Chapter 5
Yugo sat taking deep breathes for a few minutes, Amalia and Adamai were nearby, worried. "What was it this time?" Adamai asked
"It was, different this time." Yugo said quietly. "Neither Qilby or Nox were there. It was just Oropo. He..." Yugo buried his face in his hands "This is so stupid." He grumbled "Why am I having these nightmares now? We defeated Nox and Qilby years ago." He grumbled a bit "Honestly it would have made more sense if I'd had these nightmares years ago."
Amalia scooted over to Yugo. "You said when we defeated Oropo that when he was in your head he made you fight them right?" Amalia asked "That's probably what's causing the nightmares, you said as you fought them, they blamed you. Do you...... Feel any guilt about stopping Nox, or locking Qilby away in the White Dimension?"
Yugo took a breath, he was crying a bit still. "When we fought Nox," Yugo began "He was trying to go back in time to save his family from a flood." Yugo spoke quietly "He told me that he'd spent two-hundred years trying to get them back, and claimed that the eliacube told him it could take him back in time." He used the palm of his hand to wipe away a few tears. "And Qilby, he, started a war over two-thousand years ago, because he got tired of the Eliatrope planet, and then did the same after a while here, and he only did so because while he could leave at any point in time, he didn't want to be alone, and now he's locked away, alone in the White Dimension." He wiped away some more tears. "I... I guess I had tried to ignore it, but Oropo pointing it out, and using it against me I guess.... I guess it was too much and now I can't stop thinking about it?"
Amalia hugged Yugo. "Yugo, you did what had to be done." Amalia pointed out. "Both of them would have destroyed the world, you saved people. Everyone on the planet."
"We could've found a way to save Nox, helped him regain his sanity."
"Yugo, he was way too far gone." Amalia spoke as she hugged Yugo. "Besides, if he'd been doing all that for two-hundred years, then the eliacube is most likely what was keeping him alive." Adamai snuck away as Yugo and Amalia sat there hugging. Yugo cried quietly for a while before the hug ended. "Yugo," Amalia started
"Yeah?"
"None of that is your fault, okay? You need to stop blaming yourself."
"I can't stop thinking it's my fault though."
"It's not, okay? It's not your fault, it's never been your fault and can't stand the thought of you thinking it's your fault."
"It was my fault Oropo existed in the first place."
"Yugo, that's a different story."
"No it's not," Yugo stood up and started pacing "I used the dofus to fight Ogrest, and in the process created an entire race on accident and then the last of that race tried to kill the gods because I didn't even know they existed, and that's all my fault."
Amalia grabbed Yugo as he walked near the couch they'd been sitting on, and hugged him. "What matters is that he was stopped." She said quietly, "And that everyone is alright, I'm alive. You're alive. Adamai's alive. Eva's alive. Dally's alive. Elely's alive. Flopin's alive. All the demigods we saved, they're alive. The gods, are alive. Because we stopped Oropo."
"Echo's not alive."
"She... She saved us Yugo, and she wanted to stay with Oropo. That was her choice, okay?"
Yugo sniffled a little, "O... Okay." He mumbled as he hugged Amalia.
