0 6 Meeting An Author
What nasty rumours was this man talking about? I asked him about them but he didn't reply so I decided not to ask the same question again. After that, he stared at me all the way as we walked towards the main door. I knocked at the door and the door opened by itself. I looked inside and almost lost my vision. Was this really my mansion? It was so organised and clean.
The chandeliers were glistening like they used to. I could see my reflection on the floor tiles and the glass ceiling. Was our mansion always such a sweet fascination? I could see the paintings drawn on the floor tiles, which lit up as I walked over them. This was something magical and completely mindblowing. I could hear the faint voices of the wind chimes.
I ran towards the centre of the hallways and the curtains were drawn open. The flowers in the flower pots blossomed by themselves. I could see mom's old piano kept at some distance. I turned back "Lict!" I called. And Lict was suddenly behind me. I was taken aback since I wasn't expecting him to be there as soon as I called out his name.
He got on his right knee and pressing his right hand over his heart, he bowed.
"Command me, Milady," He requested. I didn't know what to say.
"We have guests," I replied, awkwardly. Lict got up and turned back. He shot a glance at Melissa. She waved at him and he looked at Melissa's demigod, ignoring her completely.
"You shouldn't be here." He said and turned towards her.
"Lict..." Melissa slowly walked towards him.
"Melissa, don't." Her demigod grabbed her hand. Then, he moved towards Lict, "We need to talk."
"But I don't want to talk—"
"Does it look like I care?"
Lict turned back and glared at him. Then, he looked at Melissa, "Why are you doing this?"
"I'm just here to help you."
"Why now?"
"Are you still angry?" Melissa asked as she moved towards him. What was going on? I mean, did something bad happen in the past. I feel like they share a dark past. But, since I didn't know anything, I decided to stay quiet and just listen.
"Won't you be angry? And why would you return back to a murderer?" Lict asked.
"You're not a murderer," Melissa said.
"You said it yourself."
"I didn't mean it—"
"Does it look like I care?" Lict looked at her demigod. Alright, what the hell happened? There were so many possibilities that I didn't know where to think and to what extent. Lict moved away from her "I can still see it all in my mind. The way you turned sides and walked away," She raised her head "You left me, Melissa—You walked away."
She got up and looked into his eyes, "If you hate me so much, why would you protect me when they attacked?" She asked.
He looked at her "How can you say it was me?" He asked.
She smiled "You shine golden,"
Yeah, I've noticed it too. He gives out a faint, golden light. So, is it just him and not all other stars? Melissa didn't give off a golden light. So, Lict is special? He turned back and smiled at me with his mellow eyebrows.
"Just what are you?"
He moved his eyeballs playfully towards the ceiling, as if thinking of an answer, then he looked at me.
"I'm music in human form."
You're golden magic, wrapped up in human flesh and hidden in blue blood that peeks through your bold blue eyes, crossing lines they shouldn't have. Nobody should have. Nobody had. I smiled back at him.
"Lict, are we buddies again?" Melissa smiled as she leaned towards him, "I know you still like me, and I like you too. We are friends, you and I—"
"Listen, Melissa," Lict interrupted, "One day it'll be just you and me on a battlefield in the blank space. Someone would have to lose and I don't want to be that someone. So assume whatever you want to because I know you won't listen to my opinions about you anyways, that's just how you are. So, I won't say anything except that when it's time, I won't hesitate to kill you."
This got really depressing. But I like this Lict. I'd love to place an order often!
"It's fine. That is far away from now." Melissa smiled but Lict didn't.
"Then, let's introduce ourselves." Melissa's demigod suggested and brought his right hand forward. I brought my left hand forward. I could touch people using this because it was covered. He looked at me awkwardly and maybe he was annoyed.
"Trust me, I have my reasons," I assured him that I'm not as retarded as he thought I was.
"I'm Vierne Obolensky. The heir to the princely Obolensky family of the Rurik dynasty and the daughter of the late earl, Avgustin Obolensky." I introduced myself just like I used to when I was a child. You see, I was proud, and I found it absolutely necessary to make others know that I was proud.
I thought he'd be intimidated, but he just shook my hand as if my words meant nothing to him—This peasant! "I'm Akagi Scheczalier. I'm a novelist. I guess that's all." I will tell you what happened next, I froze. I squeezed his hand so tight that I think he might have died due to lack of blood circulation lest I hadn't been stopped timely. He looked at his hand, which was begging him to save it as it had turned as pale as my face.
"Could you please leave my hand?" He requested, rudely.
"Introduce yourself again."
"I'm Akagi Scheczalier."
"No, you're not."
"Yes, I am."
"No, you're not."
"Yes, I am."
I fainted.
"Milady!"
Oh lord. I've grown weak to surprises. I just remember being carried to my room. I don't know who it was—As if! I know it was my butler! Why is he doing this? Because he obviously doesn't care for me. He just wants this magnificent body of mine! I suddenly opened my eyes and Lict was above me.
"What are you doing?" I narrowed my eyes. He was taking advantage of an unconscious and helpless woman—What a lowlife!
"I was covering you with a blanket, Milady," He smiled.
"I will do it myself!" I snatched the blanket from him and ended up shredding it with my right hand.
"Oh no, what a waste." He picked up the pieces and brought them together "There, it's just as if it's all new again."
"Listen, I don't want to sleep in the daylight." I wasn't a fowl! What was this heathen even thinking by suggesting something as vile as that! But then I jolted up, "Where's Lord Akagi?"
"Lord?"
I pushed the musical mess away and jumped out of my bed. I ended up twisting my foot and fell flat on the floor. Well, I almost did but Lict pulled me up and I fell into his lap.
"Are you okay, Milady?" He inquired as I sat on his lap. He looked at my foot and said, "Does it hurt?"
"Ah—" We both looked ahead as someone peeped from the crack of the door. It was Melissa.
"Can I join?" She asked. Did she want to twist her leg too? I've read hundreds of novels but never once in my fantasy world of bookish imagination did I encounter a creature such as Melissa herself. That's how fresh she was in my life.
"Are you guys interested in a threesome?" She asked. What is a threesome? Is it something like handsome but three times more? If it were then I think Lict needed it more than me.
Just then, Lord Akagi came to the door.
"Why are you guys fucking with the door open?" He asked.
"We're not!" Yes Lict, tell them!
"And why are you letting her peep? Is this some kind of weird fetish?"
"I didn't let her peep, she came just now!" Yes Lict, tell them!
Lord Akagi turned towards Melissa, "What are you thinking?"
"A foursome sounds nice too." He dragged her out of the room by her ear.
"Ah—Lord Akagi, your autograph..." I murmured. Oh nevermind, he'd be here tonight too. That's when I'd ask him to give me an autograph. I'd ask Lict to arrange a dinner for him. I looked at my leg, and you know what—It healed already. I've not felt so non-human in a while. Fear me, mortals!
