Chapter 15: Poison Apple

I want to take a bite.

Too bad that it's forbidden.

Anyone can see it in plain sight.

It's not secured nor is it hidden.

I can eat it, right?

I can taste it, can't I?

Oh who am I kidding?

If I do, I'll surely die.

It seems so luscious.

I really want a taste.

But if I take a bite,

Then I'll be a disgrace.

Fine, I'll look away.

I won't think about the apple.

I'll go ahead and drag my feet

To the nearest holy chapel.

Come one, little toes.

You too, legs lean and strong.

I try to move, but they won't budge.

Is there something wrong?

A serpent gold and green

Wrapped itself around my limbs.

Looking at its mirror-like eyes,

I saw my desires and my whims.

Not so fast, Cecily.

I know you want the fruit.

Grab an apple, take a bite,

Then I'll let go of your foot.

But I can't!

Yes, you can!

I don't want to!

Yes, you do!

Alright, I'll do it!

I reached out and seized the fruit.

I sunk my teeth and took a bite,

Tasting the crimson juice.

Fun Fact: This poem is inspired by a certain story.

Biblical reference cough cough... Biblical reference cough cough... Book of Genesis cough cough...

If there's one thing that I've learned, that would be to FLEE from temptation. Don't walk. Go RUN! YEET it out the window. I know that it's VERY hard to do (Even I myself am struggling with it), but the longer you stare at that tempting fruit the more you'll be likely to take a bite. So remember lovelies, once you encounter temptation, go RUN FROM IT. Distract yourself and plug your ears. Don't listen to the Great Deceiver (or else you'll end up like Ms. Cecily here).

Stay safe, y'all!
