If you don't understand what you're reading , you're missing an element of being a Muslim , Allah swt didn't make the acquisition of the understanding of the Quran obligatory when He could but He wants us to yearn the understanding of the graceful words of Allah swt and the miraculous wisdoms behind the words of Allah swt because the Quran is the greatest miracle that's been sent down to mankind , you'll have seen the mountains shattered out of humility before Allah swt and for the fear of Allah swt and who are we? We're human beings who're made of bones , muscle and tissues etc, are we strong as mountains? so if the Quran can shatter a mountain do you think we're processing the Quran properly ,if it's not shattering our hearts , if we're not melted by the recitation of the words of the greatest Allah swt , if we're not delving into the feeling of the Quran ,we missing an important element and we're missing the sweetness of Islam which's the Quran , because SubhanAllah the Quran is the basic foundation of Islam and it's the essence of our faith therefore I'll urge each one of us to try and learn the interpretation of the Quran because it is Allah swt speaking to us, It is Allah AWJ talking to us directly So we should try to find relevance to us in everything we read and we should not see the Quran as merely a piece of informations or a historical facts about past nations and individuals but we should rather see it as a warning against evil acts , as a guidance ,principles to govern ourselves and as a way to fulfill our purpose of creation and extra in shaa Allah , just take one Ayah per day and reflect / ponder over it and you'll understand what exactly I am talking about!

May Allah swt ease our affairs , grant us patience, strength, humility , Tawakkul and Taqwa of Allah swt Aameen ya Rabbul Al'ameen!
