Dear, Andrew

The next day I saw you. You came before me, like you said. A woman was in front of you, laughing. With a frown I sat down elsewhere, on the complete opposite side. I thought I was so stupid to believe this was my cute love story.

An hour later, I got up to get more coffee. The woman was still in front of you. Your eyes drifted to me but I kept my gaze down.

You didn't come over today. I jumped up at your voice. Your hand touched my lower back and your mouth was near my ear. I found it a little strange as you had been so shy for the last two days.

After you cleared up saying that was your friend's wife, you invited me over to your booth. She was gone that time, her bottle of water left behind. You told me you were craving mashed potatoes and I said and?

Drew... I didn't answer what you said. You laughed and told me your name was Andrew. I told you mine was Spencer.

I'm not particularly proud of what I did that night. Never in my life have I just met someone and slept with them. But we did. We went out for drinks, dinner and then ended up at my place, in bed with our clothes off. I never regretted it. I never will.

You held me that night, running your hands down my arms while whispering in my ear. God knows why we were whispering because we were the only ones in the flat. I fell asleep before you and when I woke up your were gone.

You left a note though. Left your number, saying you called yourself through the landline and would call me after your lecture. I messaged you, told you to come back to my place after and we would carry on where we left off last night.

And you did. Even brought some clothes with you. We actually didn't do anything that night- maybe during midday but I remember that night. We both sat on the dining table, each at one end. You were typing away and I was marking work again. You called me over and sat me on your lap as we both went through your dissertation, making the corrections. Then we just went to sleep.
