Where did they go, and how could they leave you? You initially pondered the presumption that you deserved a heart which was kinder that his, but as time and trauma proceeded, your mind became overthrown. You, yourself became a prisoner locked behind the bars of your weakened mentality. Oh, how it burned your skin to be so alone and fragile, between the lines of reality and your fragility. Who could help you? Did you want to be helped? Did you believe that you were worthy of forgiveness or any remote act of kindness anymore? He reminded you of your worthlessness whenever you dared to vocalize your justifications. You truly believed that he took away your value, your opinion, and most importantly, your courage. You believed that he claimed your bravery and sealed it away, that it was now his to keep and always have for himself. You realize now... that you were wrong. Your bravery is your own and nothing has been taken from you; at least, nothing that you can't regain in lack of his toxicity within your vicinity.❞
