The Assignment

The next week, Director Jeremiah Arkham was in his office. A knock was heard from outside. "Please, come in," said Jeremiah as the door then opened. Coming in was a young woman around 26. She had Caucasian skin, blonde hair, blue eyes, wore glasses, and professional clothes for a psychiatrist. She wore a white lab coat, a red buttoned down collared blouse, a black skirt, and black high heels with no socks or leggings. This was Dr. Harleen Frances Quinzel. "You wanted to see me Warden?" asked Dr. Quinzel. "Yes, I did," replied Jeremiah, "please, take a seat." Harleen nodded, and took a seat, facing Dr. Arkham. "We were considering having you be The Joker's psychiatrist," said Dr. Arkham, "but we recently received a new patient. His name is Wade Wilson. Here's his file." He gave Harleen the file, and she looked at the file, reading it.

"We contacted the Xavier Institute about Mr. Wilson," explained Jeremiah, "its founder can explain Mr. Wilson far better than I." The door opened again, and a bald man in a wheelchair wearing a suit rolled in, closing the door. This was Professor Charles Xavier. "Hello Dr. Quinzel," the old man warmly said to Harleen.

"It's an honor to meet you Professor," said Harleen as she stood up to shake his hand. "The honor is mine Harleen," replied Charles as he smiled warmly. Harleen sat back down. "My team, the X-Men, have encountered Mr. Wade Wilson, or as he likes to call himself, Deadpool, before," explained Charles, "he is a result of mutant experimentation, gaining powers very similar to Wolverine's. But Deadpool is insanely violent as he is vulgar and obscene. He was recently captured and admitted here for safety reasons. We want you to be Mr. Wilson's psychiatrist. Are you willing to do that?"

Harleen thought for a moment. This could be a potentially important assignment and could boost her career. And maybe she could rehabilitate this Deadpool stranger. She then said, "I would be most willing to help Professor." Charles smiled. "Very well," said Jeremiah, "read up on Mr. Wilson's profile. You start next Monday." Harleen nodded, adjusted her glasses, stood up, shook the Professor's hand, and then said, "Pleasure doing business with you, Professor."
