Chapter Three
"Whose there?" Breanna moaned into the bench.
"Breanna, it's me." She felt someone bend down on the ground beside of her. "Alan Powell. We met at the premiere of 'The Song'."
Breanna slowly sat up and looked in the grey-blue eyes filled with concern. "Why are you here?" It came out harsh sounding, but really Breanna just felt broken.
"Your crying..." Alan said. "What happened?"
"I don't...." Breanna started, then she scooted over on the bench. If she was going to discuss her problems with anyone, why not this man that would be leaving Hollywood for Nashville soon. It really made sense. She could get this off of her chest, and not have to worry about the paparazzi getting wind of it. "Having the job I do, working as an actress on a teen drama, my image is a big deal." She started. Alan nodded for her to continue. "Well. The fans are always interested in who is dating who, especially if it means the stars on the show are having an 'off-screen romance'. So that's how I started dating Lance Chandler. I thought we were going to work out. We were 'perfect'. Our agents set it up and we would go on dates at obvious places where photos could be taken. That started several months ago, well today Lance planned a date all on his own. He sent me the place and I found him there later. He was..."
Breanna stopped and started crying again. Alan patted her shoulder. "Come on, just let it out."
"He was kissing another girl. A waitress at some diner." Breanna let the words out in a weary sigh.
Alan nodded and was quiet for a few minutes. "I'll be praying for you, Hollywood." He gave her a goofy grin.
"Did you just call me Hollywood?" Breanna half sobbed, half laughed. But never the less she was actually smiling.
"Yeah. I figured since we had this heart to heart, that it was only fitting I gave you a nickname." Alan shrugged in an easy going manner.
Breanna wasn't really sure what to make of Alan Powell. But she actually did feel like a real honest to goodness friendship might be possible. He handed her a slip of paper with his cell phone number on it, and gave her a hug. "Everything is going to work out just find, Hollywood. Don't you worry your pretty little mind." And with that he smiled, and left Breanna to sit and think.
