Dear A,

Hey. How's it going? I haven't written to you in like a week, I guess. I was getting pretty hyped up these past few days. Practices really excite me for the competition, and it's motivating me really well. By the way, I joined the school orchestra. Isn't that great? I started playing the violin, remember? In all honesty, I can say I've improved immensely in these past few months. I'm not a pro yet, but at least I can play the instrument decently now.

          The violin is absolutely a wonderful and romantic instrument. I love it. Ever since I was a child I had set my interest on the violin since the time I first saw it. Now that I have the opportunity to play it I realized that I'm quite good at it. I don't mean to brag but I can say that I'm pretty quick at learning the instrument. I started with my friends teaching me then eventually had a teacher, but most of my learning were self-taught. I find the violin a lot easier to learn and play than the guitar, which is actually my first instrument. Maybe it's because my father used to play the violin when he was a child. He plays the guitar too, so that's where I probably got my love for music. Runs in the family, maybe?

          I know that you play some instruments too. The guitar is your main obviously, and I've seen you play the drums lotsa times at church. I'm not sure if you play the keyboard, but I've seen a few photos of you playing it. Your brothers play the same instruments too. It's amazing that you're a musically-inclined family. I mean, you guys can also sing! I've heard you sing, and your voice is one that I'll never forget. I love hearing you sing actually, but I love it more when I'm able to sing with you.

          We actually did sing together. We sang at school. It was a duet, remember? You insisted me to sing with you and although I was really shy at that time I'm glad that I was able to do it. It was kinda funny though. We only practiced a few times. Probably two or three, and that was only on the day before our performance. I was really nervous about it, but we actually pulled it off. That was my first performance at school, and I actually did well. My friends complimented me after, and there was a bit of teasing too. Also from the teachers and other staff members. They all gave good comments, and that really boosted my confidence. Well, it was actually you who boosted my confidence.

          If it wasn't for you, maybe I wouldn't have showed my talent at school. They wouldn't have discovered me.

          And that's what I like about you. Well, other than our same interest in music, I also like the way you motivate me. I don't know exactly how you do it, but you inspire me. A lot. And I'm grateful for that.

          I'm grateful to have you as my inspiration and motivation. I'm grateful to have you as someone who I can look up to. I'm grateful to have you in my life. Basically I'm just really grateful and blessed to have you.
