ONCE UPON A TIME, THERE WAS A YOUNG PRINCESS WHO WAS FORETOLD TO BRING GREAT MISFORTUNE TO HER FAMILY. So, to protect themselves, she was locked far away in a tower where no one would lay their eyes on her. Her name was Princess Rosette and all she wanted was to be free. She spent years staring out of her window, gazing at the horizon, wishing that she could disappear behind it. But she was trapped. That was until a certain sorcerer dropped by and offered her the one thing she had always wanted. 

His name was Rumplestiltskin and because of him, Rosette was free.

But, as he said, all magic came at a price.

After asking him for his help to free her from her tower, she was later released by her two brothers following the deaths of their parents. Her parents died after she made the deal. Their deaths were what allowed her to be released. Which meant it was all her fault. But Rosette wasn't just going to waste this new life she had been given. So, when her brothers quickly demanded for her to marry, Princess Rosette declared she would only marry one man. A man, her brothers didn't realise, she had made up.

But it seemed Rosette was in for the shock when her brothers returned from a trip, announcing they had found the man their dear sister intended on marrying. 

Rosette didn't know what to do. She had no desire to marry and she couldn't imagine asking the Dark One for another deal as not only did it mean her parents' death, but she had still not paid her price. So, Rosette didn't know what to do and as a result, went along with her brothers to meet her betrothed. 

And fortunately for the Princess, fate intervened. 

On her way to meet her real King, Rosette's nurse slid her into the sea upon her phoenix-feather bed whilst she was still asleep. She wanted her own daughter to replace Rosette in the marriage to the King. If only she had asked Rosette, then slipping her into the ocean wouldn't have been necessary, she would have switched willingly. The rare feathers in the bed allowed the Princess to float to shore, saving her life. And when she opened her eyes, she did not find her nurse, nor her brothers, she found herself staring into the scaly face of Rumplestiltskin and it was time to pay up.

The Dark Castle was a big place for one man. It was like she could feel the loneliness in the walls. And to some extent, she could. As there was something Rosette never truly realised: she could feel the emotions of others. Being locked away in a tower with no access to the outside world, the Princess didn't figure out her power until she felt the pain and loneliness of Rumplestiltskin. It made her realise that he wasn't just a heartless monster as they all said; he was a man broken by ages of pain and cursed with an incurable tether to darkness. And Rosette, she allowed herself to get entangled in the man's life. And Rumplestiltskin eventually let her.

But the Evil Queen took the lost Princess from her home. And although she later found her way out, she never found her husband. 

Yet, hope was not completely lost. Because as the Evil Queen cast her curse, sweeping it across the land, Rosette was cast from the Enchanted Forest and to a new domain of the Queen's design. A new place where Rosette was reunited with her love, even though she was now Vivienne Delacroix and he was Mr Gold. 

Vivienne Delacroix — once an empathic Princess — now a teacher, was stuck in a town with no memory of who she really was. But when a mystery blonde in a yellow bug rolls into town, things in their quiet neck of the woods start to change. And all Vivienne can do is hold on tight as the changes in her town start to reveal its true colours.

AUTHOR'S NOTE —
It was so random but I decided I wanted to make a Rumple fic. Me having a fic for both Rumple and Regina is such a slay. OUAT villains are just amazing and Rumple is such a complex character so that'll be fun. I'm gonna have a great time writing this. 

It's not that I don't like Rumbelle, because I do like it, it's just I always believe Belle can be a little naïve when it comes to Rumple. He can't simply stop making bad decisions, he's the Dark One. And what I love about Rosette is that she understands that. She just wants him to increase his number of good decisions. They're so good with each other. Basically they're yin and yang. The ups and downs this couple go through though. It's gonna be great.
