Chapter 4
Deans woke up when Cas started to get up. He was half way laying on Cas' lap. "Sorry Dean I didn't mean to wake you, but I figured I should head to my room, the movie is over and you were asleep"
"Oh, heh, right, but, uh," Dean cleared his throat, "maybe we could sleep out here," It was too dark to tell, but dean blushed so hard, "I mean I know how cold it gets in those rooms, it's just that it's so much warmer out here"
Cas' face lit up,neither of them were high anymore and he knew he didn't have the guts to try something with Dean, he was scared Dean might not be into guys, not many people were these days. "Yes, okay, That is a very valid reason."
"Well uh, you wanna watch another movie?" Dean said shrugging a little.
"Of course, as long as you don't fall asleep again"
"Okay I got a good one, a scary one, so I won't fall asleep"
"What is it called, I'll put it in" Cas said bending down and opening up the movie case.
Dean watched the way cas' shirt lifted a little and showed his back, "Amityville Horror, It's one of my favorites, my dad used to have me and Sammy watch it while he was at work" Dean sat down at the end of the couch instead of laying down so Cas could sit there too.
Cas put the movie in and went to sit down, but instead he laid down and put his head on Dean's lap. Just to see what he would do, he expected Dean to have a weird reaction, but he didn't he just adjusted so Cas would be more comfortable. They watched the movie about halfway through before they both fell asleep.
Cas woke up to Dean's alarm clock ringing, he was still laying on Dean's lap, he didn't want to get up because he was so comfortable, but he had to wake Dean up or he would be late for work. He stood up and Dean woke up quickly, "Sorry to wake you up again, but your alarm has been going off."
Dean jumped up and went to look at the clock, he ran out of the kitchen, "Shit shit shit," He came back out dressed in jeans, and a t-shirt with a flannel, he grabbed his jacket and headed out the door, the door slammed behind him, but flew right back open as Dean walked in. He pulled out his cell. "Hey Bobby, yeah, I'm not gonna make it in today," There was a pause and Dean rolled his eyes. "I'm not an Idjit, I knew you were gonna be snowed in too....Okay Bobby, have a nice weekend."
Dean closed his flip phone and threw it on the couch then went to take a shower. Cas just stood there with a confused look on his face, then he shrugged and went to make breakfast.
Dean got out of the shower just in time, Cas had just put pancakes and eggs on the table. They sat down to eat, there was only two chairs at the table, across from each other. It was quiet, too quiet, all you could hear was forks scraping against the plates. Cas was racking his brain, trying to think of something to say, anything. "So", he cleared his throat, "you got the day off?"
"Hmm? Oh yeah uh I can't really go anywhere it snowed all night so uh we're kinda," Dean gestured to the window, "snowed in"
Castiel's face lit up so much he ran to the door, "I've never been in snow before", his inner child was coming out, "Do-do you think we can go out in it."
Dean looked totally shocked, "You've never been in snow before?" Cas shook his head, "Well what are you asking me for dude, go play in the snow!" Dean started laughing as Cas darted out the door with only pajama bottoms and moccasins on. He figured Cas would get cold so he went and grabbed him a jacket, then went out to enjoy the snow with him.
"Here put on at least a jacket, you don't want to get frostbite or something", he handed Cas the jacket.
"This isn't mine", Cas said questioningly, putting it on.
"Well I went to your closet, and you didn't have a jacket good enough for snow, so as soon as we can get out of here we're gonna buy you things you'll need up here." Dean smiled at Cas and zipped up the leather jacket.
"Thank you Dean", Cas blushed a little as Dean fixed the collar on the jacket, "Um Dean?"
"Mhhmm?"
"Will you help me make a snowman, I'm not sure I know how", Cas looked at the ground and wiggled his foot in the white powder.
Dean Laughed and started to make a snowball, "Here you gotta start like this, then you just kinda roll it and the snow sticks and makes it bigger", he demonstrated for Cas.
"That seems simple enough", Cas started on the middle while Dean was working on the bottom.
By the time Cas was done with the middle Dean had already started working on the top. To top it off dean went to get sticks for arms and he used rocks for eyes, Cas got a carrot from inside and a scarf. The snowman was a little crooked and the arms were uneven, but it was the best thing Cas had ever seen. He was smiling so hard it would have hurt if his face wasn't numb.
"You wanna go inside, and have coffee or hot chocolate, or something", Dean said trying to warm up his numb hands.
"Yes, but first...", Cas laid on the cold ground and moved his arms and legs up and down. Dean laughed and couldn't help but join him, together they lay on the ground, moving their arms and legs. The they stood up and looked at their work of art. One snowman and two snow angels. Cas looked at Dean and Dean looked right back at him, staring into eachothers eyes and smiling.
Cas thought Dean was going to kiss him. Dean thought he was gonna kiss Cas as well, but he broke the moment clearing his throat and saying, "so coffee, or hot chocolate?"
Cas turned away and headed inside, "coffee is good."
They got inside and Dean put more wood in the fireplace, while Cas made coffee for the both of them. Dean sat on the couch and Cas sat on the chair across from him. "So what brings you to Grass valley, blue eyes."
Cas smiled as the words "Angel eyes" ran through his head. "I uh needed a break from my family."
"Can I ask why?" Dean leaned back ready for a long story.
"They", Cas cleared his throat and adjusted the way he was sitting, "They didn't like my choice of lifestyle", he took a drink of his coffee and waited for all the uneasy questions from Dean.
"What do you mean, you're like an angel what could you have possibly ever done wrong?" Dean put his coffee cup on the table.
Cas was feeling uneasy, he didn't want to get kicked out of another house because of the way he felt. So he changed the subject, "so who's this Sammy you always talk about?"
Dean would have stayed on the subject of Cas except he loved talking about his little brother, "He's my little brother, more than that, he's like my best friend, I practically raised him." Dean looked off into the distance with a painful smile on on his face. "Our mother died in a house fire, and I had to carry Sam out of the house, then our dad, man he went crazy. Always talking about monsters and demons, always leaving and never let me and Sammy go anywhere. We were never at the same school for two weeks, and I hated that part, not because I liked school or anything. Hell I dropped out as soon as I could, but Sammy, he's smart and I would have given anything to let him get the education he deserved, in fact he's at Stanford right now, he's gonna be the best damn lawyer I've ever seen." Dean blinked and suddenly he was back in reality. "You got any brothers, or sisters?"
Cas, had the most apologetic look on his face, but he assumed he shouldn't pry too much. "Yes, I have three, Gabriel, Michael, and Raphael. My father was a biblical man, So where's your Father now?
"He uh, died a couple years ago"
"Oh, I'm sorry for your loss.....Is it too much to ask how?" Cas was intrigued with Dean's life, he wanted to hear every detail, that made the man so interesting.
"Well we aren't exactly sure how, he just disappeared, right before Sammy got a full ride." Dean stood up and took their cups to the sink. "Only thing he left us was his car, leather jacket, and weird conspiracy book. What about your parents?"
"I never knew my mother, and I always respected my father until I was convinced he was gone for good, I didn't know if he was dead or just ignoring us, my brothers were rivals for his loyalty, but he came back, and everyone was okay again, until they realized who I had been sneaking around with." Cas went to sit on the couch Dean was on so they could hear each other better.
Dean was intrigued by Cas' life as well as Cas was his, "What you were sneaking around with some girl they didn't like?"
Castiel's heart was beating and he was scared Dean would find out, "Yeah something like that", he looked down at his hands.
"Or", Dean said getting really close to Cas, "Was it", he pushed Cas backwards and hovered over him, "A boy?" He pushed his lips softly against Cas' waiting for Cas to kiss back, making sure he felt the same way.
As soon as Cas realized it wasn't a dream he kissed back, hard, like it was something he was waiting for his whole life. Actually ever since he met the Winchester it was all he wanted to do. Cas put his hands on Dean's back and pulled his shirt up while wrapping his legs around Deans. Dean thrusted his hips on Cas, Cas was hard and so was Dean. They kissed harder and Cas could feel his heart beating out of his chest. Dean curled one hand behind Cas' neck and grabbed at Cas' pajama bottoms with the other.
Dean broke away, "is this what you want?"
"I-I've ne.."
Suddenly there was a knock at the door, "Son of a bitch," Dean pulled his shirt back on and walked to the door. Cas went to his room to put some real clothes on.
When he came out there was a dark haired girl sitting on the couch, she was beautiful. When Cas saw the way she looked at Dean his heart dropped. He could tell she was in love with him, or had been at one point, but honestly who loses love for someone?
Dean walked out of the kitchen, and saw Cas, who had disappointment in his eyes. "Hey Cas, this is, uh Lisa", he looked down at his feet then continued quietly, "my ex girlfriend."
Cas' heart dropped, and his stomach flipped, he stuck out his hand, "nice to meet you Lisa", Cas forced a fake smile, but the truth was he hated this girl as soon as she knocked on that door.
Dean cleared his throat, "Lisa this is Castiel, my new roommate."
Lisa smiled and shook Castiel's hand, "nice to meet you too Castiel."
Her voice was sweet and her hand was soft, Cas had no reason to hate her, but he was envious.
Dean broke the silence, "So what brings you by, also how? we're snowed in."
"Well you're snowed in, but I am not, my fiance' has a four wheel drive truck, and chains on the tires."
Dean rolled his eyes, "Oh right, right, the new guy with money, but why are you here?" Dean's voice started to get sharp
"Don't act like that with me, don't forget you left me, because going, god knows where, with your brother was more important."
When Cas heard that Dean left her he was a little more relieved.
Dean was starting to get angry, "Yeah and my brother still is, why are you here?"
"I don't want anything to do with you Dean Winchester, but for some reason my son wants to say goodbye before we leave town."
"Going on vacation?" Dean's voice got a little softer
"No, we're moving." Lisa swallowed hard and walked to the door and called Ben from the truck.
Dean's eyes got a little watery as a young boy that resembled Dean a little bit came running up the steps and into the house, right into Dean's arms, "Hey buddy."
Cas was sure the boy was going to call Dean dad.
"Hey Dean, guess what, my step dad is taking us on a road trip."
"Yeah, I heard", Dean's voice was small, but deep, "listen to me Ben, you better listen to your mom, and don't give her any trouble, you hear me?" Dean bent down and hugged the little boy.
"Yes sir, Dean" The boy hugged him tight, then ran back to the truck, and Lisa followed.
"Goodbye Dean" She said with tears in her eyes.
The truck honked and drove off, as Dean slammed the door and went to his room, and blared rock music.
Cas just sat on the couch, wondering if Dean had a son, or if the child just coincedently looked like him. Dean walked back out with a pipe in his hand, "You up to smoke?."
Cas followed Dean outside, he didn't want to smoke, but he was curious about the boy named Ben. Dean took a hit and passed it to Cas, who just passed it back. Dean just shrugged and took another hit.
Cas broke the silence, "So Lisa and Ben?"
"Yeah what about em?" Dean looked out towards the road with a serious look on his face, then he looked back to Cas.
"Well, is-is he your son" Cas squinted one eye a little, nervously.
"Nah he does look like me though huh?" Dean smiled, "I mean I thought the same thing when I first saw the kid, but she says he's some biker dude's, that she had a thing with after me."
Cas was relieved, "were you two serious?"
"Only for a year or so, but she was jealous of Sammy, and well I thought that was ridiculous, so Sammy and I left." Dean smiled and went inside, Cas followed him.
"You talk about Sammy so much, when do I get to meet him", Cas smiled and sat back down on the couch where he was earlier.
"Well he's supposed to visit, next weekend." Dean sat down on the couch next to Cas, "He's got this girlfriend he wants me to meet, he wants to propose to her, sounds like she makes him really happy, her names Jessica, I think."
"Does he know?"
"Know what?" Dean put his feet on the coffee table, "That I'm into guys a little?"
"Well", Castiel shrugged a little bit, "Yeah."
"Well I don't know how much he remembers." Dean leaned back and closed his eyes.
"Remembers what?"
"It's just story time all the time with you isn't it", he opened his eyes and sat up. "When I was about sixteen, my dad caught me kissing some dude when he pulled up to pick me up from school, the one time he was on time."
"Did Sam see?" Cas leaned forward a little bit
"No, but I'm pretty sure he saw my dad beat the shit out of me, when we got to the motel. Pretty sure Sammy heard him call me a faggot, then kicked me out and said I could come back when I learned to be straight"
"Did you come back?" Cas' eyes showed he felt bad for Dean.
"Yeah, I told him I wasn't kissing the kid, but that I was getting ready to bang the kids head against the wall, cause he was picking on Sammy. Sammy backed me up even though it was a lie."
"You think he remembers?"
"Yeah, but I think he thinks it was just a phase, because after that, I only talked to girls and I only fucked girls, and son of a bitch, I was as straight as a damn pole until I looked into your fucking eyes" Dean leaned back and closed his eyes again.
