Forty-seven: Molotov and code breaker
Jackson starts the car and drives away. Little did we know we were driving towards school, not the woods?
"What the hell? Scott's life is in danger, there's not time to learn something new, Jackson!" I scream mad. I can't believe him.
"Look, if we're going to confront them, we need something to defend ourselves with," Jackson says, getting out. Stiles follows him, helping me get out as well.
There are still people in the formal and I so wish I could have attended.
We go straight to the chemistry classroom and surprisingly, Jackson remembers everything to do that self-igniting cocktail.
"Don't forget about the sulphuric acid," he warns me.
"Why don't you just do it yourself?" I ask, kind of annoyed that he got all bossy.
"I don't recognize any of this, okay?" he says pissed. Why is he pissed?
I roll my eyes, taking everything he told me to.
I'm not good at chemistry at all, I just hope I don't make the school explode. "Don't stand in there, Jackson, go see if someone's coming or something."
He didn't complain and followed my instruction, which gave me some kind of a private moment with Stiles.
I don't say anything at first, scared of what he may think. I just start mixing the ingredients, wondering how in hell I'm going to make this to ignite.
"My dad," I start, my eyes on the liquids before me. "Peter attacked him, that's why I ditched."
He lets go a sigh of relief and I look in his eyes, trying to find the meaning behind that reaction. He coughs a little before answering.
"I thought you were going to break up with me or something," he admits. "I panicked when I didn't find you there, Emma. Don't you ever do that to me again, you hear me? Never."
"I won't, I'm sorry!" I cry, finishing one of the cocktails, immediately repeating the process. "I was angry, I let that take over me."
"You'll have your winter formal, I promise you," he looks at me with sad eyes. "I promise you."
I just smile at him because he's being a dream right now and I wish I could be in bed, having him wrapped around me as we fall asleep, away from this living nightmare that has human form some times and it calls itself Peter Hale.
"Someone's coming!" Jackson warns us. "Are you done there?"
"Yes, turn the lights off!" he does it and shuts the door; we hide under the tables while Jackson stands close to the door.
We hear footsteps in front of it, not even bothering to look inside. Maybe is Coach, bored of being with a bunch of hormonal teenagers.
Being in the floor of this classroom with Stiles so close to me, makes me remember that night at school, when we were clueless about how we were going to survive, adding Allison acting like a scared little girl. I remember the panic attack, I remember losing control, how weak I felt, knowing that my best friend was out defenceless and how no one in the room was willing to help.
At least Jackson is helping us now, but just because he wants to be part of our night adventures. God, I don't even remember the last time I went to bed at a decent hour.
If only my dad knew what I do when he thinks I'm asleep.
Once we make sure that no one is around, we get out of the classroom, rushing to Jackson's car. How much time did we lose? Is Scott still alive? Is Derek alive? What was Mr Argent up to when he let us go?
Is Kate Argent going to kill someone else tonight? End what she started?
She thought she killed all of the Hale's family but that's not true. Peter and Derek are still alive and maybe she doesn't like that. Why would she hate Derek's family so much? I know they aren't the kindest neighbours but come on; they used to live in the middle of the woods for a reason, right?
I take Jackson's keys once again and this time I sit in the driver's seat, Stiles taking the passenger one.
This car is amazing, it's super soft, although it isn't Stiles' jeep. I've grown so fond of that jeep, you have no idea.
"Hey, can you be more careful? This isn't your cheap jeep, you know," Jackson complains from the tiny backseats.
"Did you pay for it?" I ask, not taking my eyes off the road.
Jackson takes a while to answer but finally says, "no."
"Then shut up," I order, going even faster. I'm in love with this car.
I drive through the now familiar woods, wondering how many female classmates have even come down here. I guess that no many of them had ever walked close to this part of the city, let alone know the paths and ways by heart like I do.
I know this woods really well, a lot more than I should. Within minutes we make it to the Hale's burnt house, in which happens to be a lot of action.
I'm really confused, but it doesn't take long until I realize that the Alpha does no longer want Scott in his pack, or that's what I deduce since he's trying to kill the young Beta.
I see Allison and his father standing at the other side of the scene and I wonder where Kate Argent is.
I don't see Derek either.
And little did I know that Stiles', Jackson's and mine own following actions were going to lead to the end of yet the scariest episode me and my friends have gone through the past few months.
