Chapter 35 : Happy Ending

Middle of Night
Arshi Bedroom:

It was midnight when a tired Khushi was staring at her mobile screen, reading the status by Lavanya.

Lavanya had congratulated Aman on the occasion of their semi-anniversary.

But her mind was clouded with many things.

'For first six months they cannot file divorce.' The Will clause of her father came before her eyes.

"I'll file divorce after five months."
Her contract clause she had offered to Arnav. It was today when she had planned to file it.

"Are they our divorce papers?" Arnav's words few minutes ago. He still didn't know that she was in love with him and their contract was meaningless for her.

Her plan of surprising him had failed, as she had to go to Chennai in emergency.

'But why did Nani call him suddenly on this day!' She was doubting it.

"You will marry the girl I choose for you!" She remembered words of Nani.

'But he can't do this to me. He won't do it. I trust him.'

She stood up with tension, 'The contract is leaked and breached. Now it is meaningless.'

She again thought options to bound him with her. 'Even legally he is married to me in the court of law!'

She was doubting some manipulation by his Nani, as they didn't like the contract thing.

'Maybe it is against their traditions.'

She was sure. '

Are they planning his second marriage, to a virtuous girl unlike me?'

The thought made her restless as she dialled to Arnav. But it was unreachable. He was still in flight.

'But I can't take risk.'

RM, Lucknow
Next Morning

After an overnight drive, it was late morning when Khushi reached 'Raizada Mansion', a well-decorated one.

The crazy journey was taking a toll on her. But she had not much option yesterday, having no flight till morning.

So driving from Delhi to Lucknow was only thing she had thought of. Without caring of anything else she had took this decision. She couldn't lose Arnav for anything.

'All decorations! It means.....' Realization of obvious made her run towards the entrance.

"Manorama, did you prepare everything Panditji has told you!" She could hear Nani, talking to Mami from a distance, among other noises, as the Mansion was full of guests.

As Khushi entered the Mansion there were so many happenings that no one noticed her.

Fidgeting with her fingers she was feeling a strong headache. The nauseatic feeling increased as she looked at the happy faces, some chatting, some working, some running.

'How can Arnav do this!' She felt as if her head was squeezed as the heaviness increased. 'Maybe it is not what I am seeing!' She tried to reason, wiping the brewing tears.

Feeling all dizzy she leaned on the wooden rack near the entrance as she saw a Pooja Thali kept there. But what caught her attention was the big Wedding Card Box.

She opened it, her eyes not ready to remain open for long as the words started dancing...

~~Wedding~~

Mrs. Devyani Arvind Singh Raizada
Invites you to grace and bless the marriage ceremony of her beloved grandson

Arnav

'Arnav...' Her senses got lost with the words as her fragile body couldn't take the torture anymore.

"Khnmmmmmmmmnnn" The Mansion got startled as the metal Thali tilted and fell down on the ground, splattering vibrations all over the marble floor.

The strong manly arm was able to catch her soft feminine one before she could fall on the ground, "Khushi!"

After few hours

"Khushi.....!" She could feel the warmth of two palms cupping her face as she opened her eyes on the voice.

"How is it feeling?" He asked, removing tendrils from her pale face.

She quickly sat up, while he helped her.

"Arnav I saw a very bad dream!" She told him in a weak voice as she hugged him, holding him closer to never leave.

But as she looked more clearly, it wasn't their room, it was looking like RM.

'That means.....it wasn't a dream!'

Arnav kissed her temple, still gathering her close, their breaths fanning their napes, unaware of her thoughts.

"How stupid of you Khushi to drive all from Delhi, alone in the night! Don't you know how dangerous it could be!" He was scolding her but his voice was not angry.

'It is not a dream.' She realized her earlier stupidity.

'He is really getting married.'

Her heart squeezed at the thought arising uncontrolled anger in her veins, a hot lava of emotions erupting in her mind, frustration and a desire to kill, erupting from her eyes as she pushed him with all her might, making him disoriented.

"I am stupid?" How dare he to call her that, "And you are the smartest one!" She was gritting her teeth as she stood up, screaming at him.

"Khushi..." Arnav had fallen down with her forceful thrutch as he flabbergastedly looked at his crazy wife behaving all mental.

Seeing him trying to come closer, she shoved his hands away and taking the knife kept with the apples marched towards him, making his eyes go saucer.

"Khushi are you mad! Keep that back damn it!" He was sure she was not in her senses as she moved towards him with a murderous glare.

"Yes I have gone mad. What should I do when you are getting married to someone else?" She attacked him with full aggravation.

"You think you can get rid of me by marrying some bitch!" Failed to pierce him in first attack, she firmed her hold on the knife.

"Khushi no...listen to me! It is really harmful." He again moved to side as the knife met the wall, spoiling the smoothness of it.

She got annoyed as he dodged her attacks, "Without letting me know your real intention, you ran to here, deceiving me!"

Her eyes were spitting fire as she was fully determined to attack his throat.

"You think KKG is a silly fling..." Her knife was almost on his vein when she got distracted by the frightful scream.

"Haaai re Nandkishoooore!" It was Buaji who had come to check on her, but got the shock of her life seeing the sister of her daughter in law like this.

For a moment Khushi stopped.

Taking advantage of her distraction, Arnav snatched the knife from her, holding her from behind, locking her hands together, praying to God that Buaji didn't get a heart attack.

Seeing the horrible scream, all ran to them as Buaji was still standing with her hands shutting her ears and eyes out of sockets.

"I can explain!" Arnav whispered to a struggling Khushi.

In same room after an hour:

"Nani wanted you to marry some other girl!" She had a painful expression on her face.

"Yes, Nani and Di were angry that time. They give too much respect to traditions Khushi!" They were sitting in guest room as he was feeding her breakfast. "But I had clearly told her that it was our personal matter."

"Oh...Then...!" She chewed the delicious paratha.

"I waited for your response but not getting a clear one I thought to make you express your feelings. Then after you went to Chennai, I planned to surprise you!"

"What surprise!"

"Our Baraat was to come to Delhi where I was going to propose you and get married!"

"That means it was my name in wedding card!" She didn't read it fully.

"Yes my Sankadevi!" He laughed at her innocence.

"Don't call me that." She frowned at him making him smirk.

"You knew I love you!" She asked after a minute.

"Of course, it's in your eyes since ages!" He had heard her whenever they would make love. "And I got confirmed when I mentioned Divorce papers and you get offended!"

"So it was all a trick....What if I had denied my love!" She said teasingly.

"Did you forget how I had married you first time!" He smirked.

"Laad Governor!" She looked away

"Let's go, everyone must be waiting to meet the bride to be!" He tugged on her wrist, "Don't frighten them with your KKG avatar!" He commented earning a smack from her.

As they went outside, everyone sighed with relief seeing them smile.

After solving their misunderstandings they decided to get married again in Lucknow itself.

"Sheesh Mahal?" She asked in surprise as Arnav suggested for the wedding venue.

"Yeah, the best place for our reunion." He was even thinking of buying it back.

Nani was also happy coming to know that it was available for rent.

As everyone agreed happily, they got busy preparing for the night with desired changes.

"Come Khushi, you need to get ready!" Lavanya said as the sourness between them also vanished slowly.

"Don't run away this time!" Arnav pulled Khushi's leg as everyone laughed while he earned a 'you will repent' look.
