Dear Miracle
~~~~~~~~~ooo~~~~~~~~~
Poet's Note: "Dear Miracle" hits so close to home on something so strong, so personal, and so deep inside of us, a foe I believe we often underestimate until it seems like we've lost all control: our own emotions. If you're like me, then you've fought through those days when you can't find words, can't find a feeling, can't find ANYTHING. You're just lost, so confused, and you can't even describe it. Yourself. You're waiting on a hero, a turn-around, a lightbulb moment where everything can return to how it was, how it should be. But what I've learned through all of these days I have faced... is that I was safe all along. This poem is meant to convey how WE can be the ones to make the change, to embrace our feelings, not fear them, and once we see how the chaos can be our protection... we can be that miracle we've waited for.
Dear Miracle,
Like stars in the sky, flickering one at a time,
Until all of them have faded to gone;
The night courses over, so much darker and stronger,
Leaving behind only more pain and hurt.
Wind sending chills, in a fire that burns,
No sound of life, the silence rings on;
Hopeless and burned, pointless to endure,
Because your power's snuffed out in the storm.
In failure, you're drowning, not a struggle worth fighting,
Because there's no flying, only crash and burn;
Too hard to get up, such a slim chance of fixes,
No form of miracle could save you now.
Where's that promise you gave? Where's your choice to fight on?
Maybe left in another lifetime;
Back when it all seemed to work, full of life instead of hurt,
Before the storm rose in which you're floundering.
It's too far back to shore, no other options to procure,
Only waves and wind of suffocating chaos;
Wheel stuck in its place, and you're too weak to change,
All alone and you're going under.
Too deep and too wide, there's no safe haven to hide,
It's all over, and you're sinking down with it;
Fading and swirling, twisting and churning,
If miracles are real, why can't they find you now?
Losing your way, in your own pool of mistakes,
Locked away by a key unfound;
Something to break down the doors, raise you up off the floor,
Yes, a hero is what you need now.
Fantasy's but a dream, a mere thing to help you sleep,
But in the end, it only seems to waste time;
A devastating explosion, left you broken and hurting,
And you'll never be the same again.
Oh Miracle, there's only so far to fall,
Till you hit the point where you remember who you are;
Every ocean deep rises, rises up from a floor,
So when you've hit the bottom end wall, you can't fall anymore.
Every road you travel loops its way back to a start,
The start of your journey, and your bounce back from dark;
Everything that you've seen, all the feelings of hurt,
Gathered up from around, and released in the fire's burn.
Tossing and hurling between every strong wave,
Letting them use you, cause you can't seem to escape.
Turning eyes from the center, praying it will never come,
But facing your fears is the only way to overcome.
It's in the eye of the storm, where fear fades away,
Lost in the chaos, drowned out in the rain;
It's the one hope of peace, the only break from the pain,
Your foundation that carries everything you've ever faced.
Caught in the middle, but still safe from each aim,
Each move on your heart, that twists new ways every day;
Hidden so small, in the depths of your soul,
It's the center of the circle, the command for all controls.
It can seem uninviting, and fear it initiates,
But it's those that can find it, who make it out okay;
It is those who find courage to avert their flaring eyes,
To turn gaze to the center, lock target with full pride.
Miracles don't swoop in,
And whisk the pain away;
They come when you find them,
When you're willing to whisper their name.
They don't flash, they're a spark,
They're explosions unlit to ignite;
And Miracle, they're ready,
When you're ready for the ride.
There's no way to opt out,
No way to escape;
Only a beautiful middle,
An emotion charged place.
Yes, peace comes with acceptance,
Miracles flow through in pure;
When you glide with the punches,
And each test to endure.
No one's without pain,
We all face trials of our own;
And no one's are the same,
That's why we're all miracles of our own.
Miracle, you're a blessing,
This battle's over you;
And as both sides, it's your choice,
To choose which victory endures.
You can't bypass struggles,
You can only accept their rightful place;
Their place in your story,
And in the choices you make.
They're your saviors, your teachers,
Your hard-loving friends;
The ones who show you perseverance,
Teach you to fight till the end.
If you try to avoid,
Then you'll forever have to hide;
Stop running, start fighting,
And make the choice to survive.
You're human, but an angel,
Miracle, you're power in disguise;
And when you accept fear as an ally,
There's nothing left for you to fight;
There'll be hurt, there'll be pain,
And there's no stopping that;
But only you get to steer it,
With the miracle that life is.
It's a movement, it's a choice,
Connecting both sides;
Because that feeling makes you you,
The you who only one life gets to try.
Control, that's what you get,
In the eye of the storm;
Watch the turmoil swirl around,
Like just another of life's shows.
An experience you receive,
Not a burden you suffer;
The chance to accept yourself,
And spread that acceptance to others.
You're the eye of your storm,
Miracle, you laugh in the rain;
And these feelings around you,
Make you who you are today.
Miracle, there's no answer,
Only you get to make the change;
But that change's more of a transfer,
To see things in a different way.
Miracle, don't give up,
Wipe those tears from your eyes;
Lift your head, stand up strong,
No longer run, no longer hide.
Hear your name in the wind,
Calling you to its fray;
You're a fighter, a survivor,
A full thriver even through the pain.
Control it, don't give in,
Because I promise you're strong;
You're a dreamer, a believer,
In this journey of life you're on.
It's not over yet,
And who knows what's coming your way;
But all you need is inside you,
It's the one of a kind in your veins.
Miracle, there's no hero,
Fantasy's but a dream;
There's no one that can save you,
Nothing to break you free.
Only one, one hope,
One solution to this pain;
And if you keep to it, I promise,
You'll never be the same.
You'll have energy, full power,
Adrenaline you can't describe;
And there's no stopping, no challenging,
No way to take the fire from someone's own eyes.
Miracle, there is no rescue,
No one can find that key;
All the feelings you've been hiding,
That have brought you to your knees.
Yes, there's just one light of triumph,
One star left in the sky;
And it's that voice in the darkness,
The shine radiating through the night.
There's a hope, there's a promise,
A secret through an open door;
Cause, Miracle-
You are that miracle you've waited for.
