2 For Anjali
Part 2 For Anjali
"I have no guts to tell Anjali that we fired Khushi. Please you do that, ASR" Aman said, making Arnav stuck.
Aman removed his phone and dialed Anjali. Arnav gulped down hard. How could he disappoint Anjali? She never asked anything from him. She asked for a job for Khushi. She even said he could fire her if she was ineligible. But what he said? Didn't he say, they would train her even if she was not eligible? He didn't even know her eligibility. Then how could he fire her? Of course, he could fire her but how would he console Anjali? Could he? Would she be consoled? He had no doubt Khushi was not at fault. She even apologized. Then how could Anjali be consoled? Arnav looked at Aman who dialed Anjali.
"Anju... ASR is back... he wants to talk to you" Aman kept his mobile on the table, in front of Arnav.
Taking a deep breath, Arnav took the phone and spoke.
"Hello..."
"Hi, Arnav... welcome back... how was the trip?"
"Great, Anju,"
"We expected you to be here tomorrow..."
"Yeah, the work got over..."
"That's nice... what do you want to talk to me?"
"Just formally..."
Aman raised his brows.
"Oh... by the way, how about Khushi? Do you like her?"
"I... I just came..." Arnav hesitated and Anjali sensed it.
"Oh, ok... take your time and observe her... all the best"
Anjali was about to cut the call,
"One minute, Anju..."
"Yeah, tell me..."
Arnav closed his eyes and gulped hard.
"I don't think she could handle me... it will be better if she works for Aman for a while and learns the work..."
Now, Anjali understood something must have happened.
"Ok, Arnav... I TRUST you. your decision would always be right" Anjali said in a low tone that irked Arnav.
"Are you upset with me?"
"No," Anjali said in a word that confirmed she was upset.
"Please pass the phone to Aman," Anjali said.
Arnav forwarded the phone to Aman who was looking at him without blinking. Taking the phone, Aman talked.
"Haan, Anju..."
"I sense something wrong... tell me later what happened," Anjali said.
"Mmm, okay"
"I will talk to you later"
Aman disconnected the call and looked at Arnav.
"I don't want to disappoint Anju..."
Aman controlled his laughter.
"At the same time, I don't want her to work for me... make her your PA and appoint Akash as mine"
"As you say ASR..."
"By the way, I don't like that girl. Ask her to stay away from me..."
"Sure ASR... she won't cross your path. She will be in MY limit"
Arnav sat on his seat.
"By the way, ASR, thanks"
"I just did this for Anju... understand?"
"Of course, I know but I didn't thank you for that reason"
"Then for what?"
"For giving me a chance to work with Khushi. She is a super cool girl. She learns everything so quickly, and catches anything minutely... she is so awesome. She has a good sense of humor, unlike Akash who is a moody type. My work will be easier and also fun-filled from here on. Thank you so much" Aman left his cabin.
Arnav sat on the seat tightening his fist.
Let's see, how long Khushi Gupta would stay in A2. Won't she make mistakes? If she didn't do it, he would make her do it. She won't be in A2 for long. Anjali herself permitted him to fire her if she was not eligible for the job. He would find her ineligibility and would fire her. How dare she talk to him like that! To date, no one touched his big fat ego. A small girl did that today. So what if she was not at fault? Could not she be quiet, shutting her bloody mouth? Who was she to raise her finger at his fault? He didn't need such a PA who pointed out his fault. He needed a PA who would work shutting her/his mouth, unlike Khushi Gupta.
Aman came out of Arnav's cabin while dialing Anjali. As she sensed something wrong, she would be stressed. So, he called her immediately. He was right. Anjali was waiting for Aman's call restlessly. She attended it in the first ring itself.
"Hello, Aman, is everything all right?"
"I'm sorry Anju, as of now, I saved Khushi from getting fired"
"Whaaaat? Was she supposed to be fired?"
"He almost fired her..."
"Then?"
"I used your sentiment and stopped him from doing that"
Anjali sighed.
"Your plan of making him fall for Khushi became flopped but it was not Khushi's mistake. It's ASR who lost his temper as usual. I don't know why he always loses his temper whenever he crosses a beautiful girl"
"He shields his heart with anger to keep himself away from girls..."
"Then why did he agree when you asked for a job for Khushi?"
"At that time, he doesn't know she looks beautiful... that's why"
"I don't think it works, Anju"
"Don't come to the conclusion soon... opposite poles always attract"
"Mmm"
"What are you going to do with Khushi?"
"She became my PA and ASR took Akash for himself"
"Ok, let Khushi know he won't fire her until she does anything blunder"
"OK, I will take care of her. You don't worry"
"Mmm, I will talk to Khushi later"
Aman went to Akash's cabin and told him about the change of posts before he came to his cabin where Khushi was waiting. She stood up, seeing him.
"I'm sorry for whatever happened, Khushi"
"You don't have to be sorry, Sir. I don't want this job. I don't think I can work for an arrogant Boss. I had never seen such an egoistic man in my life. How could anyone start shouting at the person who was literally sorry for the mistake she didn't make?"
"He is like that, Khushi..."
"Let him be anything... I'm done with his arrogance. I'm leaving"
"You don't have to work for him. Work for me... as my PA. Won't you?"
"Aman sir, however, he will be my Boss. He won't be quiet. I will also be not quiet if he nags me for no reason" Khushi didn't hesitate to say what she was.
"No Khushi, you guys will not cross one another's path. Trust me. Anjali so wants you to work in our company. Just ignore ASR and consider Anjali"
"I considered Anjali. That's why I accepted her offer."
"Trust me, Khushi. ASR will not fire you because he respects Anjali a lot. Please consider"
Khushi sighed.
"Ok, sir... as you say. If he doesn't cross my path, I have no problem because I'm not in need of a job. I will be sitting at home eating casually. My father also wanted the same. It's me who wants to stand on my own leg"
"It's really good thought Khushi. You can do your job freely. Until you have made any mistake, ASR cannot do anything"
Khushi understood that she should be careful not to make mistakes. She nodded ok. She liked this challenge. Tackling an arrogant Boss was something NEW to her.
"You can take over Akash's post from here on"
Khushi nodded ok. She came to Akash's cabin. He smiled at her.
"What happened Khushi? Aman sir said you are taking over my post of his PA?" Akash asked with nervousness.
"Yeah, ASR so wants you to work for him I suppose because you are so sincere," Khushi said with a fake smile.
"I'm sincere, it doesn't mean working for ASR would be simple."
"Why?"
"He is a little hard to understand..."
"Oh..."
"His former PA suffocated a lot to handle him," Akash said worriedly.
"Aman sir looks so cool... You should have worked coolly for him, right?"
Akash nodded yes sadly.
"Don't take me wrong. If you want any help from me, you can ask me"
"Thank you, Khushi"
Khushi smiled.
"By the way, why didn't you take charge as ASR's PA? You were trained to become his PA..."
"He feels I can't cope with him and only an experienced person could do that. That's why he wants you for himself I suppose"
Akash sighed. Didn't he know his experience would not help him to tackle ASR? He was a man who could not be predicted. He always carried mood swings in his head. No one knew when and how his mood would change... including Aman.
Instead of feeling relieved not to work for Arnav, Khushi felt bad. She wanted to work for such a challenging person.
Taking his bag, Akash went to the cabin of ASR's PA. Khushi sat on the seat and leaned on it relaxing. She could work without being tense. No stress, no pressure...!
How different Arnav and Aman were. One was arrogant and the other was modest...!
She could not conclude what KIND Arnav was. He was the one who banged on her. Yet, she apologized. Nevertheless, he shouted at her. If anyone other than him had been in his place would definitely have regretted it. But him...! What an EGO...! She didn't like to work at A2 but she could not defy Aman's request. She wanted to leave the job right away because tolerating an arrogant man was something she could not do. She knew Arnav would fire her if she did anything he didn't like. So, she decided to do something to irritate him. Then, he would fire her. then she would become a free bird. Why should she stand such a bull-headed man? She was not ready to bear the DICTATOR... not for anyone...
Her cabin was roofless and half-covered with glass walls. She could see the full office through the glass walls. She saw Arnav descending the stairs. She understood he was going to Aman's cabin. He should cross her cabin to reach Aman's cabin.
A mischievous idea was raised in her mind. Taking a phone, she kept it in her ear and talked a little louder.
"Haan... I'm busy"
Arnav looked at her and was about to continue walking, he stopped hearing her talk.
"No, no... No one fired me... I'm still in A2 only" She said looking at him with attitude.
Arnav gritted his teeth and said,
"What the..."
"What the... what the... what the..." She pretended like disconnect the call and again looked at Arnav who advanced her cabin... of course angrily.
To be continued...
