Chapter 9 :" The Night before the Wedding"

"Good Night, Can't wait to Marry you  " Vihaan Message popped in her phone and Lavanya couldn't help but smile at the adorable picture of him taken beside Akash who had seemed mostly drunk, Akash plan of bachelor party Lavanya surmised but she didn't feel the same nervousness as any other bride when they heard the word Bachelor party, because it was Vihaan. And she trusts him more than her life. It was just 10;30 PM and she was glad the party was over soon for them as well

Her bachelor party had a curfew of 8 PM as Gauri needed to be home early for her son to sleep, Lavanya heard from Gauri that Arnav , her cousin was one of the guests of Vihaan party which made her happy as well , she knew the party included her brother Yuv and her cousin Yash. While hers included Meera, Vihaan's sister, Divya di,  Kavya and Gauri.

Lavanya liked spending time with them, most of the time it had been Divya di who had regaled them with the story of her marriage and how she met Rajeev bhai. While Gauri remained silent mostly, even though she was the only other married ones among the group, the topic of Gauri's first marriage as always remained out of normal conversation.

Lavanya might be curious about her friend's silence but she understood that she had no right to pry into it, also because she knew whatever it was that Arnav bhai seemed to know about it and that was all that mattered because even now Lavanya had been secretly hoping those two could work it out.

But the silence of Vihaan's sister worried her , Lavanya Rathore had always reminded her of Gauri, silent but lovely and yet throughout the party she looked sad almost that she had decided to tell Vihaan about it later but forgot it , he had been worried about his sister as well

Lavanya had tried to sleep but it eluded her, she know it wasn't wedding nervousness, she knew Vihaan and loved him, was excited about the start of their life but it also felt like a bidding Good bye to being Lavanya Sanskar Maheshwari, a name she loved from the day her parents adopted her .

Lavanya stepped outside her room and walked to the garden hoping some fresh air will calm her nervousness  and found her parents sitting in the garden bench awake as well, they had been so supportive and happy that she never realized it was such a big change for them too.

"Couldn't sleep Princess? " her father asked her and she only nodded her head in answer as she rushed to sit in between both of them and burst into tears, she was a grown up and never really cried that often yet today felt like a good day to cry.

Lavnaya's mother held her still she cried enough and once she felt like there would be no more tears, she smiled at them as if trying to assure them that she was fine now.

" Feeling better ? her mother asked Lavanya and she nodded her head in answer. For the next one hour, she sat beside her parents and listened to them talk, no one spoke of the wedding tomorrow, or why they have been wide awake until now. They needed the one hour of time together.

Lavanya was moving right across the street after her marriage, she knew Vihaan thinks of her family as his family and the marriage won't separate her from her parents, yet she wanted to spend the last night of being Lavanya Sanskar Maheshwari with her parents. Her name may change tomorrow but her right to being their daughter will never change .

"Good Night papa, mama and I love you both so very much " Lavanya spoke up as she kissed each of their cheeks in a good night wish before walking away from the garden leaving them once she felt sleepy enough. And this time, she drifted off to sleep as soon as her head hit the pillow leaving only pleasant dreams on its wake

                                   ***********************************************

"You are not going to start crying now ,are you Shona ?" her husband asked her but Swara knew he was the one most likely to cry then her.

His Princess is getting married tomorrow and Sanskar Maheshwari may have been smiling a lot but as his wife, she knew as any father he was sad too. Marriage should bring only joy and both of them knew there is no one more perfect for their daughter than Vihaan. Yet as her parents, she was still the six year old to them and it felt like a big change

" No Sanskar, because who will console you if I started to cry ?" Swara asked instead making him smile, she knew they both won't be able to sleep easily that night, hence she asked him to stay with her in the garden for awhile after their kids went to sleep or so she assumed until Lavanya proved to them , that their daughter feels the change as well

" I had cried the entire night before I married Siddharth too, not out happiness because I knew I was making a mistake, growing up without a father and the tag of being Illegitimate made me think, I was making the right choice for my unborn child, but I knew Sanskar, deep down that I won't be happy in the Marriage.

I had cried the night before we got married too, not out sadness, but quite the opposite about how happy I felt to have you and Lavanya in my life, it may be due to the fact I was pregnant with Yuv as well, we were already legally married, there was nothing more to the wedding than the renewals of our vows ,but for a life time this time , yet I felt like a bride and got teary eyed the night.

So what your princess is going though is just the same, both of you know that the marriage will only make her happy which in turn would make you happy. Yet it is quite okay to feel bit sad about the change too " Swara spoke up trying to reassure her husband that he could confide in her.

" I will Miss her " was all he said and Swara understood the sentiment behind it, because for Sanskar Maheshwari , his daughter was his entire world at times. He was a lovely father to Yuv as well but the bond between those two would always be different, a fact Swara had worried Vihaan wouldn't understand when she met him for the first time

But after all this years of knowing Vihaan, she may as well admit she felt such a bond with him too. Vihaan was like a son to her as well,  Vihaan had never really had a parent's love and she knew he thought of them as his family. And Swara knew how lucky she was that their daughter found a man like him.

" How different out life would have been if you said No to my first marriage proposal ?" Sanskar asked her and Shona only laughed at the way her husband mind seemed to have wandered way back in to the past.

They talked some more about the past beautiful memories, Swara knew saying yes to Sanskar marriage proposal changed her life, being married to him made her immensely happy, there were tough times of course but at the end of the day sharing her life with the man beside her was worth everything.

And as Lavanya's mother, that was what she wanted for her daughter as well, to have such a blissful life with Vihaan and her future grandkids that looking back at her past years later, her daughter would feel happy like Swara does now.

                         ********************************************

"Good Night, Can't wait to Marry you ", Vihaan sent the text but his mind was worried about what Akash said earlier, his friend had learnt that Vihaan had cancelled his honeymoon trip because he knew Lavanya wanted to be around Dida surgery. And the only advise Akash said was that no bride wants to learn about her cancelled honeymoon on her wedding day.

Vihaan knew his Angel and knew she will understand his decision, yet he had been worried too. That she may be disappointed with him for hiding Dida surgery and for not telling her about the honeymoon trip cancellation earlier.

Also he was worried about Dida too, she looked fragile when he visited her earlier that day and he had been concerned enough as it was about her health it only added to it, and then was this irrational fear that he won't make a good husband

No matter how many times, his Angel had reassured him, at times he felt little scared and concerned that he will end up disappointing her . And tomorrow their life will be joined together in a marriage and he was happy, but also anxious.

Vihaan didn't grew up in an family atmosphere , he had only found his family through his sister's and his Angel. He always feared that one day he would be found lacking , it had nothing to do with anyone else except his insecurities and Vihaan had thought it was a thing of the past until this moment when he realized he had just buried them well enough but not removed  them from his mind

"Couldn't sleep ?" a voice asked him as he turned to find Rajeev bhai standing inside his room. While Vihaan had moved into the house he brought for his Angel soon after they got engaged, Rajeev bhai insisted he stay the night with them at his house. This was one of his house but it became like a second home to them, as they were always part of every important moment in Vihaan's life, that he had a room of his own .

" The lights were on, so decided to check " Rajeev bhai spoke up at his continued silence.

" I am scared " Vihaan admitted and soon he was telling Rajeev bhai, how worried he was that he may end up disappointing his Angel.

" I was scared too Vihaan, when I married Divya and I felt inadequate to when I couldn't give her the one thing she wanted the most,  a child of her own. Marriage is like that if you were too sure then it means you don't care enough, what you feel at this moment is because you love Lavanya and she means everything to you.

And also you raised Anjali, our daughter all on your own , so you don't need to be worried about being a father . What I mean to say is feeling this scared only makes you human and don't worry too much but if you are looking for some sort of reassurance, then let me tell you that you got nothing to be scared about Vihaan, because there is no one else more ready for it than you . Otherwise you wouldn't have been able to get past Sanskar and marry his daughter. " Rajeev bhai answered back with a smile

And Vihaan had to smile back at those words because it was the truth, he knew his Angel's family and his Angel's father , while they may be kindness personified  , Vihaan knew they trusted  him with their daughter. And Vihaan trusted their opinion, if they found him good enough for his Angel , he wasn't going to second guess his worthiness either.

Vihaan knew what it was to live without family.  What it was to never really had anyone to love him , now that he had all of it in his life. He knew he would never take it for granted either .

And he also knew Dida was Angel's family and she would never be disappointed by Vihaan decision to postpone their honeymoon and she would understand why he kept it as a secret as well.

Tomorrow, he was going to marry the one person who ruled his heart and Vihaan had been finally able to feel like he was up for the married life as he drifted off to sleep that night .

When he woke up the next day , a single message from his Angel was waiting for him in his phone.  His face lit up with a smile as he read the message ,his wife to be left him.

" Time to wake up Vihaan, I can't wait to marry you either " .

P.S :" That it for now . Let me know your thoughts and feedbacks . Hit the votes if you liked it "
