Dear Journal.

Tell me how can a man be so happy?

I feel like I can touch the moon.

This weekend has been a whirlwind of joy and excitement.

Since our return from Rome, I've been practically giddy with anticipation for our date. Carla's been teasing me about my constant smile, noting how my mood has noticeably brightened. It's true; there's been a spring in my step, a renewed sense of contentment that's hard to ignore.

(I'm sure the interns are happy that I'm no longer breathing dragon fire at them.)

Today, we went shopping for our date, and it felt like the ultimate indulgence.

I have a sizeable amount of money—not that I'm bragged. Well...perhaps a little bit. All that money and not a single person to spend it on. Can you imagine horror.

I splurged on myself with a sort of reckless abandon, enjoying every minute of it. I splurged on May as well because she deserves the best that life has to offer. She turned the tables on me. May turned our shopping spree into a small fashion show, making me model outfit after outfit for her till she was satisfied. Of course she was a fantastic audience, and she even let me pick out a few clothes for her.

Each outfit was met with her enthusiastic approval, making the experience all the more enjoyable.

I felt like a statue of Adonis being adorned by its creator.

(Too narcissistic? I'll take it up with my therapist.)

As I admired her choices, I remarked that my ideal woman is beautiful, intelligent, and wonderfully fashionable.

She responded with a teasing smile, saying I had forgotten something. When I asked what it was, she winked and reminded me that she's incredibly witty too. I was tempted to drag her into a dressing room and simply have my way with her, but I managed to restrain myself. (I'm not an animal—I'm a gentleman ) Instead, we left the store with several bags and lighter wallets, feeling satisfied and exhilarated.

We went to a quaint café for lunch.

As we sipped our drinks, I asked May what she wanted out of life. I wanted to understand what drove her beyond her career aspirations. She opened up, sharing that despite being surrounded by people, she often felt alone and desired to create something that would outlast her. Her vulnerability was both touching and profound.

In response, I kissed her and told her that to me, she's the brightest star in the galaxy and that she's already making her dreams come true. Her smile was radiant as she said she couldn't have done it without me. I assured her that I merely gave her a push; it was all her effort and talent that made it possible.

She kissed me back and then asked if she could come over to my place tonight. I told her that I had a bottle of wine ready for us, a perfect way to end our wonderful day.

As I prepare for the evening ahead, I'm filled with a deep sense of satisfaction and excitement. The day has been a reminder of how lucky I am to have May in my life and how much I cherish the moments we share. Here's to more laughter, love, and shared dreams.

Much to do,

- Alexander
