Chapter Seven
I'm doing it. I go up to the director (granted very slow, because of my ankle) and face him head on. "Breanna? How are you?" The words would be caring coming from anyone else, but from him I knew he was just wanting me back on set.
"I quit." The two words slipped from my mouth simply.
I didn't give him time to even disagree with me. I gathered all my things and called a taxi, I want out of here.
"Taxi!" A voice says as I feel a broad shouldered guy bump into me. He looks down at me and we are both blushing. "Hi. It's you again." He then realizes we are just staring at each other. "I never introduced myself. I'm Jayson Keith."
"Breanna Higgins." We shake hands. And the next thing I know I'm saying, "You inspired me. I just became a Christian and what you did... well I quit my job today. Well just now."
Jayson just stands there blinking, and suddenly I notice he is crying. "That's amazing!" He wraps me in his big arms and hugs me tightly. "Sorry if that was awkward. I'm just glad to have a new sister in Christ." His eyes gleam as he smiles at me.
A taxi chooses this moment to pull up. "Want to take it together?" I ask, suddenly shy.
"I'd like that." Jayson smiles.
I can't explain why but I feel like this is the start of a great new friendship. Who knows? Maybe if God directs it that way... well it could someday be even more.
