surrounded him for an autograph.
"Why does everyone know him but not me?" A girl said and everyone turned towards her. She had a strong French accent.
"Blair Tremblay," A boy said, "You don't know the most popular author—What are you even doing in a literature college?" They laughed.

Akagi looked at her. She had long, thick, pink dyed hair with brown highlights over them and wore a yellow jumpsuit.
"Shut up," She pouted and walked towards him, "I don't like you!"
"And?" Akagi raised his left eyebrow. He wasn't bothered. Everyone laughed at Blair. She just shouted gibberish out of frustration.

"You haven't been laid for a while, have you?" Akagi said and everyone hooted. Soon, the professor came in and everyone went to their seats. Akagi sat beside a fanboy who just stared at him instead of paying attention to his lectures. Akagi was used to it and he decided to just ignore him out of existence.

Blair didn't seem interested in literature. She skipped classes and played football on the ground. One day, while he was sitting inside the library and working on a new book on his laptop, he decided to take a break and get himself some water. He leaned down to take out his thermos bottle. He heard the glass crash and looked up. His laptop lay on the floor in two pieces with a football laying beside it.

He quietly stared at it for a while—He didn't care if the laptop was broken, he had many more. What he cared about was the data he had lost. He leaned down and someone opened the door of the library, "My ball just came inside!" It was Blair Tremblay, she was in her football jersey. She looked at his broken laptop and immediately closed the door but he held on it.

"How did you come here so fast?!"
"So, it was you,"
"No! Somebody else kicked it—"
"It was you,"
"I was only at fifty per cent fault—"

He leaned towards her and looked into her eyes, "It was you,"
"Yes... But it was just an accident! It's not like I wanted to break your belongings!"
Akagi narrowed his eyes and she laughed nervously, "Blair Tremblay" He recalled her name.

"You remember my name? That makes things easier—"
"I always knew that there are people who have their brain in their knees, but today's the first time I'm seeing one in real life," Akagi said.
"You see—This is why I hate you."
"Likewise."
"Well, fuck you!"
"Do that later, first things first—My money."

"What?"
"I need to get my computer fixed."
"Can we forget about this?"
"Of course. Be my slave."
"What the fuck?"
"Or pay me."
"Are you some underground mafia or shit?"

"I might have connections to some secret societies."

"You don't strike me as a professional criminal."
"Well, that's what makes me so good at it."
She clicked her tongue, "I suppose you don't have money. So, pay using your body." Akagi said.
"What?" She covered her breast, "I thought you were at least a nice person otherwise."
"Bitch, I've got no personality," He chuckled.
"You do realise that you just insulted yourself."
"Yeah, I tend to do that because you'd obviously cry if I insult you."

"Shut up!"
"So, what have you thought—How will you pay?"
"I'm broke,"
"I know that,"
"I'll pay from my body," She blushed.

"Well and good, come to my place in the evening at six." Akagi picked up the pieces of the laptop and threw them in the dustbin. Blair reached his house at six but he wasn't there. He came at eight. She waited for him outside his door for two hours in the cold.
"You must be pretty dedicated to promises." He opened the door.
"Yes, I am! You are late!"
"They say good things take time," They walked inside his room and she turned red, "Now?" She asked.

"Oh yeah," He gave her a laptop and a bundle of pages, "Write all of this down. I want it in softcopy."
"What?!"
"You said you'll pay from your body. I needed a helper anyways. What did you come here for?"
"I thought!"
"What?"

"Nevermind!" She turned back and looked at the bundle of papers.
"Till when do you want it?"
"Morning."
"What?! That's impossible!"
"That's what the author's do. Make the impossible possible. Now get started."

She typed in the manuscript for two hours and began to enjoy the plot. At midnight, Akagi passed a cup to her, "Take a five-minute breather,"
"Oh, thank you," She drank it and coughed, "This isn't coffee!"
"It's boiled water."
"The hell? Who drinks this?"
"Me,"

"Why? Boiled water is tasteless."
"It's good for your gut and keeps you warm," He told her.
"Well, whatever. I still prefer coffee," She made herself some coffee. She sat on the chair while he sat on his bed.

"You're so lucky, Akagi. You choose what you become."
"You don't?"
"I'm just here because my parents want me to be here. I don't like studying, I like football. I like running free on the grass and shouting with all the air I have in my lungs. I don't like sitting inside four walls and looking into books,"

"Why don't you tell them about it?"
"They wouldn't like that. They have invested a lot on me. I don't have the courage to speak against them," She was just there because her parents wanted her to study it, without giving her any other choice. She hated Akagi because he had already become someone that she wanted to become. Free.

"Fight, Blair." Akagi said, "You're doing it for yourself. Don't give up without a fight,"
"But,"
"I had to fight too."
"Your parents didn't want you to write?"
"I don't have parents."
