Diary Entry #11

August 10th, 2016

Dear diary,

I'm sorry for not writing in you lately, but I have been having a blast this past week! Damien took me to the movies for a rom-com, even though he says they're sappy.

I secretly think he likes them.

After that, we went out to eat. The steak, fried chicken and cookies were really good. He didn't mind that I ate a lot; I always did. He also took me to a jewelry place and let me pick out a piece of jewelry. I, of course, tried to pick the cheapest thing because he had spent enough money on me, but he insisted that I choose what I like.

I ended up picking a charm bracelet that intended to fill with things he and I did together. He's helped me forget about the fake love Will gave me. He made me feel like was worthy of someone's attention.

The first charm was a bag of popcorn because of the movie we went to together. Then, he bought a cheeseburger charm for the burger he had when we were at the restaurant. It was tacky, but it was cute either way.

After that, we headed to beach for a walk.

He hesitantly grabbed my hand, and when I looked up at him, his cheeks had a pink tint to them. I linked my fingers with his and smiled.

Then I decided to ruin the moment and poke his cheek.

He smiled. "What was that for?"

"Your cheeks are pink, Damien," I teased, "I wonder why."

His cheeks darkened. "I-it's hot out here, out know?" He averted his eyes from mine.

"Is it? Is it really?" I asked, getting closer to his ear. "You're shyyyyyy," I teased, drawing out the 'y'.

He snorted. "I am not."

"Just admit it. You are."

Damien groaned. "Fine, you're right," he mumbled.

I smiled widely. "Haha. I got you."

He turned towards me, stopping the walk.

"Oh, hey, we were almost there," I said, pointing at the beach.

He raised his left hand and cupped my cheek softly. "You have a beautiful smile."

I felt my cheeks heat up. As we stared into each other's eyes, I felt something inside of me open like a lock.

I liked Damien.

But it was too early for that. We've known each other for a couple weeks. Can feelings develop that fast?

Damien pulled away and smirked. "Got you all shy too, Betty," he said.

My jaw dropped. "You tease!"

He grabbed my hands as I was trying to punch his chest. "Payback, Betty, payback."

After we stopped laughing, our fingers laced together on their own accord.

"So, Betty," he said as we reached the beach.

I leaned down and took my shoes off with my free hand. "So, Damien," I mocked.

"I was wondering...Do you still like Will?" he said.

I shook my head. "No. He was mean and rude. I don't think it was ever love in the first place. I just thought I loved him. Once he dumped me, I realized that he was the one who messed up, not me."

He stared ahead for a few minutes before speaking. "He sure did mess up."

"What do you mean?" I asked with a confused expression.

Damien stopped and grabbed both of my hands in his, causing me to drop my shoes. "He messed up big time because you are a beautiful, lovable girl who wouldn't hurt a fly. I don't know why he would take advantage of a girl like you," he said.

I gave him a soft smile. "Damien, that's so sweet."

"That's why I wanted to tell you that I like you," he said quickly.

My heart started beating faster. He liked me? How could I be so lucky? Me, an ordinary girl, was being crushed on by some hot God with abs.

I didn't realize I was staring until he asked me to say something.

"I-I like you, too," I stuttered.

He smiled and trapped me in his embrace. As I hugged him back, I realized that this was the best I've ever felt with someone.

"So, Betty, will you do the honors of being my beautiful girlfriend?" Damien asked.

"Hmm...I think I can fit that into my schedule."

"That's great."

Sorry, Will, but I've moved on.

Hope you can too.
