3 2 Jealous You Can Sleep
"Do you want me?" Lict asked me. You know that I do then why would you ask that? Unless you want me to get down on my knees and grab you down there. Would you laugh at me if I said I did? Well, I will put you back to your place!
"No, you're just a butler. Why would I want someone like you?" I crossed my arms.
Lict chuckled, "I understand." He was already making fun of me? Thank God I didn't tell him what I felt—What an asshole of a butler!
"I thought you don't like talking about your past." He said. Wait—How did he know? Did I tell him something like that? My memory is ageing faster than my skin. Which is good, I don't want wrinkles, ever! In no world I want to age like a mortal. I'd rather kill myself before that happens! This way Lict and I can die together. Wait—What was his question?
"You said you don't like talking about your past." He repeated.
"But I want you to know about it. About why I am the way I am. I can take on the hatred of this entire world, but not yours. So, I want you to understand me, even if it means that I have to open past wounds."
"You don't have to. Star spirits have the abilities to read their master's mind."
What?! This is ridiculous!
"It isn't."
He can really read my mind!
"Yep."
Since when?! Did he hear all my thoughts?! It's okay, my thoughts aren't very indecent.
"But I want you to get down on your knees and grab me down there."
"What—" That's enough embarrassment for the day. That's why he chuckled when I said I don't want him!
"Yep."
"Stop reading my mind!" I finally shouted.
"It's not in my control. I can hear your thoughts as if you are speaking in my mind."
"...Then, stop listening to your mind!" I had gone mad.
"...Bruh." He laughed.
"Why can't I read your mind? Why are my powers so useless?!"
"You can read my mind too but only if you form a reverse contract mark."
"I need to make a sacrifice for that."
"Yes." Should I sacrifice my virginity?
"You don't have to do that. And I'll make sure that's not a sacrifice."
How so?
"I'll make sure that is something you enjoy."
"You really can read my mind! And—Stop it."
"Okay" He held my hand and looked into my eyes. I looked back in his blue eyes.
"Milady, call my name and I will come for you, I promise. I don't know for how long I can fight but if I could offer my last breath to you, then I'll fight till the very end."
"But you said you hate fighting."
"Not if it's for you. But promise me that you'll be strong too."
"I promise."
It was dark already, nearly time for dinner. He got up and left the room to prepare dinner. Honestly, I didn't want to let go of his hand. I looked at the dark sky. I wanted it to snow. It had been a while since it snowed. As I looked at the dark sky, I remembered Lict's eyes. They were blue but they had more darkness inside them than any other brown eyes I had seen. I lay on my bed. My stomach was hurting a bit. I looked at the door, waiting for Lict. Soon, my darkroom lit up with the light from the halls as the door opened.
"Milady, I've got you your dinner and the remedy."
I smelled a familiar scent. I recognised it immediately and pounced up.
"Solyanka soup!" For those of you poor souls who aren't Russian, Solyanka soup on a cold, winter night is like heaven's delight. It's thick, spicy, sweet and sour. A pleasure to my tongue. I love it!
"I know you do," He said.
"Thanks, Lict!" I gorged on the meal.
After I was done eating, he kept the plates aside and he put me to bed.
"Good night, Milady. And if you feel any discomfort or pain, just call me." Is he gonna go again? I held his hand, "But you sleep in a different room."
"I can still hear you—"
"No, sleep with me, today."
He looked surprised and red, "It's not like you need to do it every day. And it's just sleeping!"
He glowed bright golden, "I said it's just sleeping!"
"Yes!" He picked up the plates, "I'll go do the dishes—"
"Just do them in the morning."
"But my dishes—"
"Fine then! Go do the dishes and sleep in your own bed!" I pulled the blanket over me and lay back on the bed.
"Understood Milady." I heard his footsteps.
"Wait—Are you really gonna sleep alone?"
"I mean, you asked me to—"
"So, why didn't you fight back?! You're gonna miss this chance so easily?!"
"What?"
"Give this here." I grabbed the plates from him.
"I can't let you do the dishes, Milady!"
"Fuck off!"
"Milady!" I walked towards the pantry and threw the utensils into the sink. I might have heard something crack beneath. But I didn't care as much as Lict.
"Milady! The dishwashing soap is touching your soft skin!" Lict panicked as he stood beside me, "Also, you have your menstrual cycle! You can't work!"
"Shut up!" I turned towards him, "I won't do this if you didn't make me mad!"
"Are you mad?" He asked like a fool. That's when water crossed the roof.
I threw the plate at him and he caught it, "That could've hurt me!" Well then, sucks that it didn't!
I threw Lord Akagi's cup at him. He didn't catch it. He let it fall.
"You little devil," I smirked. I threw everything I could see at him. From crockery to forks and knives. From catching, he turned to dodge.
"Why are you yelling?" Lord Akagi reached the pantry upon listening to all the noise we were creating. Melissa stood behind him.
"You won't know, Milord. That's how angry sex starts," Melissa grinned.
"Shut up, Melissa!" I shouted at her. I was about to throw something at her too. I had gone insane with anger.
"Stop throwing a tantrum. You're not a kid." Lord Akagi berated me.
"This is my house! I will throw a tantrum and no one will stop me!" I shrieked and I stomped my feet on the floor.
"...What a brat. Should I kill it?" Lord Akagi said.
"Can you kill me?! I challenge you!" I wasn't expecting him to get serious. He took out his gun, "I was just playing with you!" I laughed.
"I don't play games," I called it!
Lict picked me up on his shoulders, "I'll take you to your room, Milady."
"Put me down! I will fight!"
"Is she high?" Lord Akagi said.
"Higher than your standards!" I shouted, "You chose a slut over me and this Lict bastard chose his dishes over me! Men are all dogs! I hate you all!" I didn't know what I was saying—Forgive me, Lord Akagi! I'm not me currently.
"Late bloomers become a bit retarded I suppose," Melissa roasted.
"A bit?" Lord Akagi burned. I struggled for Lict to let me go but my stomach began hurting more so I just stopped. He lay me on the bed and looked into my eyes. "Lict, you—" He pressed my hands on the bed.
"Calm down, Milady. Alright, I'll sleep with you."
"And what about the mess I created downstairs?" I was finally in my right mind. Lict sighed and looked into my eyes. He smiled, "We'll see to it tomorrow."
He lay beside me and I just looked at him relax himself.
"Aren't you gonna sleep, Milady?" He looked at me. How could I? He looked so happy. In the darkroom, he glowed with a light tint of golden. He looked into my eyes as I looked into his.
"What are you thinking?" I asked as I squirmed my feet in the sheets.
"I'm just thinking that... Isn't it absurd? How can humans kill a god? Since you're a demigod, one of your parents must be a god, right? And mortals can't kill immortals. Maybe whoever killed them wasn't a human, Milady."
"You're still thinking about it?" I asked.
"That's because it made you cry. You rarely cry so it must have hurt you a lot and means a lot to you." Did you read my mind even before we met? Because there's no way a person like you can exist. He smiled, "But I am a star."
"But I didn't cry!"
"Say," He touched my face and moved closer, "Why do you always lie to me, Milady?"
I blushed, "What did I lie about?"
"A lot of things. You know, whenever you lie, you hide your eyes." I didn't know that, do I?
"I don't like it when you hide your eyes. After all, they are so pretty—You should show them off rather than putting a veil of lies over them."
"Do you like my eyes?"
"I love them."
"And what about me?"
"Huh?
"Nothing! Sleep!" I turned my back.
"Good night, Milady."
But I couldn't sleep. I turned towards him at night. He wasn't glowing anymore. So, maybe he was asleep? Looking at him I wondered what life would be without him. I pressed my hands over his warm skin and watched him breathe. I didn't want him to be temporary.
"I'm jealous that you can sleep. Because I can't."
