After Dinner Chaos Part 2
-Soarin Skys POV-
-Awhile before-
I ran calling Rainbows name but she didn't even spare a glance. “Man this girl is fast.” I said as I struggled to keep up.
She continued to get farther away from me but I didn't stop running. After she disappeared from my view, I relied on my ears to hear her sobs. Then I heard a whimper of pain and I slowed carefully following the sound.
I eventually found her crying in an alleyway and I saw blood all over her clothes. The whimper must have been when she cut herself. I had a flashback to when I was in this state.
-Flashback Start-
I had recently lost my mother as my career as a model kicked off. I had been mistreated by lots of kids at school and now that my mother was gone, the pain was doubled. Cuts were all over my arms and I was making more. I felt so alone. All I wanted was for someone to give a hug and tell me everything was ok.
-Flashback End-
I looked at the crying girl right in front of me and did the only thing that I saw fit in this situation. I hugged her.
I felt her arms wrap around me and I continued to hug her rubbing her back in circles. I wanted to say something but felt that it was best to stay silent for now.
I felt her tears soaking into my jacket and I knew that I'd need to explain the blood to my father later. But all that mattered now was my Rainbow. My Dashie. My Princess.
After quite a while she looked at me with her foggy eyes and I saw years worth of pain behind them. She went back to crying and I hugged her tighter knowing she needed it.
Another good amount of time passed till she looked at me again. “Why.” was all she said. That one word asked a lot of questions. Like, why do you care? Why are you hugging me? Why did you run after me?
I found a good answer for all of them in one sentence. “Because… I used to be the same way as you.”
I saw confusion written all over her face but I knew that now was not the time to explain. “Come on. We should get you home. Big day tomorrow. And you won't want to be late and give her a reason to hate on you.”
She nodded slowly and I helped her up. I looked at the time, “It's 10:30. What time do you need to be home?”
“Eleven. My house shouldn't be too far from here. I'll show you the way.”
I nodded and helped her stay upright. She was exhausted from all the crying and I was willing to help her. She pulled her sleeves back over the cuts and I didn't mind. If she wanted to hide it, I won't force her to tell anyone.
We reached her home at 5 after 11 and I knocked on the door for her. A oranged haired girl with that same shade of blue skin as Rainbow opened the door, I supposed she was Rainbows mother.
At first she seemed angry but then she saw her daughter that looked, and was, really weak, and was covered in blood and worry took over. “Oh my sweet Rainbow! What happened to her!?”
I was thinking about how to explain the weak look and blood all over us the whole way over here and found one that seemed reasonable, it started with truth, but then came the lie. “I was doing a photoshoot in the park and the photographer asked her to pose with me. She joined us for dinner and then I started to walk her home. That's when she got attacked by some jealous fangirls. I was able to get them away but not before they did some damage. Can I bring her in?”
“Of course Mr. Skys. I'll get my husband. Just set her on the couch.” I didn't bother to think of how she knew my name because I figured I knew the answer.
“Thank you.”
I brought her to the couch and set her down in a sitting position. Her mother came back soon, shortly followed by a Rainbow haired and purple skinned man carrying a big bundle of bandages.
I let them clean wrap the self inflicted wounds as I watched her worried. Was she really that desperate that she would inflict harm on herself in public? Was she more than depressed? Should I tell someone?
Rainbow was asleep by the time they finished so I helped them put her to bed. I was about to leave but Rainbows dad stopped me, “Mr. Skys. If you'd please, can you stay and talk for a bit? We have some questions.”
“Alright.”
I sat on one of the couches and her parents sat across from me. Her mom started, “First off, Thank you so much for bringing her home.”
“No problem. It's the least I could do after helping me with that photoshoot. She's a natural. With the looks and skill.”
Her dad nodded, “Again, thank you. But if you don't mind saying, how did she be in the photo shoot?”
“She was in the park that I was doing the shoot in. But by then, I was doing it for a long time and the photographer said that I needed more energy, more romance. That I needed a girl. And Rainbow happened to be sitting nearby.”
Her mom laughed, “We always thought that she would do photo shoots. We just didn't know that it would be with such a famous person.”
“Speaking of, how come she didn't know who I am when we met? You two obviously do and she has a fashionista as a best friend so why does she not know?”
Her mom sighed, “She has always been a sports girl and whenever fashion is mentioned she usually zones out or leaves. So we just stopped trying to get her to listen. When did you meet? At the park?”
“No actually. Tomorrows my first day at Canterlot High and dad wanted me to get a tour so I went over. She ran into me and I recognized her as the kind of person I'd want to hang out with and asked her to show me around the school and town. She's doing the school one tomorrow morning and the town one after school. It's my first time going to a school so it'll be nice to have someone as cool as Rainbow to hang with.”
“Glad you like her.”
“I do. And just a heads up, you may get a call, leter and/or visit from my father. He's considering making her a model and my Business Partner.”
They stared at me eyes widened and I almost laughed. Then my phone began to ring and I stepped outside for a moment since it was my dad. “Yes Father?”
“Where are you!?”
“Rainbows front porch. I wanted to make sure that she got home ok after the incident.”
“Are her parents home?”
“Ya. I was just talking to them. I stepped out when you called.”
“Well I'd like you do do me a favor. While you were gone the results of the shoot came in and all of the pictures with Rainbow in them were fantastic. I'd like you to get there phone numbers and inform them of what I want. They can ask questions when I set up an appointment to talk later this week.”
I resisted doing a shout of happiness. “Thank you Father. I'll do that.”
“I expect you back before 1:00.”
“I'll try. See you then.”
“Goodbye.”
I did a short victory dance then walked back in. “Ok. Scratch that guys, she is, going to be a model and my Business Partner. And may I add, whither you like it or not. Father wants me to get your phone numbers so he can set up an appointment to discuss it further. Any questions?”
“Don't they need to have really strict diet?”
“Yes. You'll need to make sure she doesn't eat any more, or any less, than what father tells you to give her.”
“Why not any less? If she's not hungry then why make her eat?”
I quickly made an excuse that was partially true, “The diet of a model is the bare minimum that a person should eat. If they eat any more then they'll gain weight. If they eat any less they won't be getting enough nutrition. It'll take awhile for her to adjust, but make sure she doesn't leave the table unless she eats all that you give her.”
“Of course. Here's our numbers.” her mom wrote down the two numbers and gave me the paper.
“Thanks. Now I'd better get home. I'll come by at 7:00 to answer any questions you get over the night and take Rainbow to school later. See you tomorrow.”
They nodded and I began running home. It was 11:56 so if I kept running, I should be able to get home before one. And I did. I gave father the phone numbers, set my alarm for 6:15, Made sure the blood covered clothes were soaking in soap water, and fell asleep immediately.
