-The Next Day-

I woke up feeling down in a way. Ever since Sunset Shimmer told me about how Rainbow reacted, I was doing my best to keep it from the rest of my friends, especially Rainbow Dash. Trixie changed thanks to Starlight Glimmer in this world. But as far as we know, Starlight Glimmer of the other world doesn't know the other girls so she wouldn't be there to change Trixie.

I did my normal morning routine before going to the dining hall where, to my surprise, saw all of the girls waiting for me. All of them. Applejack, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, Rarity, Starlight Glimmer, Spike, Trixie, and Rainbow Dash. “Um… what are you all doing here?” I asked in the kindest way possible.

“I think you know why.” Spike told me. “Ever since you went to visit your friends in the other world you've been acting different and we want to know why.”

“Yeah.” Rainbow Dash agreed, “And it seems to happen even more when I'm around. What the hay is going on Twi!”

I froze looking at all their sirius faces and I knew I wouldn't leave the room unless they get an answer. “If I told you, you wouldn't believe me.”

“Yes we will darling. Just let us know what's bothering you.” Rarity sounded so sincere but I knew she wouldn't understand.

“Girls. I'm serious. If I tell you then you'll think I'm crazy and ask how it's possible. It's probably better you don't know.”

Starlight then used her magic to bring me closer then looked me straight in the eye. “Listen Twilight. We're all worried about you and we want to help you. So tell us what's wrong or I'm gonna use a memory spell I made to get some answers.”

I knew I was stuck. I couldn't run and if I didn't tell them, The spell would reveal everything. I was stuck between in a rock and a hard place. I clearly only had one choice. “Fine. But it might be better if Trixie doesn't know.” what can I say? She'll freak if she finds out that the alternate version of herself was the main cause of it.

Trixie growled for a moment but after some persuasion, she agreed to step out as long as Starlight told her anything she felt she needed to know.

They put me on my throne and they all sat on theirs. Starlight was on the side of me that Spike wasn't. “Now please explain what in Tarnation is wrong Twilight.”

I took a deep breath as I tried to find a good way to explain it. I felt that if the rest of the girls knew than Rainbow should to, but I hoped her reaction wouldn't be heard by all of ponyville.

“Well. You see. Spike knows this already but. Sunset wrote me saying she really needed to talk in person. So since I was pretty bored anyway I went over only to find out something really shocking about the Rainbow Dash in the other world.”

They all gasped and Rainbow put her front hooves on the table, “What is it!?”

I took a shaky deep breath before attempting to tell them during every 2 second pause Rainbow spoke.

“Well, she…”

“What is it?”

“It turns out that…”

“Come on.”

“Well what I'm trying to say is…”

“You're scaring me Twi.”

“She's depressed.”

They were all silent before Rainbow burst out laughing. “Ok. Siriously. What's going on?”

“I'm telling the truth. Believe me, I'd never joke with something like this. That's why I wanted Trixie to leave because she's one of the main reasons she is in that world.”

They were silent for a moment till Starlight spoke up, “If you told us this than we believe you. But I guess we just need some proof. Cause this is a really serious thing.”

I tried to be nice but they were getting on my nerves. “Well I'm sure you can make some sort of spell for that proof you want. Cause Sunset told me that she saw the scars on her arms and I trust her. But if you want to figure something out then go ahead.”

“Well, if I can just use the memory spell and somehow link it to the other Rainbow Dash then… That's it!”

She teleported somewhere then came back with some books quickly flipping through them. “If I combine the memory spell with some magic from the portal as well as a health spell doctors use to know exactly what happened, and get Rainbows DNA, then we can look into her past and see her go through the stages she's been through. And it can help us know what we can do to help her get back to normal!”

Her horn lit up and she pulled a single hair out of Rainbows tail then zapped the portal borrowing some of it's magic. Then she did a spell on the hair and a portal like thing opened up showing green words on a black background that said, “2 years ago. She stared the path of depression. She started singing this to voice her pain. But it slowly changed as she continued on.”

The thing changed showing a 9th grade Rainbow sitting worn out of her bed. I'm sure that the other world has a word for something like this. A movie?

The freshman Rainbow got off her bed and drank a cup of water in a bathroom then put it upside down on the counter. She played with it for a while till she started doing a beat with it that included clapping, hitting the counter, and moving it in a strange way that made a strange beat. (A/N Cup song beat)

Then, like the words said, she started to sing.

“I've got a ticket for the long way round
Two bottles of cider for the way
Though the thought of my friend

I am used to all the bullying anyway

The thing went back to words, the cup beat still going in the background, saying, “A year later she started cutting her arms and only eat every once in a while. This is what her song became.”

Then it showed, still Rainbow Dash, but older. More similar to what she looked like when I went to the other world for the first time.

“I've got a ticket for the long way round
Though I wonder why I am holding on
Trixie isn't giving up
I really hate my luck
But my best friends are still there

The words said, “After the bullying continued, she started to see no purpose to her existence. So she began to imagine death, but never could do it. Eating anything at all was very very rare and she became weak and pale, color leaving her eyes.”

“Why do I have a it for the long way round
I don't deserve to be on earth

I know my Loyalty will fly

I have been useless since my birth

The spell stoped and I looked at the girls. “Now do you believe me?”

It was silent till Applejack spoke, “Ah guess I never thought that someone like RD would think anything but positive about herself. Guess enough effort and anyone will give up their ticket for the good old long way round.”

“What is the long way round?” Spike asked.

Applejack spoke up again, “The long way round is a way of saying life. I'm pretty sure that the other me taught this Rainbow Dash that. So when she said that she wasn't sure why she had a ticket for the long way round, she's basically saying ‘Why am ah alive?’ in code. This is a serious thing.”

Rainbow Dash suddenly stood and shouted, “Ok. This needs to be taken care of. Cause if she dies, she won't be there for that worlds Scootaloo, or to fight any magic threats that come up. So our worlds will be launched into chaos. And if she dies, what'll happen to me?”

I thought about it for a moment then answered, “Well, if she dies, then the forces of the two worlds will try to restore the harmony the best they can. So it will probably mean that…” I stopped not wanting to voice the possibility. But they understood.

“I don't wanna die!”

“How will we use the magic of friendship against the other villans.”

“But she finally achieved her dream as a Wonderbolt! That will be one short lived dream.”

“But she's our best friend! We have to do something!”

Finally, I had enough. “Stop! All of you. I get that this was a shock. It was for me when I found out to! But saying how much we don't believe it or how much chaos there will be if she commits suicide won't fix it. Now that you know what's going on, please give me an idea of what we can do to help her!”

I slammed my head on the table in front of me as I finished yelling and the room went silent. It felt like hours of just looking at the table to avoid eye contact. The silence was almost unbearable, but I didn't know how to break it.

Then Pinkie said something. I supposed it was to break the silence, “What does hard knock life mean? She said it in the last virse.”

“I means her life sucks.” Rainbow explained simply. She was clearly not in the mood for anything right then.

Another long time of silence passed before a flipping of pages was heard from Starlight. “Hey Twilight, you remember Snowfall Frost in the night before hearth's warming story you read to me?”

 “Of course I do. How will that fix this?”

“Well, if we can somehow make a spell that can make Rainbow in that world be visited by those ghosts, and what will happen if she's gone before she's supposed to be, mabie it can help her see how important she really is.”

“I see where you're coming from Starlight. But that's really risky. If we do one even tiny thing wrong then she'll do it for sure. Everything will need to be perfect. And if even if we do succeed in helping her with that it'll only do a little to help and she'll go back to this Suicidal state she's in right now. Succeeding will only slow down the process and even a slight failure will give us no more time at all! I don't want to take any risks with something as serious as this.”

A few more moments of silence passed till she spoke up again. “Then we'll need to make it foolproof then triple check everything maybe even trying it on one of us. We'll perfect this spell and test it and if she still needs help, we'll do it. In the meantime we can also find some other way to help her more. The spell can buy us time, and right now, that's what we need most. What do you say.”

I thought about it. “Ok. But if we can't get it right, then we won't cast it. And only then will do it only if we're running out of time I can't risk anything with the fate of not just Equestria, but a whole nother world at risk.”

She put a hoof on my shoulder, “Don't worry. I don't want to risk anything either. But we should find another way to help just in case. Like you said. 2 whole worlds are at risk.”

We continued to try and come up with ideas but each one wouldn't seem to work. So we all decided to sleep on it and come back tomorrow with some ideas and hope we could do something before she did anything to herself more than she already did.
