I smell the scent of fear
Though you're a thousand miles away.
Your trembling figure and dreadful eyes
Would make a great display.
If I would, I'd take a picture
And hang it proudly on my wall.
So that your pretty little tear-stained face
Would be loved and seen by all.
But remember, little mouse,
Only I can taste your fear.
They may look and observe the art,
But they can never touch nor come near.
For you are mine and mine alone
Ever since you broke the chains.
And the price to pay is a single dose
Of toxic venom in your veins.
No need to fear, little mouse.
I assure you, it's just a drop.
Now open wide and stay still
Before I make your joints pop.
I'm kidding of course.
I would never hurt my toys.
But I do love hearing them wail and whine
As I bend and break their poise.
So why don't you sing for me
While the poison takes effect?
Feel the burn and the heat
As it travels down your neck.
Close your eyes, little mouse,
And let it muddle your mind.
Forget clarity. Push it away.
Leave it all behind.
Feel the venom taint your core
And set your skin on fire.
Watch it corrupt your heart and soul
As you give in to your desires.

Fun Fact: My own poems scare me.
Sometimes, even my own works terrify me. Take this poem as an example. Reading 'Venom in Your Veins' sends chills down my spine and makes me uncomfortable. It gives off such a creepy, ominous vibe as if there's an insane person after you. Imagine being kidnapped or being held captive by a mad person... shudders. However, I am glad that it does have that kind of effect on readers, so that they won't romanticize the story nor the situation. THIS IS NOT HOW A HEALTHY RELATIONSHIP LOOKS LIKE!
Question and Answer: Here is a section where you can ask anything about the poem or the work itself. I'll do my best to answer them all.
If you enjoyed this chapter, don't forget to leave a comment and hit that star-shaped button! Have an awesome day, my lovelies!
