It was November the 18th
As I sat alone in my room,
Where the sun refused to shine
On my face so filled with gloom.
My lonely heart, it ached
For a companion so dear,
Someone to love, to cherish,
Someone to always hold near.
So naive and so foolish,
My fingers rushed to grab my phone.
Perhaps Facebook? Maybe Tinder?
I just don't want to be alone.
Oh, what a big mistake it was,
One that I will later regret.
But who cares about consequences
When a fog of lust clouds your head?
With my vision blurred and hazy,
I opened the door; darkness to creep in.
And the next thing I knew,
I was trapped in the lion's den.
Powerless against the beast,
I desperately cried for help.
Violently banging on the huge metal bars,
I used all that I had left and yelled.
"Please..." I begged and I cried
Four hours straight 'til help arrived.
You came to me in the form of a shadow.
An unexpected knight, a very strange fellow.
I find it weird that you brought light
Though you're a creature of the night.
You made me feel so safe, secure.
I was entranced with your allure.
You fought the mighty beast
And brought it to knees.
You emerged from the battlefield victorious
With your sword of codes and commands oh so glorious.

Fun Fact: This is the first time I've ever used an actual outline.
I was supposed to write it the same way as "Happily Ever After" (by pantsing), but I learned my lesson. Outlining helped me collect my thoughts and remember what I wanted to write down. The outline served as a roadmap, so I did not get lost along the way. It also helped me overcome writer's block.
Question and Answer: Here is a section where you can ask anything about the poem or the work itself. I'll do my best to answer them all.
If you enjoyed this chapter, don't forget to leave a comment and hit that star-shaped button! Have an awesome day, my lovelies!
