Chapter 16: Call of the Siren
O Shadow Knight who sails the sea,
Listen to the siren's call.
Heed my words and listen well.
Close your eyes and trust the fall.
Put away your armour.
Toss it out the door.
Unsheathe your sabres,
And place them on the floor.
Lower your defences.
Disarm all the cannons.
Abandon the harpoons,
And chain down your dragons.
Trust in me...
Trust in me...
Take a dip
Dive into the sea.
Yes, that's it.
Walk towards the plank.
Keep going, almost there.
Let your mind go blank.
I watched him take the plunge,
Diving without a second thought.
He cannot escape me now.
I'll have him between my claws.
In the blink of an eye,
I took him down to the depths.
With no air left to breathe,
He struggled in the hands of death.
He fought. He resisted.
He tried to swim away.
But I am here to ensure,
He never sees another day.
Just then, a blinding light
Engulfed the seven seas.
I woke up in my room alone
With the evening's chilly breeze.

Fun Fact: I read about myths during Lithuanian Literature class. (Yes, I study in Lithuania, but I am NOT Lithuanian.)
Although I do not believe in myths (no offence to the people who do), I do find them very interesting. Let's just say that once upon a time, when I had absolutely no motivation to write, we studied about mythological creatures in class. One that piqued my interest the most was the siren. so I thought, "Hey, this would be good for the story/poem!"
Not gonna lie, it lowkey reminds me of The Little Mermaid-
Minus the evil/seduction part of course. Ms. Cecily really pulled out a reverse card and used it on Mr. Shadow Knight here. Hehehe, now how does it feel to be the hunted? Like, OH HOW THE TABLES HAVE TURNED! MUAHAHAHAHA... HA... HA... HA.. aHeM-
See you on the next poem, lovelies! Have a lovely day!
