Letters and Talks

~+16 years later: Rebellion Base+

Tika sat on her bed with a box full of letters on her lap. The box held blue letter envelopes containing letters from her mother. All of them being collected during the years she had been under her Uncles's care. Her grey eyes read over the words of her latest letter with a soft smile on her lips.

Dear Tika,

Hello as always, your Uncle Edd told me you succedded in flipping one of his strongest soldiers over yesterday during training. I'm so proud you were able to manage that task since his soldier looks like a body builder kind of guy. I've met the soldier, David, once and we chatted over a good drink back when the rebellion was still young. Ah, good memories haha.

Your brothers are getting along as always if your wondering. Just the other day they were fighting about who should get the last piece of cake. Let me tell you they weren't trying to be selfish, they actually wanted the other person to have it. I can only imagine what would happen if you were add to the mix.

As for your father, he's holding out on his work. I already told you in the past that he's a busy man and paperwork seems to love him a lot. I can only sigh and try to help him finish his work as always.

The teen rolls her eyes and giggles as she reads on. Her smile slowly comes to turn sad at the next part of her letter.

Once again, I come to this part of my letter where I apologize to you again.

Your Father and brothers do not know of your existence because of me. As you know from the past letters I've written you, I kept your birth a secret from them for the sake your safety.

You can hate me all you want, I would understand the anger you would have towards me for doing this. I will not fight for you to love me if my decision has hurt you, but please do not hate them.

Your olderest brother was the one who wished for your presence and you other older brother loves the thought so he supported the idea. Their faces just seem to light up at the thought of having a little sister.

Tika, my dear daughter, your father wanted so badly for a daughter too. He loved the idea of you coming into our life, however, as you know, war is active.

I feared you would not be safe with us so I ask your uncles to watch over you for the time being in secret.

I just wish for the best of you.

It's been sixteen years Tika. I miss you so much, but I am fine as long as you are safe. I can't wait for the day you can come home and be with us all.

Congratulations on turning 16, Happy Birthday Tika, I love you.

Love,
Your Mother

Tika sets the letter back into the blue colored envelop and lays it with the rest of them in the box. A sigh passes through her lips as she fiddles with the necklace hanging around her neck. She had gotten that necklace from her mother of her sixth birthday, it a simple carft: black string with a teardrop shape jewel hanging from it. The colors of the jewel is an intertwine of red and blue to her liking.

Woof!

Looking behind her, she smiles at her favorite companion. "Mom wouldn't mind if I sent her a gift, right?" She's answerd with two happy barks. "I guess you're right Seth. My dad and brothers would probably question mom where she got it from."

Her large dog whines as he lowers his head down on his owner's bed. Then Seth places his paws over his eyes at what his mistress just took from his happy barks the wrong way.

A few years ago, Tika had actually asked her uncles to send a small gift to her father. Reason because it was his birthday. Her mother had written a letter a week before to tell her about the happy event. She even kept the date on her calendar to remind herself of it every year. So one can only image how much begging she had to go through to have her uncles have someone send her small gift to her mother. Then she would give it to her father in Tika's place unaware of who gave the gift to him.

She was young and naive back then, she didn't dwell to think much about what to actually give him for a gift. Remembering the small gift made her feel embarrassed.

"Haha, I'm just kidding you big lug." Tika places her box of letters on her nightstand and goes to hugging her wolf dog lovingly. "Who's my favorite overgrown German Shepard? You are!"

She laughs as Seth starts licking her face in delight. "Alright Seth, let's head to the cafeteria to get lunch. I herd from Duke that he's got a juicy bone waiting for you."

As if the dog wasn't fast enough before, Seth surly went past the limits he had before to bolt out of her room in under a minute. Tika got up after him and ran after her dog.

When she got to the dining hall, she found Seth chewing on a bone by her uncles' table. She went over to there to find four people she grew up knowing very well. Tika greeted them with a polite smile.

"Good afternoon Uncle Edd, Uncle Matt. You too Eduardo and Mark."

These were the four people who made an impact on her life while growing up since she was a baby.

Her Uncle Edd being the kindest one out of all of them, yet a bit stern, always made sure to check in with her about how she's doing or if she needed anything in particular. The brunet had taught her how to draw in his free time too.

On the other hand, her Uncle Matt is amazing to her because he knows a lot about taking care of appearances. When she was younger, Tika didn't know how to fix her hair in a good style for her liking. She liked to keep her long and down but at the same time wanted some of her hair up. Matt saw this and decided to give her some help. He mainly too a brush and one hair tie and made the hairstyle she has today. Plus he's lenient with her most times when she makes a mistake.

Then there is Eduardo and Mark. Specifically, they work as secretaries to her uncles and 'babysitters' to her when she was younger. Ar least during the times her uncles were busy managing the Rebellion base and their soldiers. Tika tolerated Eduardo to a degree, may or may not having influenced by her Uncle Edd, that he is mean in general. However there were times Eduardo proved himself to her that he's a good guy too.

As for Mark, she liked him for always being on task and helping her Uncle Matt when he forgot things sometimes. Even when the ginger is super busy with paperwork, Mark is always there to help him out without complaint.

Her ginger haired uncle looks up from his papers and smiles back at her. "Afternoon to you Tika and Happy Birthday too. Take a seat, one of the cooks is bring your lunch over after seeing Seth run in here."

Tika laughs akwardly as she takes a seat across from her Uncle Edd, "Sorry about him. I hope he didn't cause much trouble barging in here." She knew her animal companion had a tendency to make a mess when he's too happy or over excited.

"It wasn't a problem at all," Edd assures her as he sets his work aside to finish his sandwich.

"Uh Loser, may I remind you that mutt knocked four of our soldiers out unconscious while running in here." Eduardo, Edd's secretary, reminds with his usual attitude.

Edd sends a small glare his old neighbor's way before looking back at his goddaughter with a now akward smile of his own. "Fine, he knocked out four soliders, but I assure you they are fine." He had ordered some of the soldiers earlier, who had finished eating, to help them to the medical room. Other than the bumps on their head, the four soldiers were fine.

Tika looks down at Seth with a disappointed expression that he whines at then soon feels guilty knocking the four soldiers out like a light. She brings her hand down to pat his head in comfort to gesture he's not in any deep trouble for what he did. "I'll make sure to do some training with him later in the front yard."

One of the cooks did come over to drop off Tika's lunch, a bowl of soup with a glass of ice tea.  She thanks the cook and the soldier returns to kitchen in a good mood.

"So how was your latest letter from your mother?" Matt asks.

"The same as always. Mom told me a few thing about what my brothers are doing and how dad is drowning in paperwork." She chuckles behind her hand and takes a sip of her drink, then sets it back down when she's done. "Mom's trying to help him as usual." The young girl lets out a heavy sigh, "I just wish I could see them already."

"Tika." Mark, who's sitting across from Matt, says in a knowing tone.

"I know, I know." Tika repeats knowing what her uncle Matt's secretary is referring to.

Three years ago she tried leaving the base to seek out her family on her own. Leaving the Rebellion soldiers and leaders in total panic. Although the event led her to being kidnapped by an opposing army, if she remembered correctly their color name was the Grey Army.

She doesn't remember much from the incident, however, one thing did stay with her. Someone was taking care of her when she was half conscious. She could remeber hearing her uncles's worried voices talking to someone holding her in their arms.

~Flashback~

"Tika!"

"--m!"

Tika eyes were closed shut and her hearing was fuzzing at the time. She could feel the wind blowing through her hair in waves as someone carried her in their arms, bridal style, close to their body.

"She's fine. ----- worry, she ---- has m-nor injuries."

Then she felt herself being passed into a familiar set of arms of her Uncle Matt. The mysterious set of arms let go of her but she felt the need to hug the person who saved her tightly. Yet her heavy limbs would not move.

"——, how did you know this happened?"

"The —— Army—— ——— ——— tabs on them. - ——— —— soon as I heard."

'Ah, whose's voice is that?' She wonders to herself. Tika wasn't able to distinguish if it was a male or female. The words became even more fuzzy in her ears unless someone spoke close to her ears.

Soft lips were pressed on her forhead for a moment before retreating back slightly.

"Thank Jehova your safe Tika."

~End of Flashback~

After that, Tika couldn't remember anything. She assumed she couldn't keep herself awake any longer at the time and passed out.

"It's been three years since that day... How come you won't tell me who saved me?" She asks giving them an angry look when it actually looks like she's pouting at them.

Matt looks over to Edd, "Maybe we should tell her."

Edd looks hesistant but nod in agreement. It has been three year, Tika deserves to know who saved her that day. The two Rebellion leaders were afraid during the time that Tika would try and run out of the base to look for their friend. "Alright Tika, we'll tell you okay. Just don't ask too many questions in return, alright?"

The teen nods in agreement and listens closely.

"The day you were left the base on your own and was kidnapped by the Grey Army happened to worry the most protective person we know." Edd starts off. "Which happens to be your mother."

"My Mom..." Tika adopted a look of surprise.

Matt nods and continues on for his boyfriend. "Edd and I were going to inform your mother of your disapperance, but she seemed to have found out before we could even tell her. During that time, your mother had been keeping watch of the army who kidnapped you for awhile. Her soldiers found out of your capture there, quickly informing your mother of the dire situation."

It was a common thing between Edd and Matt to refer to their friend as a she. This was due to the scientists teaching her the human anatomy. Tika only knows that females can give birth to children, certainly not males.

"Your mother and a couple of her soldiers came to your aid to destroy the army's base single handedly." Edd remembers in amazement when he saw his friend sharpshoot a few enemy soldiers. Bloody scene sure, yet still amazing how his friend's battle skills seem to have upgraded in the last few years.

Eduardo rolls his eyes as he recalls the event, "Don't forget we had to deal with the after math. It was not fun to clean up all the rubble they made."

Mark chuckles and gestures his hand over to Seth, "And how do you think we got Seth for you in the first place? He's basically your guard dog from your mother... and partially from your father."

Matt chuckles too, "'Partially' meaning your father doesn't know your mother took Seth out of the place he created him." He pushes his bowl of salad to the side when he's done while Mark helps stack up his paperwork into neat piles.

Tika lets a frustrated groan. " I can't believe this. I missed the chance to see my mom."

"Don't worry dear, I'm sure you'll meet them when the time is right."

The teenager shrugs her shoulders, "I guess..." She looks down at wood of the table thinking to herself.

'Dear Mother, I can't believe I missed the chance to meet you in person.'

~Meanwhile~

"Is there still no sign of that dog?" Tord asks Tom as they go over today's paperwork in his office.

The brunet replies with a shake of his head, "No sightings of your experiment as of yet since he disappeared three years ago." Tom looks up from his papers with a questionable expression. "Why did you make a large looking wolf dog anyways?"

"I thought the kids could have a pet to keep around while it keeps them safe too. I messed with it's genetics to let the dog grow larger than the average size as well." The Leader in red explains as he places his final piece of work on a stack of papers.

Tom hums thinking about the decision he made in giving the mutant dog to Tika. It wasn't a bad idea now since Tord had made the dog for the kids anyways. The dog had taken a strong liking to him after he got the animal out of the cage he was kept in. Willingly following Tom to help destroy the Grey Army Base before giving his daughter back to his friends along with the animal companion for her. On the plus side, a hybrid of a wolf and German Shepard makes a great guard dog.

"Mom!" Tomi exclaims as he comes running into Tord's office. Not to their surprise that the use to be young looking demon is now the size of a teenager.

He now wears a black tank top, over it a baby blue sweater that shows off his neck to his shoulders. His bottoms are grey shorts and black sneakers. Hanging around his neck proudly is his necklace from his mother.

He has a pout on his face when he comes over to stand in front of his parents. "Tormy won't accept my parfait!"

Torm comes following into the room with his usual unamused look with his arms crossed over his chest. "I refuse to eat his parfait because he didn't have any desserts yet."

Unlike Tomi, he sported a black shirt with checkered sleeves connecting to a white dress shirt underneath. Like his brother, Torm's necklace color stand out in in front of his shirt. His bottoms are the normal black pants like his shoes.

Over years, Tord decided the kids should grow up in their age for the future ahead of them. After all it's not like Tom and him were getting any younger. So being an inventer and intelligent person that he is, the Red leader created a serum to inject into their blood stream. Their growth would stop when they reach somewhere in their 20s. Torm would stop growing when he reaches 24 or 25 while Tomi will stop at 19 or 20.

Tord raised his hand up to stop his two sons from their verbal fighting. The monsters teens instantly pause their next words. "I want Torm to explain the issue please."

The older monster sighs, "Tomi and I were just eating lunch when Sadie came over with two small glass cups of strawberry parfaits."

"It looks so pretty! The strawberries look fresh too!" Tomi adds happily with a smile. Almost forgetting why they were here in the first place.

"I ate my parfait first and finished it early since Tomi was still eating his breakfast a little more slowly than usual. I was waiting for him to finish eating as always." He turns his head to look at his younger brother with a narrowed glare. "Then Tomi suddenly asks me to eat his dessert when he obviously hasn't taken one bit out of it yet. I am not going to eat his dessert since he should definitely eat it." His tone becoming harsh as his expression shows his parents irritation. He will not eat his brother's sweets if he didn't eat any yet.

This time it was Tom's turn to raise his hand to stop him from speaking any further. "I'd like to hear Tomi's side to this argument."

Tomi tears his gaze away from his brother and to his mother with a soft look. "I know how much Tormy loves parfaits," Emphasizing 'love' by raising his arms to the ceiling, "especially strawberry ones. So I wanted to give mine to him. Tormy looked like he wanted it much more than I did."

Tord pinches the bridge of his nose and takes in a breath of air. "Alright then, it's simple." He gestures his hand to the two teens. "Don't eat it."

The mother of the group hits his boyfriend upside the head as he shakes his head in disappointment. "Tord, no." The leader tends to the hit part of his head while the second one handles the kids. "Okay, let's make the situation a little more satisfying for the both of you."

Tom looks to Tomi, "You can eat what you can from your parfait." He turns to look at Torm, "When Tomi doesn't want to eat the rest of his parfait anymore then you can eat the rest of it for him."

The two brother look at each other with mellowed out expressions.

"Deal?"

"Okay Mom."

"Yes Mother."

Tom smiles and gets up from his seat. He goes over to his kids and hugs them tightly. They hug him back with giggles from his youngest and a chuckles from his oldest.

Tord rests his chin on the back of his robot hand as he watches his lover and kids hug things out. It looks refreshing and no doubt made the mood in his office lighter.

His eyes glance to old and new drawings Tomi had taped on the walls. On his desk are some blue and red paper cranes from Torm. They've never dropped those childish habits from when they were younger. Although one in particular caught his eye, a pink origami flower among the paper cranes.

Tom had placed the paper flower on his desk one day saying it's a gift from someone. He made sure to check for any suspicious devices on the small thing but couldn't find any. It's just a simple piece of folded paper.

"Tord!"

The horned hair man look up from the pink paper flower. "Hm?" He notices their kids had gone away from office and possibly back to the dining hall.

"You seem to be staring off into space. Thinking of something?" Tom questions as he goes back to sitting across from Tord.

Tord pauses and thinks for a moment before deciding to ask Tom about the particular gift he got seven years ago. "About this gift Tom," He said pointing to the pink origami flower, "I never did ask who gave it to me."

He watches a his blue lover adopt a sad expression which he comes to wonder why. Why does his significant other look so said when he comes to see the flower on his desk?

"It's from someone important to you and me." Tom picks the craft up carefully and places it in the palm of his hand. "They specifically made it for you."

'Someone important to the both of us?' Tord wonders to himself. His boyfriend takes his hand and places the flower on the palm of his hand.

"You haven't met them yet but they know a few things about you." Tom says in a soft tone. "They'll meet you and the kids one day when the days become safe or when we're possibly in a dire situation." He shrugs his shoulders as he closes his eyes. "Who knows..."

Tord could only stare at his boyfriend confused.

"Until then, we'll be waiting here."
