Chapter 2: The Blossom of a Newfound Friendship
Who are you, o faceless knight,
Who hides behind the screen?
You've already fulfilled your duty
And have shown me marvellous things.
Oh, don't get me wrong, good sire.
I do enjoy your company.
But one question still lingers...
Why aren't you leaving me?
Is there something you wish?
Perhaps a payment you require?
Do you need anything from me?
An item you must acquire?
My apologies in advance
For I have no money or riches to give,
Nothing but a lonely heart, some love,
And a friendship as long as we live.
Would you accept my humble offering?
Would you accept this gift of friendship?
Even if we are a thousand miles apart,
Would you still want a relationship?
Not the lovey-dovey kind,
A strong bond between friends,
A bond that stands the test of time,
One that lasts though the world ends.
What do you say, fearless knight?
Will you venture into unknown waters?
Don't worry, I won't leave
Even if we face its ugly horrors.
I'll stay by your side
Through stormy seas and sleepless nights,
And I promise to hold your hand
Until we get to see the beautiful sunrise.

Fun Fact: The way I wrote the story was inspired by The Iliad & The Odyssey.
During one of my Lithuanian language lessons, we discussed Greek myths such as The Iliad & The Odyssey, Narcissus and Echo, Sisyphus' Punishment, Icarus' Flight, etc.
The way Homer wrote The Iliad & The Odyssey amazed me, and so I thought to myself, "Why don't I do the same?" True, I didn't use a dactylic hexameter, (I am not a genius like him), but I did tell the story through the poems.
Question and Answer: Here is a section where you can ask anything about the poem or the work itself. I'll do my best to answer them all.
If you enjoyed this chapter, don't forget to leave a comment and hit that star-shaped button! Have an awesome day, my lovelies!
