Chapter 1: Lunch Rush

I watched as the tears fell down his face. A silent cry for help was seen in his eyes as he was pushed against the table. He wore his lunch on his chest as a group of older girls ran to his rescue.

This is a typical day at Delta Woods High. I don't know why that kid gets bullied. I don't know why he thinks he can take on four guys alone. He never calls for help.

I witnessed one of the girls comforting him. No words were ever exchanged. He silently stood by as she wiped away his tears.

Just a typical day.

I usually sit alone at lunch, but today my table was being used by three freshman girls. Well since my first week of school they sat with me. They were smart enough not to bother me but today they seemed bold.

"Do you think he has a date to the dance?" One of the girls whispered to the other. It has been about three months since I started going here and I am yet to learn their names.

I glanced over at the girls. They all made eye contact with me before quickly blushing and looking down. I shall refer to them as the Powerpuff Girls. Mostly because of the color of their hair.

For those of you who don't know, the Powerpuff Girls was a classic cartoon show where three superhero girls fought to protect their town from random villains. It was not really a show for me but we cannot ignore the iconic hair colors.

First there is Blossom. She has red hair. Though she did not wear it like her cartoon character, it was red and straight back. The length she wore it at was impressively long.

Then there is Bubbles, the blond. I don't know much about her, but from the conversations I have heard she seems to be the smartest in the group.

Finally there is Buttercup. She wore her jet black hair short and curly. She struggles the most when it comes to looking at me.

I directed my attention to the four guys who were harassing that kid earlier. To me they were nothing more than a copy paste version of a surfer reject. I can't tell what grade they are in because I didn't come here last year, but more importantly because I don't care.

"Maybe he is gay." Buttercup whispered to the other Powerpuff Girls.

The giggling from the girls stopped when I looked over. I was just going to ignore the comment, but the copy paste surfer gang walked up to my table.

"Is there a faggot among us?" The lead surfer yelled. I am impressed that he gathered the attention of everyone in the cafeteria. This is a new twist on what should have been a typical day. I attempted to leave for their safety, but two of the surfer dudes got behind me and forced me to sit down.

"Come on. Bow before King James." The lead surfer yelled. I guess it's safe to call this one James.

See, James just landed his surfer crew in a very unfortunate predicament. If they would have searched me on the internet they would know not to mess with me. I am last year weightlifting national champion and I was easily able to lift the surfer on my right clear over my head, by his shirt, with one hand and toss him over the table. The surfer to my left was smart enough to let go, which allowed me to stand.

It is bad enough that I had to come to a new school. I just wanted to study and compete. Now I have to explain why two kids got thrown across the cafeteria.

What? Just because the kid was smart enough to let go of me doesn't mean he didn't earn a one way ticket across the cafeteria table.

James and the last surfer were smart enough to put a good amount of distance in between us, as they ran over to help their friends.

I looked over at the Powerpuff Girls who all looked mortified. "No, I don't have a date to the dance."

I answered for my own amusement. It was pretty clear by their expressions on their face that they were no longer interested.
