Epilogue

Epilogue

A month later

Khushi woke up from her sleep. She saw Arnav looking at her sharply, sitting on the recliner. She sat on the bed frowning and nodded her head like what?

"Get ready..."

"Yeah..."

Khushi got off the bed and got stuck to see a new dress had been kept on the bed. She wondered. It was not a simple attire. It must be a few lakhs worthy. She looked at Arnav questioningly and questioned.

"What's this Arnavji?"

"New dress..." he smiled.

"That I know... Why is this new dress?"

"To you..."

"For?"

"To wear..."

Khushi glared at him.

"Why are you glaring at me? I'm not answering your questions?" he smirked teasingly.

"I'm sure this dress is highly expensive..."

"Three lakhs..."

Khushi was shocked.

"Why did you buy this costly dress for no reason?"

"No reason? How did you conclude?"

"I think you are up to something,"

Arnav smiled. Khushi became attentive.

"Have you taken a bath?"

"Why? Do you want my company?"

Khushi kept her hands on her hip and looked at him, shrinking her eyes.

"What's the matter Arnavji? You look extremely cheerful,"

"Do you have a problem?"

"Why would I have a problem? I will also be cheerful if you tell me the reason,"

"Can't you guess?"

Khushi tilled her head,

"Is something there?"

Arnav nodded yes.

"What's that?"

"Surprise..."

Khushi pouted and Arnav chuckled.

"Let me guess..."

"If you guessed it right, I will do anything you want,"

Khushi raised her brows.

"Is it tough to guess?"

"No..."

Khushi again wondered. It was not tough to guess. Yet, he was ready to do anything she wanted...! She was confused. What would it be? She looked at Arnav who was standing smilingly. Khushi shook her head from left to right and went to the washroom. She took a bath thinking about the expensive dress. No matter how hard she thought she could not get anything.

She came out of the washroom and became speechless to see Arnav in a new suit. He looked dashing which mesmerized her. She was gazing at him and her lips curved unknowingly.

Arnav advanced her and tapped her nose. She let out a soft chuckle.

"Where were you lost?"

"Where else? In my handsome husband..."

"Role reversal..." he chuckled.

"Why?"

"I thought I would be mesmerized if you wear this dress..."

"Why won't me? Don't I have feelings?"

"Of course, you do..."

"What's the matter, Arnavji? It seems you are getting ready for something"

"You said you would guess..."

Khushi sighed and went to the washroom taking the new dress. When she came, getting ready, Arnav was not in the room. What was happening there? She came downstairs and got stuck to see her in-laws and Lavanya was also in a new dress. More to her surprise, Guptas also gave their entry to RM.

"Amma, Babuji... you here?"

"You didn't invite us but Damadji"

"I didn't invite you because I don't know what's happening," She said wearily.

Guptas looked at Arnav who was lost in Khushi. Lavanya nudged him, smiling teasingly.

"Didn't you tell Khushi anything?" Shashi asked.

"It's surprise..." Arnav smiled.

"Surprise?" Shashi chuckled.

Khushi was losing her patience.

"Arnavji, tell me what's all this?"

Clutching her hand, Arnav took her a little aloof.

"Admit your defeat"

"What defeat?"

"Didn't you say you would guess it?"

Khushi pouted.

"As you could not guess, you should do what I want"

"Ok... tell me, what all this hungama is about?"

"Come..."

He closed her eyes with his palms and brought her to the hall. He removed his palms slowly. Khushi saw a cake being kept. Her eyes went wide open reading the wordings on the cake.

HAPPY 16th WEDDING ANNIVERSARY TO MY DEAR WIFE.

Khushi looked at him surprisingly.

"Is it our wedding day?"

Arnav nodded yes.

"You would be the only girl from the whole world who doesn't know your wedding day" Shashi laughed.

"How does she know, uncle...? She is the only girl from the whole world who did not even know she was married..." Arnav teased.

"How do I know, if you didn't tell me? You changed the topic when I asked you. Didn't I ask you?"

"I got the idea to surprise you only after you asked me about our wedding date"

"But, Uncle and Aunty also didn't tell me. They said they had forgotten"

Before Arnav said anything,

"I just did what was ordered to me..." Ratna said.

"Did you restrict them not to tell me?" Khushi asked Arnav.

He nodded yes smiling.

"This is our first wedding day after our second wedding... how could I let it be a random day?"

Khushi sighed.

"Come on, cut the cake"

Stuffing a knife in her palm, he cut the cake clutching her hand.

"Happy Anniversary" He fed her a small piece of cake.

"Happy Anniversary" Khushi also did the same in return.

They had a grand breakfast with five types of sweets.

"I'm taking Khushi to the temple," Arnav said while eating.

Both the parents nodded ok.

Khushi left RM with Arnav. Arnav opened the car door for Khushi. She sat in the car smiling. Arnav started the car. Khushi frowned to see their car going in some other direction.

"Arnavji, which temple are you taking me?"

Arnav didn't answer.

"Arnavji... why are you not answering?"

"Surprise..."

Khushi rolled her eyes.

"How many surprises do you have?"

"According to me, this is the last surprise but I can't say you won't be surprised for more than one time"

Arnav stopped their car in front of the hotel Cool Fire.

"Arnavji, why are we here?"

"Khushi, hold your curiosity..." He smiled.

He took her to the terrace of the Hotel Cool Fire. Khushi smiled pleasantly. The terrace was so beautiful with a terrace garden. It had been covered with different kinds of creepers completely. That protected the terrace from the sunlight and kept the terrace cool. Khushi could not believe that Delhi City could have such a greenhouse hotel. It stood out from the rest of the buildings in the area. The highlight of all was, that a broad wooden standing swing with cushion was kept in the middle of the terrace.

"Is this building the same as when you became its partner?" Khushi asked.

"No... not like this but plants were there. I developed it by hiring two efficient gardeners"

"So awesome..."

She rushed to the swing and was about to sit in it, but Arnav who followed her stopped her by clutching her hand. Khushi looked at him. Arnav sat in the corner, extending his left leg and hanging his right leg. He pulled Khushi and made her lean her back on his chest. He circled her waist from behind and placed his chin on her shoulder.

"I'm just twenty-nine and I'm celebrating my sixteenth wedding anniversary" Arnav chuckled.

"I could not remember anything that happened on this day," Khushi said regretting.

"The police stopped our wedding as we were kids. You started crying like hell and no one could console you. I had no choice other than tying the mangal sutra on your neck to stop your sob. Then only you smiled"

"Did I like you that much?"

"I don't think so... you liked the STAR mangal sutra so much," Arnav said teasingly.

Khushi pinched his thigh and Arnav chuckled.

"I just kidding... you liked me like anything... and I loved you more than anything in the world...just like today"

"Why did you bring me here, telling a lie that you are taking me to the temple?"

"To be with you..."

"We could have been together at home too..."

"I want to be with ONLY you. this is OUR day. I don't want to share it with anyone"

"Aunty will call you in after a while to know if we are coming to the lunch or not"

"No, she won't..."

"Did you tell her your plan?"

"Only to her... because she is the only one who will call us."

"Does she know about this greenhouse terrace?"

"No... I just said I would take you out"

"Mmm," Khushi leaned on him comfortably.

"I just want to be like this... forever...to equalize the lost fifteen years..." Arnav pulled her close to him.

Khushi looked at him, turning behind who looked emotional. Without thinking anything, she pecked his lips and hugged him turning towards him. Arnav zealously reciprocated it.
