Dear Reader
~~~~~~~~~ooo~~~~~~~~~
Poet's Note: This letter is the intro to the "Dear Hurting, From Healing" series; however, it was actually not the first poem to be written. The reason I added it was because I wanted to give you readers a better understanding of WHY I'm writing this collection, what the broad purpose of it is, but not too specific that it takes away from the personal connection. It was perhaps one of the easiest to write, the words just flowed so perfectly, and I love how it turned out. It conveys my message perfectly. So while it may be structured a tiny bit differently than future poems, it is nevertheless important to showing you all why I do what I do and why I am who I am.
~~~~~~~~~ooo~~~~~~~~~
Dear Reader,
Blurred lines in color's rainstorm,
Smudged prints against your heart;
Whirlwind of feeling forming,
So much you don't even know where to start.
Too many struggling, too many hurting,
Too many fading into darkness' lies;
And your vision's blocked by emotions swirling,
Too many trials to handle in one mind.
So many problems to fix,
So many places to turn;
But each path circles to one desperate place,
The place of fear, the place of no hope.
The place where every effort,
Results in the same;
Chaos' rages, echoes' silence,
The place of no exit, no waiting escape.
No lights ahead,
No beacon shining from shore;
And with only sharp piercing rockbeds,
You're crying into the floor.
Dear Reader, your fire's weakening,
Because you've left the kindling aside;
But there's still a flicker in the downpour remaining,
A tiny flame nothing will ever make die.
Hope in the distance for you, Reader, follow me on the path to produce,
A new confidence blooming in courage and fight;
Cause even when the shadows are longer, and the night's taking over,
Peace moves closer with every step away from your plight.
For every soul left in shards, for every heart broke apart,
Reader, this message is for you!
It's not about my life turned, it's about what I've learned,
And I'm here to guide you till you discover the truth.
There's a long way to fall, and I know you've had the worst of it all,
We're all paddling in our own sinking boat afloat;
And as the energy's draining, our broken pieces keep shaking,
Muffled screams tearing out from our souls.
And I don't know where you've been, I can't change how it ends,
I can only inspire you to fight for yourself;
It's a world full of hiding, struggling to surviving,
But a widespread change always starts from a spark.
We all deserve our life's pride, an aspire to thrive,
To live and be in joyful paradise;
But Reader, it comes at a price, a choice to fight for what's right,
But it's a power that must start with your mind.
I know it's often hard, to spot in the crashes and falls,
But Reader, don't you ever lose sight;
There's a light in your eyes, a strength fueling in dark skies,
Adrenaline ignited when the hard choice is the right.
Your duty is now, to raise yourself from the floor,
Don't waste your chance going down with no fight;
Reader, I was you! Reader, I am you!
And Reader, I'm here to stand by your side.
Through thick and through thin, we will never give in,
There's an end goal on the other side of this night;
A mission to fulfill, a will to impact what we can still,
To not let the hurt define our lives.
I'll be here when you're sad, when you don't have the strength to persist,
And I won't let you lose the battle tonight;
Cause there's a reason to smile, to go on another mile,
Reader, you're ready to leap to new heights!
And if you flounder, you'll grow stronger, gain more courage and power,
Even through the most bumpy rides;
My hand can help you from the floor, but it's your choice to endure,
Reader, you can move the clouds in your own stormy skies.
These words from my heart, they're truly only the start,
Your future remains up to you;
So build your life to inspire, to burn in full fire,
Reader, this is my message to you.
Someday I'll be gone, but what I leave behind will live on,
My message to you, dear Reader, keep it burning strong!
My mark on the world, cause it's a world full of hurt,
But there's an answer in this truth that I've found.
But it's not about me, it's about the pain that I've seen,
It's about you and the journey you're on;
And when I leave this life behind, I pray this message will never die,
Cause Reader, we all need a little hope in a poem.
I have been called, and I choose to respond!
But Reader, the rest is up to you;
Find the love, find the beauty, find the inspiration you're seeking,
And then spread it back out of you!
We can be the fight, we can be the fire,
We can be the light tearing through the dark;
Ripple effect start to stirring, a chain reaction exploding,
There's a universe in need of our help.
So to all the girls, to all the boys,
To all the people spread out far and wide;
For the hurt awaiting a healing,
And for those hiding how they're broke inside.
From all the hope, from all the love,
From this burning fire inside of me;
And into your hearts, receive these words,
As I pour them out of me.
This mission starts here!
Right on this very page;
And we can spread it where we take it,
In everything we do and say.
My life is not mine,
I'm giving it to the world I see;
In every breath and every word,
I'm no longer living for me.
Dear Reader, I understand,
The war waging inside of you;
Destructive battle, tearing forces,
So much to fear and so much to lose.
But there's a glow ahead,
A bright horizon across the skies;
So keep running on forward,
Knowing this truth will forever be by your side.
In full confidence,
I know this is what I'm made to do;
For all you hurt and all you hurting,
For all the pain inside of you.
I dedicate to this cause,
This goal not intended for me;
Because I'm ignited for a reason,
To show the world the joy of liberty free!
I have nothing to gain,
And I have nothing to lose;
Cause Reader-
I give this all to you.
From, Rea
