02 | You fucking midget

- Chapter 02 -

You fucking midget

"Hidan, it is nice to see you again," Ibiki-sensei greeted, making the male student straighten up and grunt unpleasantly.

"Whatever, geezer."

Akira raised an eyebrow at the familiar behavior between the males but decided not to give it a lot of credit since she had more important things to worry about. Such as that this Hidan guy was awfully familiar to her and she was suspicious as to from where she had recognized him; even the thought of it was making chills run down her spine. Hidan was one of the names she had read previously in her gathered data about the famous gang and only the remembrance of their fight . . .

Crap. He seems tough and powerful, a merciless monster. If I wasn't well trained and Anko-sensei hadn't separated us . . . I would have been dead now.

"Tch, tch, tch. Didn't your parents teach you to respect your elders and not to swear in school?" Ibiki-sensei asked, a malicious smirk being etched on his face.

Hidan gritted his teeth in annoyance and tightened his grip around the nearly-destroyed chair he was sitting on.

Then, the teacher's gaze travelled upon the shortie, entertainment and interest sparkling into his eyes. He made slow-paced footsteps towards Akira, making sure that he would scare her, even if it wasn't indicated much.

"Well, well. What do we have here? And what is your name, wimpy kid?"

"Akira Fukui, sir."

Akira couldn't believe that she was actually scared of this man. Her? Scared of this old geezer who must had had triple her age? That was an actual surprise.

"Akira. . . Fukui, huh? The new student. I see. . . "

The new student? Akira thought in utter confusion, almost giving Ibiki-sensei a terrified look. It is my first day here and there must be at least ten other new students so how . . . how does he know that I'm a new student in here?

"Eh, sir. How do you know that I'm new in this school?" the shortie asked with a trembling voice, cussing inwardly for letting her uncertainity show up.

A sound of annoyance was heard from Hidan's side as he leaned back on his chair, proceeding to answer her obviously useless question, "Firstly, you are not fuckin' fit for this school and that shows up a lot. Secondly, you are the only fucking brat who dared to join our damn school. I swear, where the hell did you find the guts to do that?"

The Jashinist's explanation had caused Akira to let her mouth hang open, revealing her complete surprise about the last statement.

"The only bloody student?! How the eff-- How did this happen anyways?"

Ibiki snickered and sat back on his chair, only to scowl, "You will have to survive at least one week in this school to discover why, brat."

B-brat? Akira's eye twitched upon hearing the "nickname" she was given but brushed it off and decided to remain silent in her seat and not say a thing for the rest of the time remaining. Besides, the shortie was already stressed out for sneaking into an all-boys' school and her first day starting with a fight wasn't the best thing that could happen to her life. If her father learnt that she had gotten into trouble, Akira would get yelled at back at home. But like hell did she care; her demanding father was the one that had gotten them into trouble anyways.

The hour passed with Hidan glaring daggers at the poor newbie who was desperately trying to hide while Ibiki-sensei was sitting calmly in his seat, giving off an eerie atmosphere.

When the bell rang, Akira shot up from her seat, bowed at the detention teacher and tried to leave as fast as she could. While she tried to escape from the upcoming encounter, her body was immediately pushed against the wall with force. Akira flinched and looked at Hidan who was holding her firmly by her shoulders.

"You are not made for this school, you fuckin' midget. So watch your back."

With that, the Jashinist let go of her and walked away with his hands shoved in his pockets. The ginger watched him leave until he disappeared behind the corner. Then, Akira hissed and massaged her shoulders to get rid of the pain which was caused from his tight grip.

"Great. I'm being threatened on my first day here. Just what the heck is happening in this school?" she wondered and shook her head, deciding to head towards the cafeteria to eat her homemade bento alone.

But when the shortie opened the cafeteria door, she realized that she was not going to find some peace and quiet in there. All the tables were stuffed with the male students of the Academy and food was tossed around from every possible direction of the room.

Akira sighed and closed the door before a pulp of mashed potatoes could land on her, thinking that the best place to eat in all alone would be the roof. As she headed up there with the bento in her hand, she noticed a sign which was forbidding the students from trespassing on the roof. The ginger shrugged and continued her way up, finally reaching the door and opening it.

The cold air hit Akira as she stepped on the rooftop and looked around, smiling for the first time since she came in this school. The soft whistling of the air was the only thing that could be heard and was creating a peaceful atmosphere.

The newbie looked around with excitement and started skipping towards the edge of the roof but was abruptly stopped when she noticed a familiar figure with physical grey hair and ripped pair of jeans standing already there with his back turned to her. Hidan.

Akira was ready to hide from her future murderer but decided to think about it twice. I think I should apologize. . . Besides, I need to befriend him or he'll kill me someday. Plus, he's an Akatsuki member and he can provide me a better access to crucial information about the organization.

The ginger head took a big breath and walked towards the Jashinist who was gazing at the sky calmly. Or so it seemed. When she was close enough to hear what he was mumbling about, she regretted having thought to apologize and reconsidered killing him if possible.

"That fucking short tranny . . . Who does he think he is? I'm gonna fucking kill him. That fucking short ginger head with damn anger issues . . ."

"You can tell these things in front of me, ya know," Akira pointed out as soon as she popped besides Hidan.

The male glared hardly at her before huffing with irritation and looking away. The girl clang on the steel bars and leaned on slightly, looking at the empty front yard and trying to avoid any eye contact with him.

"Shall I push you off, brat?" Hidan hissed at her with a smug smirk on his face.

Akira stuck her tongue out at him. Unexpectedly, he joined the sightseeing and propped his folded hands on the steel bar. Then, Akira decided to break the silence and justify her reason for coming up there - needless to say that she completely messed it up.

"Oi, Hidan. Let's stop fighting and be friends".

That was enough to make the Jashinist crack up laughing and the newbie blush out of embarassement because of that, "What is so funny?!"

"You and me? Friends?! That made me laugh harder than when I pulled that prank on Deidara! You must be fucking kidding me!"

"Oi! Stop laughing, you bastard!!"

The grey-haired Jashinist shook his head and walked away, towards the door which lead back to the building and its corridors, "You sound like a chick, fuckin' midget."

Akira gritted her teeth and glared at his back, "Is that a yes or no?"

"Fuck no!"

And with that, the Jashinist closed the door behind him and left back the newbie on the roof. The ginger let out an exasperated sigh and shook her head for the second time in a day, leaning her back against the bars and throwing back her head. She captivated again the beautiful sight and surprisingly, she smirked.

Damn you, Hidan.
